Swap meet Report
SWAP MEET REPORT - The Back-up Plan NEW DATES: Friday 26th to Sunday 28th November Well, no surprises here!! Because of the COVID restrictions, we’ve now had to switch to the pre-arranged back-up plan to ensure we do indeed proceed with Swap Meet this year. Moving it out 6 weeks to the last weekend in November gives us the opportunity to reorganise the critical things, like toilets, food vendors, advertising and rosters for the new dates. There are still a few sites available for booking, but get in quick and contact Neil Shaskey if you want one. If you have a site booked (selling, camping or both) and you can’t make the new dates, then please let Neil Shaskey (sites) or Andrea Dallow (camping) know, so the sites can be reallocated. At noggin this month we will have the small signs available for collection (with the revised dates on them) – if you can take one or more and put them up somewhere in your neighbourhood, it would be a great help. For those who have already put signs up, there are stickers available to put the revised dates on them, so please collect those at noggin too. Whilst at Noggin, please check the roster sheets. If your name is already there, please check that your allocated time is still OK, and if it’s not please change your time, or see or call me if you have to change your plans. If your name is not there, please find a job you would like to do and a time that suits you and add your name. There is nothing arduous or difficult to do, all we require is an hour or so of your time over the whole weekend. At the October and November Noggins we will have weekend passes available to purchase. Remember that entry is $5 per day, or you can buy a three-day/ weekend pass (wrist-band) for $10 and just show it at the gate as you come through.
Back-up Plan No.2

Because there is still that annoying uncertainty of Covid restrictions, we have devised a back-up plan no. 2 to ensure we do indeed have a Swap Meet this year. The dates will be advised if or when we need to use them – suffice to say it will not be until well into the new year. The key message is that there will be a Swap Meet, so keep sorting your stuff out, and start looking forward to catching up with your mates from out of town again. SUNDAY 24 OCTOBER 2021
The Grasskhana is being set up to take place on Sunday October 24th (Labour Weekend) at the branch grounds, Cutler Park.
The event will take place in the grass area by the power cables, parallel with our boundary with Steam Scene and is open to entries for any club eligible vehicles. Four different courses will be set up and hopefully, each entrant will have the opportunity of testing their skills on each one twice, with their best times being used in the compilation of the final results.
This occasion is a great opportunity for some of our younger members to demonstrate their driving abilities and have a fun day out in their, or the family’s vehicle. For the spectators, the event can be really entertaining. The mistreating of vehicles will be discouraged, but nevertheless competition is expected to be fierce.
Vehicles need to be in a safe condition and importantly, the battery must be firmly secured.
Start time 10.00 am BYO picnic lunch
