A Choreographer’s Showcase, una colaboración única en su tipo entre Nevada Ballet Theatre y los artistas del Cirque du Soleil regreso este otoño con nuevo y magnífico espectáculo en el cual dos de las compañías de espectáculos más interesantes de la ciudad se unen para producir una experiencia que empuja los límites al reunir el talento de los bailarines del Nevada Ballet Theatre y artistas del Cirque du Soleil. A Choreographer’s Showcase, a one-of-a-kind collaboration between Nevada Ballet Theatre and the artists of Cirque du Soleil® returned this fall with bold new works. Two of the city’s most exciting performance companies blended together effortlessly producing an experience that pushes the boundaries of ballet to bring together the talent of dancers of the Nevada Ballet Theatre and artists of Cirque du Soleil. The partnership that combines the grace of ballet with the power of acrobatics merged into contemporary dance had its inception eight years ago; the collaboration serves to discover the creative potential of blending the two companies, and to feed the arts culture of Nevada. This season it showcased short pieces by new and returning choreographers from both camps. Now in its ninth year, A Choreographers’ Showcase has proven so popular that a third performance was added. This dynamic partnership between the artists of Cirque du Soleil® and Nevada Ballet Theatre debuts bold new works by emerging local artists. The eclectic program combines raw athleticism and the kinetic power of movement to create a truly unique experience in a city dominated by one-of-a-kind events. This interplay of vision and artistry is a genuine only-inVegas moment that has been described as “joyous, experimental and vibrant,” bringing audiences back year after year. Just as walking into the Mystère Theatre, one feels that an adventure is about to unfold. The semicircular rows of house seats descend toward a thrust stage, preparing the audience for a more three-dimensional experience. This season, the young dancers participating in each performance appeared on stage carrying the audience through the night indicating curiosity and abundant creativity with their presence and the dances took us on a dreamlike journey with whimsical spirit and technical virtuosity. The ballet dancers and cirque artists are well matched, each bringing their own aesthetic to the individual works. In some cases their talents are juxtaposed seamlessly falling into twisted, contortion-like maneuvers. Being in Las Vegas, the production elements do not disappoint. Each piece was bathed in various colors, adding to the theatricality of some of the works. The dancers executed skillful partnering. On the sometimes rotating stage A Choreographer’s Showcase gives many chances: for the artists to collaborate and

No hay alegría sin tristeza. No hay calma sin tormenta previa. La vida conlleva altibajos en sentimientos y emociones. Nuestro estado de ánimo varía de acuerdo a las circunstancias, a la precepción de las mismas y a la genética. En parte es esto lo que nos hace humanos; hasta ahora nos diferencia de los robots, quizá no de otras especies de seres vivos. Debemos estar agradecidos tanto por la capacidad de raciocinio como por la posibilidad de sentir. La estabilidad y los avances laborales, económicos, la buena salud y la sanidad en el afecto nos hacen sentir bien. Cuando nos enamoramos nos sentimos fuertes, motivados y la alegría no nos cabe en el corazón. Cuando el amor no es correspondido o si rompemos, muchas veces nos sentimos débiles, desmotivados y tristes. Si nace un ser querido nos alegramos. Si muere un ser querido sentimos dolor y tristeza. Podría seguir en un sin fin de ejemplos circunstanciales. El caso es que en ocasiones parece no llegar la calma; como si el desasosiego se afianzara dentro de nosotros como un huésped insoportable. Es importante estar atentos ante la intensidad y la duración de estos episodios pues allí radica la diferencia entre un cuadro normal de tristeza y una depresión, leve, moderada o grave. Un trastorno melancólico prolongado, durante más de dos semanas, puede alterarnos psicológica y biológicamente. En caso de perder interés por actividades que anteriormente nos traían satisfacción, llegar a descuidarnos en lo laboral, en lo social y hasta en las actividades personales cotidianas, son alarmas para consultar a especialistas psicólogos o psiquiatras. Pues podemos estar ante una enfermedad silenciosa, aislante y creciente. En la actualidad persisten mitos frente a los trastornos mentales y emocionales. Según la población común todo se reduce a la categoría banal, generalizada y de connotación negativa de “locura”, y nadie quiere ser tildado de loco. La percepción general es que quién acude a un psiquiatra está loco. Pues sucede que en el caso de la depresión, un grado leve se puede convertir en grave cuando no se pide ayuda a tiempo, y como toda enfermedad avanzada se hace más difícil de tratar.

The general perception is that whoever goes to a psychiatrist is crazy. As it turns out that in the case of depression, a mild degree can become severe when no help is requested in time, and as any advanced disease becomes more difficult to treat. The causes of depression may be genetic: background in the immediate family; Physiological: decreased levels of neurotransmitters such as serotonin; and environmental problems: work stress, family or couple problems, poor interpersonal relationships, illness or close relatives or habitual consumption of alcohol, tobacco or drugs.

Todas las anteriores son alarmas para pedir ayuda profesional; más aún cuando se prolongan en el tiempo. De manera que no dejemos que los mitos ni que estos huéspedes hostiles para el alma nos roben la energía y la vitalidad.

Todos nosotros hemos tenido una gran idea hacerca de tener un gran negocio, o conocimos de alguien con ese pensar, algunos crearon ese sueño, otros lo dejaron morir. Muchas veces, los componentes para conectar el vacio entre una idea y el producto final es el saber “como hacerlo.” La mayoria de empresarios no alcanzan el éxito porque simplemente no ejecutan, y no porque solo tengan acceso a una limitada cantidad de dinero. Para averiguar cuales son las partes que faltan, hable con Vick Tipnes, director ejecutivo de Blackstone Medical Services y empresario que comenzo de la nada. Hace 3 años atras, Tipnes solamente tenia $78 a su nombre, pero se las engenio para crear una compania multi millonaria con mas de 40 empleados. Aqui estan sus consejos para construir un negocio prospero. 1. ¿Como supistes exactamente que tipo de negocio comenzar? Yo queria ayudar a las personas, y no solo algunas personas, pero en cantidades. Tambien sabia que necesitaba que mi negocio fuera extremadamente escalable y capas de servir a cualquier mercado en el pais. Yo tengo experiencia en el cuidado de salud, y tenia mi mente en lo que las personas, companias de suguros medicos y docotres se enfocan. Yo entendi los problemas que ellos tenian, que necesitaban soluciones. Siempre se comienza con un problema. De la manera que tu resuelves un problema, es de la manera que vas a ser exitoso. 2. ¿Como comensastes, y cuales fueron los puntos en los cuales te enfocastes? Yo soy un gran creyente en que “nada nunca va a ser perfecto.” Uno no puede esperar a comenzar porque siente que no todo esta al 100%. Tienes que asegurarte que tu producto este completo y asi consigues tu comienzo. Tu producto evolucionara con el tiempo. Fijensen cuantas versiones del IPhone han salido con el tiempo, si tu compras la primera version del IPhone hoy despues de haber usado el IPhone 7, tu no lo querrias. Eso es prueba de que nada es perfecto y todo va a evolucionar. Yo cree un modelo que se ha enfocado en estos 3 pilares: acceso, calidad, y costo. Despues tuve que desifrar objetivamente que problema estaba resolviendo y para quien. Yo digo “objetivamente” por una rason. Objectivo esta definido en el diccionario como: Que hace juicios de valor atendiendo a los hechos y la lógica, y no a los propios sentimientos o sensaciones.

Esto es importante porque si uno no puede ver en facticidad, cuales son los problemas, no lo que tu pienses que puedan ser, entonces tu puedes ir por el camino indicado. 3. ¿Una vez que supistes cual problema estabas resolviendo, como lo convertistes en lo que es hoy? Cuando supe cual era el mayor problema que yo esaba resolviendo, tuve que entender cuales eran los objetivos claves para mi negocio. Necesitaba que doctores y seguros medicos sepan quien yo soy, y que vieran que yo soy la mejor solucion para su problema. Por ejemplo, yo cree un programa que indicaba cuantos doctores teniar que ser visitados por mis vendedores, y por 2 años me reuini con mis vendedores todas la mañanas, no importanto el clima, o el esfuerzo, necesitaba saber que estos goles iban a ser cumplidos. No estaba dispuesto a esperar hasta el fin de la semana para saber si habian alcanzado sus g o l e s semanales o no. Esto creo una sensación de urgencia en la compania haciendo que todos cumplan con sus goles diarios, y todos desde arriba hasta abajo tenian su atención en eso diariamente. Hasta el dia de hoy tengo mis objetivos claves que miro y me aseguroque son cumplidos dia a dia. Nunca dejo pasarlos por alto, y esa es la rason por la cual hemos crecido 95% año tras año. Esto es un ejemplo de urgencia. Vick es conocido por querer que las cosas se hagan hoy y no mañana. El tiene muy poca paciencia para tener que esperar y siente que cuando un dedica mucho tiempo a la ecuación de un negocio o a la vida, no pasan tantas cosas. Vick siente que hoy en dia hay empresarios que no ponen las cosas en la linea rapida, prefieren tomar su tiempo. Y lo que ocurre despues es que un projecto que realmente puede tomar 2 meses, termina tomando 6 meses o mas. Por ultimo, no esperes por la perfección , una vez que tengas un producto factible, comienze.

Each of us have had an idea about a great business, or have known someone that did, and then either created it, or the dream died. Often times, the missing components that bridge the gap between an idea and the final product is just data on the “know how.” Most entrepreneurs never reach success because they simply fail to execute and not because of limited access to cash. To find out what these missing parts are, I spoke with Vick Tipnes, CEO of Blackstone Medical Services and an entrepreneur who started from nothing. As of 3 years ago, Tipnes had $78 to his name, but managed to create a multi-million dollar company with over 40 employees. Here are his top tips to building a thriving business. 1. How did you know exactly which type of business to start? I wanted to help people, and not just help a few, but in masses. I also knew that I needed my business to be extremely scalable and able to service any market in the country easily. I have past experience in the healthcare space, so I had my pulse on the market in terms of what people, insurance companies and doctors were focused on. I understood what problems they had, that they needed solutions for. It always starts with a problem. To the degree that you solve a problem, is to the degree that you will be successful. 2. So how did you start and what were the main points you focused on? I’m a big believer in “nothing will ever be perfect.” You can’t wait to start because you don’t feel it’s 100%. You need to make sure your product is sound and ready, and then you have to start. Your product will evolve over time. Look at how many versions of the iPhone that have come out over time. If you grabbed the first version of iPhone today after you have used the iPhone 7, you wouldn’t even want it. That’s proof that nothing is perfect and everything will evolve. I created a model that has focused on these 3 pillars: Access, Quality & Cost. These were my driving forces. I then needed to find out objectively what problem I was solving and for whom. I say “objectively” for a specific reason. Objective is defined in the Oxford Dictionary as: (of a person or their judgement) not influenced by personal feelings or opinions in considering and representing facts: Not dependent on the mind for existence; actual: This is important because if you can’t see factually, what the issues are, not what you think they may be, then you could go down the wrong path.

3. Once you knew the problem you were solving, how did you grow it into what it is today? When I knew what the main problem was that I was solving, I had to then understand what the key targets were for my business, that I needed to be hit. I needed to get physicians and insurance companies to know who I was, and I had to get them to see that I was the best solution to their problem. For example, I worked out a schedule for how many doctors needed to be seen per day by my sales people and for a period of 2 years, I met with my sales team every morning, come rain or shine, to make sure that these targets were being hit daily. I wasn’t willing to wait until the end of the week to see if our targets were being hit or not. This created a huge sense of urgency in the company that we needed to get to the goals we set, and everyone from the top going down had their attention on it daily. To this day, I have my key targets that I watch and I am on top of them daily. I never let those things slip and that’s a paramount reason we have had 95% growth yearover-year. Key takeaways: This is just one example of urgency. Vick is known for wanting things done today and not tomorrow. He has very little patience for waiting and feels that when you inject time into the equation of business or life, not as many things happen. Vick feels that some Entrepreneurs today don’t put things on the fast track and choose to inject time into it. Then what happens is a project that could be done in 2 months, actually ends up taking 6 months or longer. Lastly, don’t wait for perfection, once you have a workable product, start.

Es tan fácil mirar hacia otro lado, ¿no?La mayoría de nosotros nos despertamos con un techo sobre nuestra cabeza, viviendo una vida cómoda, nuestros hijos van a la escuela, tenemos trabajos, tenemos amigos, cenas con la familia, disfrutamos de vacaciones y nos sentimos seguros la mayoría del tiempo. Bueno, no todo el mundo en este país tiene esa fortuna. Podría hablar de muchas minorías, pero quiero compartir mi experiencia como inmigrante, y quiero hacerlo porque no creo que sea clara para algunos de ustedes. Ser inmigrante significa que dejaste tupaís, dejaste a tu familia y amigos, dejaste lo que era familiar para empezar de nuevo en otro país tratando de alcanzar un sueño por un futuro mejor, a veces solo para sentirte a salvo, para no despertar con el ruido de una bomba cerca, o porque en nuestro país nose puede encontrar atención médica, trabajo, libertad, una mejor vida, la felicidad, éxito, educación o donde invertir, nunca hay una razón simple. Significa no saber cuándo y cómo podrás abrazar a tu abuela, a tu hija, a tu mejor amigo.

Most ofus wake up with a roof over our heads, living a comfortable life, our children goto school, we have jobs, we have friends, family dinners, we enjoy vacations and we feel safe most of the time. Well, not everybody in this country has that fortune. I could talk about many minorities, but I want to share my experience asan immigrant, and I want todoit because I donot think that itis clear to some of you. Being an immigrant means that you left your country, you left your family and friends, you left what it was familiar to you to start again in another country trying to achieve a dream for a better future, sometimes just to feel yourself safe, and not to wake up with the noise from a nearby bomb, or because inour country you cannot find medical care, work, freedom, a better life, happiness, success, education or where to invest, there is never a simple reason. It means that you do not know when and how you willbe able to hug your grandmother, your daughter, your best friend.

A veces significa ir a unpaís que habla un idioma diferente, así es que desde el principio se siente uno perdido, asustado, fuera de lugar. ¿Te imaginas lo difícil que es comprar comida, obtener direcciones, ira un médico, llenar un formulario o hacer nuevos amigos? ¡Conseguir un trabajo es una historia completamente diferente! No importa quién o qué era ensu país, no importa cuantos diplomas o posgrados dela universidad usted tiene, porque cuando usted necesita comer, alimentar a sus hijos, pagar el alquiler, usted tomará cualquier trabajo y con ése, cualquier paga. ¡Las barreras culturales trascienden en cada uno de los aspectos desu vida! Sus valores y principios se ven desafiados por los de este nuevo país enel que está viviendo ahora. Pero tiene que adaptarse, tiene que hacer que funcione sin perder su identidad enel proceso. Por lo tanto, el primer paso es aprender el idioma, muchos refugiados e inmigrantes toman clases de ESL enel colegio comunitario. ¡Yolo hice! Pero encontrar el tiempo entre los trabajos y, a veces cuidar de su familia puede ser my difícil, más aun para los que no están alfabetizados en su lengua materna. Se vive con miedo de ser deportado, incluso si es legal. Antes de convertirme en ciudadana americana, mas veces de las que quisiera recorder me detuvieron enel aeropuerto al regresar a los Estados Unidos cuando venía de visitar mipaís o de vacaciones. Fui interrogada y registrada sólo porque era una inmigrante. He sentido discriminación, intolerancia y racismo personalmente. Recuerdo claramente una ocasión en San Luis, Missouri, cuando fui a una tienda a buscar unvestido. Yo estaba embarazada demi hija Thalia, pero mi barriga todavía lo suficientemente pequeña para usar ropa de tallas normales. Entré y pregunté a laseñorita que trabajaba ahí, enno tan buen Inglés, porun vestido que teníanenla vitrina. Inmediatamente laseñorita me dijo, sin siquiera buscar, que no teníanmitalla. Le pedí otro vestido y la respuesta fue la misma. Recuerdo la manera grosera y despectiva enla que me hablo. Por tercera vez le pedí unvestido diferente y obtuve la misma respuesta, entonces medi cuenta de que ella nome quería allí así queme fui. Cuando llegue a casa, el que era mi esposo en ese entonces, me preguntó si había conseguido el vestido que quería, yo le expliqué que no teníanmi talla en ningún vestido dela tienda. A él le pareció difícil de creer así que fue a la

Sometimes it means going to a country where a different language is spoken, so from the beginning one feels lost, scared, and out of place. Can you imagine how difficult itistobuy food, getting directions, going to a doctor, filling out a form or making new friends? Getting a job is completely a different story! No matter who or what you were in your country, nomatter how many diplomas from college or postgraduate studies you have gotten, because when you need to eat, feed your children, pay rent, you will take any job and with that job, you’llget any payment. Cultural barriers transcend every aspectof your life! Your values and principles are challenged by the ones from this new country where you are living now. But you have to adapt yourself, you have to make it work without losing your identity in the process. Therefore, the first step isto learn the language, many refugees and immigrants take ESL classes at the community college. I did it! But finding the time between jobs and sometimes taking care of your family can be very difficult, especially for those who are not literate in their mother tongue. A person lives infearof being deported, even if he/she is legal. Before becoming a US citizen, so many times more than what I would like to remember, they stopped meat the airport when I returned to the United States from visiting my country or I was on vacation. I was interrogated and they registered me only because I was an immigrant. Personally, I have felt discrimination, intolerance and racism. I clearly remember one occasion in St. Louis, Missouri, when I went to a store toget a dress. I was pregnant with my daughter Thalia, butmy belly was still small enough to wear normal size clothes. I came in the store and I asked the lady who was working there, with not so good English, for a dress they had in the case. Immediately the lady told me, without even looking for the dress, that they did not have my size. I asked for another dress and the answer was thesame. I remember the rude and derogatory way in which she spoke tome. For the third time I asked her for a different dress and I got the same answer, then I realized that she did not want me there, so I left. When I got home, the one who was my husband at the time, asked meif I had gotten the dress I wanted, I explained him that they did not have my size inany dress of the store. He found it hard to believe sohe went to the store and he asked for the dress in medium size in the showcase. The saleswoman brought him that dress and two more of the same size. I stood waiting outside the store. Pointing at me, he asked her why when I was there earlier, she had told me that they did

En ese entonces yo sabía hablar portugués, español y un poco de italiano, ahora lo hablo fluido. Muchos años más tarde recuerdo estar en una recaudación de fondos para una candidata política enla hermosa casa de una familia muy conocida en Las Vegas. Uno de los invitados derramó el vino tinto enla alfombra hermosa de piel blanca. La señora dela casa llamó a laempleada de servicio para que lo limpiaran. Yo estaba de pie, cerca de donde había pasado elincidente, así que podía oír y ver la interacción.La muchacha parecía asustada mientras la señora dela casa le hablaba de manera condescendiente. Cuando la dejaron sola, me acerqué a ella y en españolle dije “usa un poco de club soda o agua gaseada, saldrá de inmediato.” La jóven me miró primero sorprendida, tal vez porque hablaba su idioma y luego otra vez asustada, tal vez con miedo de ser sorprendida por su patrona hablando con un invitado. No entendí en realidad el por qué, así que volví a donde estaba. La mancha salió y cuando la señora dela casa volvió a comprobar si la muchacha se había ocupado dela mancha le dije eningles: ¡La mancha se salió! Ella me miró un poco fastidiada y me preguntó qué había dicho, a lo que le repetí “ La mancha salió’’ ella me miró por encima del hombro y dijo: tienes un acento muy pesado y no entiendo lo que estas diciendo” se dio la media y vuelta y me dejo parada con la palabra enla boca. Yo no estaba sola en ese evento, mi esposo acaba de dar un cheque muy generoso, éramos sus invitados, tanto el marido como la mujer dueñosdela casa habíansido muy amables con mi esposo, sin embargo ella no sentía que tenía que ser cortés conmigo. Entonces entendí que no era mi acento ni mi inglés. Esta señora no sabía quién era yo, pero tampoco quería saberlo. Los que me conocen bien, saben que yo vengo delo que llamamos en mi país una buena familia, tuve la fortuna deir a las mejores

One of the guests spilled out the red wine on the beautiful rug of white hide. The lady of the house called the maid to have it cleaned. I was standing nearwhere the incident occurred, so I could hear and see the interaction. The girl looked frightened as the lady of the house spoke to her condescendingly. When they left her alone, I approached toher and in Spanish I said “use some club soda or gassed water, itwill clean it immediately.” The young woman looked atme first in surprise, perhaps because I was speaking her language and then she was again frightened, perhaps she was afraid tobe surprised byher patroness while talking to a guest. I did not really understand why, so I went back to where I was. The stain left and when the lady of the house checked again if the girl had taken care of the stain I said in English: The stain went out! She looked atme a little annoyed and asked me what did I say, to which I repeated “The stain came out” she looked atme over her shoulder and said: you have a very heavy accent and I do not understand what you are saying “ She turned back and I left standing up with the word inmy mouth. I was not alone at that event, my husband had just given a very generous check, we were his guests, both the husband and wife, owners of the house, had been very kind tomy husband, however she did not feel she had tobe polite with me. Then I understood that it was notmy accent ormy English. This lady did not know who I was, but she did not want to know it. Those who know me well, know that I come from what wecall a good family inmy country, I was fortunate togoto the best schools, I traveled around the world from a very young age, I had a very comfortable childhood and I was exposed to art, Literature and culture, my parents spoke five languages among other things, but even if those things

Yo era, soy y sere sóloun inmigrante para ellos, así que ¿porqué molestarse en averiguar si soy algo mas? Por esas personas siento empatía porque sé lo que se necesita para construir un futuro en otro país, ¡Ellas nolo saben! ¡Sé el trabajo y esfuerzo que me tomó darles a mis hijas una buena vida y educación! Sé lo que cuesta tragarse el orgullo porque al final lo que importa y lo que vale es más grande que los comentarios y las miradas. Se necesita coraje para dejar sus raíces! Se necesita coraje y valentía para empezar de nuevo enun lugar donde desde el momento en que llegamos tenemos las probabilidades en contra de nosotros. ¡Sin embargo, lo hacemos! ¡No es fácil ser inmigrante! Así que lapróxima vez que se sienta inclinado a decir algo acerca de nosotros, tenga en cuenta todos los desafíos que tenemos, toda las batallas que hemos luchado y todos los obstáculos en nuestro camino, todas las dificultades que superamos todos los días, recuerde que somos increíblemente fuertes, apasionados y agradecidos porlaoportunidad de estar en los Estados Unidos.

I know what it costs to swallow your pride because at the end what really matters and what isworth, itis bigger than the comments and looks. It takes courage to leave your roots! It takes courage and bravery to start again in a place where, since the first moment we arrived here, all probabilities are against us. However we get courage! It’s not easy tobean immigrant! So the next time you feel inclined to say something about us, take into account all the challenges we have, all the battles we have fought and all the obstacles in our way, all the difficulties that we overcome every day, remember that we are incredibly strong, passionate and grateful for the opportunity of being in the United States.

In January of 2017 the book “Oscar de la Hoya, The Golden Man” will go on sale.

Feliz fin de año a todos los aficionados del boxeo en el mundo entero, como muchos saben soy reportero de boxeo y tengo fascinación por narrar vida y milagros de deportistas que han dejado huella en este emocionante deporte de las guantadas, por eso he dedicado mucho tiempo en parte a la investigación minuciosa, primero de la vida de un personaje muy popular que no ocupa mucha introducción porque fue un gran campeón, y logre hacer mi sueño realidad de escribir un libro sobre Julio César Chávez titulado, El César del Boxeo, en realidad sólo se hicieron 3000 copias, de las cuales se distribuyeron en México, Estados Unidos y España, pero a mí me quedo la gran satisfacción de que no solo fuera un proyecto incompleto.

Happy new Year’s Eve to all boxing fans around the world, as many know I am a boxing reporter and I have a fascination for narrating the life and miracles of sportsmen and women who have left a mark in this exciting sport of boxing, for I spent a lot of time on meticulous research, first on the life of a very popular character that does not need much of an introduction because he was a great champion, and managed to make my dream of writing a book about Julio Cesar Chavez come true; titled “El César Of Boxing” in fact only 3000 copies were made which were distributed in Mexico, the United States and Spain, but to me it remains the greatest satisfaction of having completed this project.

El libro también se ofreció en audio de 4 horas (mp3), y sólo para la información del público tenia listo el guión para una película basada sobre mi libro, porque han de saber que ya estaba el proyecto en Hollywood, pero todo se vino por los suelos cuando el actor Diego Luna sacó su documental JC Chávez, por cierto el actor tomó unas fotos de mi libro sin mi permiso y las publicó en su proyecto, con todo y pie de foto, pero lo que Dios no lo puso para uno no es de uno, así de fácil.

The book was also offered in a 4-hour audio (mp3), and just for informative purposes I had the movie script based on my book ready, as the project was already in Hollywood, but everything came crashing down when the actor Diego Luna published his documentary JC Chávez. Which by the way, the actor took some photos of my book without my permission and published them in his project, captioned and everything, but I guess what’s not meant to be, it’s not meant to be.

Ahora vuelvo al ruedo con la impresión de otra obra literaria, El Hombre de Oro sobre Oscar de la Hoya, espero alguien se anime a llevarlo a la pantalla grande, porque se vale soñar y seguiré soñando hasta que el Señor me de vida.

Después de la tormenta como siempre llega la calma, y para Jessie Vargas, quien sí tuvo el privilegio de llegar al ring ante alguien importante internacionalmente como Manny Pacquiao, pero no pudo superar los pronósticos en su perjuicio y fue superado en la puntuación oficial el 5 de noviembre. Manny recuperó el trono y retorna a su oficina de senador y pronto dará instrucciones de cuándo, dónde y quien será su siguiente contrincante. Jessie no puso excusas para cubrir su derrota y si se presentó en la conferencia ante la prensa, para contestar todas sus preguntas sobre el combate y sobre su futuro en el boxeo, y si le consuela el saber que fue hueso duro de roer, que Manny la pensó dos que tres veces para entrar en lo angosto, porque sabía que una diestra estaba al pendiente de provocar cloroformo, Vargas dijo su opinión de no haber descifrado el guion del laberinto en referencia al estilo de Pacquiao. -Es muy rápido de pies y manos, entra y desaparece en un instante, pero sentí que la pelea estaba más paralela. These signals are then interpreted by the computer, allowing the woman to compose words, one letter at a time.

In my brief time with the watch, I couldn’t tell if it would stay charged long-term. But I saw the watch would charge its little energy bar when it was on my wrist, and the display showed the time and how many steps I’d taken. One benefit to using thermoelectrics in the Matrix PowerWatch could be calorie reading: Tham says that the ability to measure thermal energy expended will make the watch the best wrist-worn calorimeter on the market. The display on the test watch I tried had really small text, and it didn’t always register my body heat to charge -something that may have had to do with the temperature of the room I was in, or maybe because it was an early prototype. Once I started running in place a bit, it seemed to work better. The watch goes into low-power sleep mode when not being worn. According to Tham, once it’s charged it could last in high-power mode for two years, and in a sleep state “for decades.” Of course, it sounds too good to be true, but the Matrix watch’s Indiegogo campaign is alive and kicking, and Matrix intends the watch to ship next summer for $160. According to Tham, the Matrix technology works off any temperature gradient: cold to hot, hot to cold. On my wrist, it’s the heat of my skin compared with the room temperature. Tham told me Matrix’s tech is also being applied to industrial applications like powering internet-of-things sensors in rooms, and there’s research into possible uses in medical implants. The Matrix watch is the first piece of consumer technology attempting to use this power-generating concept. It’s still really low-power: It can’t track heart rate, just steps and time. The watch can’t generate enough energy to run a more advanced smartwatch like an Apple Watch. Strangely, the watch doesn’t use kinetic energy or solar power, two technologies that already exist to help keep traditional watches running without charging. Tham says these are also being explored, and that temperature gradients combined with other technology like solar charging and kinetic energy storage could maybe go further in the future.I can’t judge something like the PowerWatch from a brief demo. But if it works and a fitnesstracking watch can be powered off body heat, it could mean something for low-powered basic fitness trackers down the road.

While cybershopping eliminates the hassle of long lines and searching for a parking spot, it’s important to be cautious in your online activity: in 2015, there were more than one million web attacks by hackers every day. From what I’ve observed, cybercrime gets amped up even more around the holidays because consumers are more focused on finding the perfect gift instead of making sure they are taking the right precautions to protect themselves against cybercriminals. Common security prevention measures such as frequent changing of passwords, up-to-date virus protections and refraining from posting sensitive personal information on social media sites can help prevent you from getting swindled during the holidays. But cybercriminals are becoming more sophisticated, adopting corporate best practices and establishing professional businesses to increase the efficiency of their attacks. One common way cybercriminals lure unsuspecting holiday shoppers away from trusted websites is through click-jacking4 or concealing hyperlinks beneath links that look legitimate but actually take the user to a site that downloads malware onto their device. This can expose shoppers to ransomware, one of the more popular and deceptive cons that target consumers and businesses alike. T he number of these attacks rose 58 percent during the second quarter of 2015 alone5 and can affect computers, smartphones, wearable devices and even appliances like smart TVs. This is a growing concern year-round as more consumers turn to online shopping not just for gifts, but for everything from daily household items to appliances to groceries. In a category historically dominated by brick-and-mortar regulars like Walmart, Amazon has grown to be the largest retailer in the world7 and has retained that position as e-commerce continues to grow overall. A University of Phoenix® College of Information Systems and Technology survey finds that over half (52%) of Wi-Fi users outside the home or office agree that the convenience of using public Wi-Fi outweigh any potential risks involved.
