We are proud to issue the very first edition of Mi Mundo Magazine San Diego!! Even though it is only available electronically at this time. Veronica Saldivar is the founder of Mi Mundo Magazine. Her passion for a publication of this caliber in both of her native languages (Spanish and English) is infectious and is it what compels others to get involved. Mark Hackmann the CEO of Prestige Worldwide Media LLC., spent three and half years in San Diego completing his Juris Doctor at Thomas Jefferson School of Law. During this time, he spent many hours across the border in Tijuana and also developed quite a network of friends who are first or second generation citizens from Mexico, including many at the County of San Diego Treasurer-Tax Collector’s office who helped him brush up on his Spanish. Jon Lootens is the non-managing partner and investor that brought these two together. Growing up in the cornfields of Illinois, Jon has always loved Southern California and in particular, San Diego. He jumped at the opportunity to become part of this community. Jon maintains a hands off position as he continues to excel in his career at Las Vegas Sands Corp. Because of the eclectic but proud culture of San Diego, there is no better place to release this next edition. Mi Mundo Magazine is San Diego’s premier bilingual publication. BALI HAI restaurant is located on the point of Shelter Island, overlooking the channel and all the vessels that sail past every day. Long established as one of the premier viewing spots in San Diego, this glorious building with its famed dome roof is a refreshing place to dine. I have eaten there for over 35 years most every time I return to where I lived and owned my own restaurant, right down the street. The menu is mainly seafood, refreshing with ingredients from the many tropical isles. The Thai Coconut Soup with fresh straw mushrooms and coconut milk is a strong starter. BALI HAI is famous for their excellently grilled salmon with fresh string beans and a soothing warm mustard sauce. One can walk to the point, sit on the grass, or take pictures on the giant sea anchor outside the door. The tropical atmosphere makes one feel they are in Hawaii. Lots of parking, a great place to dine and then walk off your fabulous meal along the water on the whole of Shelter Island.

El restaurante BALI HAI está ubicado en el punto de Shelter Island, omitiendo el canal y todos los buques que zarpan todos los días. Hace algún tiempo establecido como uno de los primeros puntos de vista en San Diego, este glorioso edificio con su famoso techo de cúpula es un refrescante lugar para cenar. When you first arrive at Briar Rose Winery, you blink your eyes and think you are dreaming. Then you blink again and see that you’ve stepped in to a Brother’s Grimm fairytale, high in the Swiss Alps. With authentic Snow White cottages all around you and music from Cinderella serenading you as you enter the winery, you really have stepped in to a true piece of Disney history, in the city of Temecula in Southern California.

Cuando llegas por primera vez a la viña Briar Rose, no le crees a tus ojos, y piensas que estás soñando. Luego parpadeas otra vez y ves que estás parado en un cuento de hadas de los hermanos Grimm en los Alpes Suizos. I first met one of the owners, Dorian Linkogle at a travel show in San Diego. She invited me to tour the winery and never being one to say no to a new unique experience, I said yes. And unique it was.

Briar Rose is named after the Grimm’s version of Sleeping Beauty. It is a small winery, hidden among numerous others in Temecula. The entryway is a waterfall with cascading sounds of rain water soothing you as you glide into the tasting room.

Briar Rose es nombrada por la versión de la Bella Durmiente de los Hermanos Grimm. Es una pequeña viña escondida entre numerosas otras en Temécula. El camino de entrada es una cascada, con sonidos en cascada de agua cayendo de forma relajante mientras te deslizas dentro de la habitación de cata.

In 1968, Belden Fields, one of the creators of Disneyland, decided to give his wife a present. He built the Snow White cottages with thatched roofs among a huge grove of olive and orange trees. Callaway, his closet neighbor at the time, made a gift to him of one of his olive trees for a 25 cent delivery fee when the groves were torn out to make way for the current day vineyards. This tree, which still produces olives, is the oldest olive tree in Southern California. Throughout the winery, there are original artworks, statues, and hidden messages in the plaster of the cottage walls which are only visible at sunset. In the 1980’s, Dorian and Les Linogle lived in Orange County, but were looking for property in a remote area to fulfill their lifelong dream of owning a winery. A realtor called, saying an owner of a very rare property was ready to sell and they needed to meet her at 8:30 the next morning. But then they arrived, they couldn’t get the key to work. They peered in the windows, walked around, fell in love, and made their off offer of full price. Mr. Fields said that whoever purchased the property had to make a commitment to leave the property as it was as long as he remained alive. Briar Rose, as we know it today, opened in 2007 and produces some of the most award winning wines in Temecula. Briar Rose wines have won numerous international competitions in the $100 and over category and have been served at the Playboy Mansion and the White House for Presidential Inaugurations. Temecula is located in southwest Riverside County and could easily intrigue you for all of three days. If you need a nice hotel to stay in that won’t totally take your budget, try the Ramada Inn at 951-676-8770. Right in the heart of the wineries, this is the perfect place to stay. En 1968, Belden Fields, uno de las creadores de Disneyland decidió darle a su esposa un regalo. Construyó cabañas de Blanca Nieves con techos de paja entre una enorme arboleda de olivos y árboles de naranja. Callaway; su vecino secreto en ese entonces, hizo un regalo para él en uno de sus árboles de olivo por una cuota de entrega de 25 centavos cuando las arboledas se arrancaran para hacer espacio para los viñedos actuales. Un agente inmobiliario llamó, diciendo que el dueño de una muy rara propiedad estaba listo para vender y necesitaban verla a las 8:30 a la mañana siguiente. Pero cuando llegaron, no pudieron obtener la clave para trabajar. Miraron por las ventanas, caminaron alrededor, se enamoraron e hicieron su oferta final por el precio completo. In March 2017, San Diego ComicCon International announced plans to open a museum of popular culture in Balboa Park under an agreement with the San Diego Hall of Champions sports museum and its Breitbard Hall of Fame, currently located in the urban park. The Breitbard Hall of Fame, which commemorates decades of San Diego sports heroes, will move to major league baseball’s Petco Park in the historic Western Metal Building and many of the historical items in the Hall of Champions will be housed at the San Diego History Center in Balboa Park. The sports museum occupied the former Federal Building that was built for the California-Pacific International Exposition of 1935. Although the Comic-Con Center for Popular Culture does not plan to house permanent collections, it will host a program of rotating exhibitions on comics and movies culled from collectors, museums, galleries and other sources. Organizers aim to provide a year-round interactive celebration of the innumerable aspects of popular art.

The San Diego Zoo broke ground in August 2016 on a new eightacre exhibit called Africa Rocks, which is scheduled to open in early summer 2017. The largest in the 100-year-old zoo’s history, the expansion is a $68 million project that will transform 1930s-era grottos and enclosures (formerly known as Cat and Dog Canyon) with new habitats for African plant and animal species that range from savanna to shore. Africa Rocks will transform what was previously a steep canyon into a gently winding, ADA-accessible pathway through a West African forest, acacia woodlands, Ethiopian highlands, kopje gardens and a Madagascar habitat. A new website features an interactive timeline showcasing the zoo’s history, growth, innovation, expansion, and goal to end species extinction.

In May 2017, SeaWorld San Diego plans to open a new, multi-million dollar attraction that will take park visitors on an exciting ocean expedition highlighting scientific exploration. Ocean Explorer will contain multiple aquariums and rides that use state-of-the-art digital technologies to inspire park visitors to protect the wonders of our oceans. Guests will travel aboard submarines on a 2 mission to collect data and learn how they can help animals. This three-minute experience will include an onboard digital navigation dashboard, as well as a few other surprises along the journey, enhancing the riders’ understanding of the ocean ecosystem. The heart of Ocean Explorer will be a series of undersea research bases housing specially-designed aquariums, known as research pods, and interactive activities displaying unique and elusive ocean animals. Guests can also experience an exhilarating wave swing ride that flies through thousands of real bubbles in chairs suspended from the tentacles of a giant sea jelly. Three additional family-friendly rides will round out this immersive, new attraction. Construction on Ocean Explorer began in summer 2016 on a three-acre site on the southeast side of the park. The final phase of Ocean Explorer is the 2018 debut of the Electric Eel Coaster. This adrenaline-pumping coaster will offer riders the only upside-down view of Mission Bay.

This summer, Balboa Park museums will come alive after 5:00 p.m. The Balboa Park After Dark program adds to the evening bustle of organ pavilion concerts, dance and theater performances and restaurant activity, with numerous institutions in the park offering extended hours on select evenings from May 26–Sept. 1, 2017. The following organizations will stay open until 8 p.m. on Fridays: Fleet Science Center, Japanese Friendship Garden, Mingei International Museum, Museum of Photographic Arts, San Diego Art Institute, San Diego Museum of Man, San Diego Natural History Museum, Spanish Village Art Center, and The San Diego Museum of Art. Special programming and entertainment during these evening hours will be announced, and Food Truck Fridays in the park returns on June 2 and will run through September 2017. From April 7–Dec. 31, 2017, Birch Aquarium at Scripps in La Jolla showcases the Infinity Cube, a new, immersive installation that explores bioluminescence. The exhibit combines glowing creatures with worldclass science, high-tech projection and an original soundscape. For three months, London-based artist Iyvone Khoo worked alongside Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego scientist Michael Latz in an effort to better understand the role of bioluminescence— light produced by living organisms— in the marine environment. They filmed more than six hours of footage of single-celled marine organisms called dinoflagellates reacting to various stimulants, such as the human heartbeat, music, water flow, and air pressure. Those videos have become the basis of the Infinity Cube, an 8-foot cube that surrounds guests in projected and reflected larger-than-life images of bioluminescence accompanied by a soundscape.

VENICE BEACH No beach in the world is like Venice Beach. Sure, other California beaches have sand, surf and sunshine. But they do not have a 3-ring urban street circus, complete with philosophizing artists, preening weightlifters, barefoot sand sculptors and more. All of this frenetic activity happens on the Ocean Front Walk, a concrete pedestrian-only boardwalk promenade that features performers, mystics, stores, fastfood spots, flea markets and artists. Venice is a residential, commercial and recreational beachfront neighborhood on the Westside of the city of Los Angeles. It was founded in 1905 as a seaside resort town. Today, Venice is known for its canals, beaches, and Ocean Front Walk.

EL MATADOR STATE BEACH El Matador’s low-key location and craggy, coastal terrain will make you feel as if you have happened upon someplace special. This Pacific Coast Highway pit stop is a local favorite for its secluded feel, multiple tide pools and striking ocean caves. There is blissfully little else to do here. The best way to enjoy your time is to check the tide schedule, pack a picnic lunch or sunset dinner, grab a blanket, and trek down to one of its hidden nooks and coves to enjoy the incredibly romantic atmosphere. The beach is beautiful in every direction with long stretches of sand, sea caves and massive rocks, birds and seaweed covered stones. The main attraction here is the massive rock that has a series of small arches. A few of them are big enough to walk though and others you would have to crawl under. This beach is especially amazing at golden hour when the sun is setting in the distance and lighting up the beach with a golden hue.

North Beach attracts surfers in the morning, and at the extreme north is Dog Beach, where leash less canines can frolic in the surf. This expansive San Diego coast is so dreamy, it starred alongside Marilyn Monroe in “Some Like it Hot.” It is popular with families and couples for its calm ocean waters, clean sands and legendary sunsets. Plus, the ocean is only a short distance from the popular Gaslamp Quarter (with top hotels and restaurants) in downtown San Diego.

CRYSTAL COVE STATE PARK Is a state park encompassing 3.2 miles (5.1 km) of Pacific coastline, inland chaparral canyons, and the Crystal Cove Historic District of beach houses. The park is located in Newport Beach. Crystal Cove is a stretch of coastal cliffs and a beachfront cove situated between the Pacific Coast Highway and the Pacific Ocean just north of Laguna Beach. The 3,936-acre (1,593 ha) park was established in 1979. The entire park hosts a secluded beach stretching some 3.5 miles, an official “underwater park” teeming with reefs, 400 acres of bluffs, 2,400 acres of canyons and 2,000-plus wooded acres for exploring and make a remarkable escape from the crowds and bustle of Newport Harbor. Tide pools and coves delight visitors to the beach year-round, though rangers advise exploration of these during winter, when lower tides present clearer views of the aquatic life. Carved into the park’s ridges and canyons are more than 23 miles of mountain-biking, horseback-riding and hiking trails, many of which feature steep, rocky climbs.

Crystal Cove es un tramo de acantilados costeros y una ensenada frente a la playa situada entre el Pacific Coast Highway y el Océano Pacífico justo al norte de Laguna Beach. CATALINA ISLAND Located 22 miles off the Southern California coast, Catalina Island is known for its myriad of outdoor activities like snorkeling, scuba, horseback-riding, kayaking and hiking. After an active day, stroll around the quaint social center of the island at Avalon for windowshopping, gallery-hopping and a gourmet meal. Bring a camera as photo opportunities present themselves at almost every turn. Getting here is easy with travel time to the Island as little as 15 minutes by air or one hour by boat. Boats depart from Newport Beach, Long Beach, San Pedro and Dana Point. Catalina Island boasts a year-round Mediterranean climate, with warm, sunny days and cool evening breezes. Summer temperatures average 75 degrees, while winter temperatures average 65 degrees. The sun shines an average of 267 days a year. Average rainfall is 12 inches per year. When you are looking for an employee or someone to work with, what do you look for? Sure, you are looking for someone apt and knowledgeable, maybe someone with experience and other good qualities, however, I have realized that many companies and businesses make the mistake of paying more for the wrong things, and they invest a lot of time and money in people who, although they have a lot of knowledge in the desired area, do not necessarily have the best personality or values. Nowadays, the first thing that companies and businesses are looking for is a university degree, completed studies and/ or experience in the area. All this is important, however, it is not the most essential. The truth is that although knowledge is worth a lot, attitude is worth more. No matter how much knowledge you have or how much you know how to do, if you do not have the right attitude and the right values, you will not give your ultimate best. No matter what your area of work, everything requires a set of joint efforts. A company or business is as strong as its weakest employee, and not necessarily in terms of knowledge, but in regards to attitude. Knowledge can be gained and aptitude can be increased but attitude is what makes all the difference. It is what attracts customers or drives them away, it is what creates you allies or what makes you enemies. Attitude is what helps you or destroys you.

Cuándo buscas un empleado o alguien con quien trabajar ¿Que buscas? Claro, buscas a alguien apto y con conocimiento, tal vez alguien con experiencia y buenas cualidades para que se pueda incorporar al trabajo y desempeñarlo de manera eficiente. Sin embargo, me he dado cuenta que muchas empresas y negocios cometen el error de pagar por las aptitudes equivocadas e invierten mucho tiempo y dinero en personas que aunque tienen mucho conocimiento en el área deseada, no necesariamente tienen la personalidad y los valores adecuados. Hoy en día lo primero que buscan las empresas y los negocios es un título de Universidad, estudios completados y/o experiencia en el área. Todo esto es importante, sin embargo no es lo más esencial. La realidad es que aunque el conocimiento vale mucho, la actitud vale más. No importa que tantos conocimientos tengas y que tanto sepas hacer, si no tienes la actitud correcta y los valores adecuados no vas a rendir a lo máximo. Sin importar a que te dediques, todo se requiere de un conjunto de esfuerzos. Una empresa o negocio es tan fuerte como su empleado más débil, y no necesariamente en cuanto a conocimientos, sino en cuanto a actitud. La actitud es lo que hace toda la diferencia. Es lo que consigue clientes o hace que los pierdas, es lo que te crea aliados o lo que te hace enemigos. La actitud es lo que te ayuda o te destruye.

When you have an employee who has the right attitude you can teach him knowledge, give him experience and show him/her how to carry out any job responsibility in any area, but when you have a worker who knows a lot and does not have the right attitude you cannot teach him to have this. You can motivate him to improve, but you cannot transform people you cannot change who they are, that’s up to them. Positive and helpful attitudes are not taught, they are found and valued. A person with a desire to work, willing to learn and strong sense of responsibility is not bought he/she is valued.

Cuando tienes a un empleado que tiene la actitud correcta puedes enseñarle conocimientos, darle experiencia y ayudarlo a desempeñar cualquier puesto en la área necesaria, pero cuando tienes un trabajador que sabe mucho y no tiene la actitud correcta no le puedes enseñar a tenerla. Podrás motivarlo para mejorar pero no puedes transformar a las personas si no les nace.

It is easy to find someone prepared, someone who has gained knowledge in a school or university, but it is difficult to find someone who has learned to be disciplined, who is concerned in really improving their attitude and personality. It is difficult to find someone who cares more about developing better character traits in themselves than increasing their salary. It is easier to find someone with experience in the area you require, than someone with the attitude you need. But not impossible

Es fácil encontrar alguien preparado, alguien que haya obtenido conocimiento en una escuela o universidad, pero es difícil encontrar alguien que se haya preocupado por ser disciplinado, que se ocupen en realmente mejorar su actitud y personalidad. Es difícil encontrar a alguien que se preocupe más por formar su persona y su carácter que por aumentar su sueldo. Es más fácil encontrar a alguien con experiencia en el área que requieres, que alguien con la actitud que necesitas. Pero no imposible.

you may be able to encourage it, but not build it inside them. The problem is that the qualities and characteristics that used to be valued are now less appreciated. What many places are looking for now, are degrees, a fancy CV, and a pile of paperwork that proves what you learned and who you say you are. Now, I’m not saying these things are not important, of course they matter, but we shouldn´t leave behind the aspects that are just as important, if not more. Let´s value a good attitude, true effort, and the ability work well with others. Because this is what makes things grow. Everything else can be learned but you cannot change the essence of a person. A good seed that is watered and tended to will grow and bear fruit, but a bad seed, no matter how carefully it is cared for, will not give as much. If you have the right attitude you can go far but if you work with other people who also share that mentality and positivity you can achieve even more than you realize. I challenge every entrepreneur, owner, and visionary to try and seek persons with the right attitude over those that just have abundant knowledge. You may have to teach them the rest, but I assure you that they will learn soon and you will get better results. Never forget that no matter where you are standing, the right attitude will take you further than knowledge.

How has your career been in the art world? It star from an early age. I was a very creative girl and I liked to be always inventing something. The colors, the textures, the forms, attracted me to achieve harmony in some design that I composed. I have never stopped since then. In every way, art is always part of my life. I tried to study dentistry in Buenos Aires, many years ago, but I never finished the career. Whit the pass of time I decided that the experience of going to the university is something that we all have the right to do. It is enriching. So I returned to this privilege and I ended up graduating from Designer at California State University (CSULA). How did you inspire yourself to do Thinking Panties? More than 20 years ago when I came to this country, I found it very difficult to get panties of my size, so I had to bring some from Buenos Aires . It always seemed to me that the intimate clothing identified a lot of our mood ... From the one of cotton, super worn with which we felt comfortable on a day of rain watching the TV

¿Cómo ha sido tu trayectoria en el mundo del arte? Comienza desde pequeña. Era una niña muy creativa y me gustaba estar siempre inventando algo. Los colores, las texturas, las formas, me atraían para lograr armonía en algún diseño que componía. Nunca he parado desde entonces. En un área u otra, el arte es siempre parte de mi vida. Aunque en Buenos Aires, muchos años atrás, mis estudios universitarios se dirigieron a la odontología, nunca terminé la carrera. Con el tiempo decidí que la experiencia de pasar por la Universidad es algo que todos tendríamos el derecho de poder hacer. Es enriquecedor y no importa la profesion que uno elija. I am an entrepreneur Latina, proud of my roots, someone who never forgets where she comes from and able to look forward, learning of my falls. This vision expands to the rest of my existence. Any family traditions? It is very important for me to teach to my children respect for the family and our Latino culture. They were born here and are more “gringos” than anything else, but they know very well where they come from. And I am proud to know that they speak and write in Spanish. The biggest one also speaks some Italian. What are the pleasures of life for you? Get up healthy every day. Be able to sit in my studio and work. Be in the middle of a recording in front of a camera. Travel and know new cities. I also enjoy reading enriching books, or being able to share good Italian food with family and friends, laughing until our belly hurts. Ok, I confess… go to shopping too. Hailing from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Fabiana is a blend of Italian & Basque descent. She calls Los Angeles her home. Fabiana is fluent in Spanish, English, and Italian.

¿Te consideras una mujer de negocios? Me considero una trabajadora persistente, amante de lo que hace. Debo admitir que me manejo más con el lado derecho de mi cerebro. Sé cuando debo dejar en manos de los que saben algunos aspectos de mi empresa. Lo cierto es que a través de los años he aprendido mucho más de negocios y el manejo de ellos. Algunos tips para otras mujeres que quieren incursionar en el mundo de la moda. El mundo de la moda es amplio y fascinante. En el área que quieran incursionar, lean, estudien, júntense con gente talentosa y con experiencia. Aunque a veces a uno le da un poco de pena acercarse a los grandes diseñadores de moda, en este caso, siempre estan dispuestos a dar concejos para tomar en cuenta. Escuchen a los que saben y muestran un estilo de vida acorde a lo que cuentan. Estén listas a equivocarse y arrancar nuevamente, eso es buenísimo. Es una excelente manera de aprender. ¿Cómo encuentras el balance entre tus trabajos y tu vida personal? Siempre he puesto a mi familia primero, sin duda alguna. Hoy en día que mis hijos están más grandes me permito viajar por períodos de tiempo extendidos. Por lo tanto, puedo hacer un balance mucho mas armonioso entre trabajo y familia. ¿Cómo te ves en 5 años? ¡Usando más Botox! (Risas). Fuera de broma, me sigo viendo creciendo como artista, empresaria y ser humano. Si me levanto y encuentro a mis hijos felices, a mis amigos, familia y afectos haciendo lo mejor que pueden en esta vida, el resto es todo mucho mas fácil. Soy una Latina emprendedora, orgullosa de mis raíces, alguien que jamás olvida de donde viene y de mirar hacia adelante, aprendiendo de las caídas. Esta visión se expande al resto de mi existencia. ¿Algunas tradiciones familiares? Creo que es muy importante para mi enseñarles a mis hijos el respeto a la familia y a nuestra cultura latina. Ellos nacieron aquí y son más “gringos” que otra cosa, pero saben muy bien de donde vienen. Y me enorgullese saber que hablan y escriben en español. El más grande, habla también un poco de italiano. Para ti, ¿cuáles son los placeres de la vida? Considero placeres o privilegios de la vida el levantarme sana cada día, el poder sentarme a crear en mi studio, estar en el medio de una grabación en frente a una cámara, viajar y conocer ciudades nuevas. Como también disfruto enormemente leer libros enriquecedores, o poder compratir una buena comida Italiana con familiares y amigos, riendo hasta que nos duela la panza. Ok, lo confieso… También ir de “shopping”. Proveniente de Buenos Aires, Argentina, Fabiana es una mezcla de ascendencia italiana y vasca, aunque actualemente su hogar es en Los Angeles. A woman who lived to talk about it. She prefers to remain anonymous for this post. However, her example of overcoming and tenacity now serves others who suffer from this overwhelming disease.

Una mujer que vivió para contarlo. Prefiere mantenerse anónima para esta publicación. No obstante, su ejemplo de superación y tenacidad ahora sirve a otras personas que padecen esta enfermedad tan agobiante.

This 36 year old woman is suffering from anorexia since she was 14 years old. She is tall, blond, light-eyed and thin build. She rescued her body and her original beauty after having gone through extreme thinness.

Esta mujer de 36 años sufre de anorexia desde los 14 años. Es alta, rubia, de ojos claros y contextura delgada. Rescató su cuerpo y su belleza original tras haber pasado por una delgadez extrema. Ella logró controlar este desorden alimenticio que no tiene cura real. Sino que en el mejor de los casos, al igual que otras patologías obsesivo compulsivas, llega a estabilizarse quedando en un plano pasivo.

She was able to control this eating disorder which does not have a real cure. But at best case, like other obsessive-compulsive pathologies, it becomes stabilized by remaining in a passive plane. Her family comes from Cali, Colombia. She studied in one of the most recognized schools in the city. She graduated in pedagogy. She is the mother of two beautiful daughters. Today she works teaching children with academic difficulties. She also designs jewelry. She has an active social life and what she considers most important is to help people who suffer from anorexia. She agreed to grant us this interview and surprised us with her strong and sincere answers, with ownership; those words from someone who has physically experienced the disease in her own flesh. What kind of words come to your mind when you think about anorexia? Agony, despair, fear, mortification, anxiety, rejection, satiety, fullness... For you, what does the word anorexia mean? It is an eating disorder, an imbalance between the mind and body; an unconsciously death sought ... a ghost from which you cannot

It is a not eating addiction; pretending to be thinner until it gets out of your hands. Everyone sees you are just showing your bones but you look at yourself in the mirror and you see that you are normal. Nobody can make you realize that you are dying little by little.

¿En qué momento una persona descubre que está sufriendo de esta enfermedad? Precisamente ese es uno de los aspectos más graves. Esta enfermedad se convierte en tu peor enemigo y tú eres el último en darte cuenta que lo que ocurre es real.

At what point does a person discover that he/she is suffering from this disease? That is exactly one of the most serious aspects. This disease becomes your worst enemy and you are the last one in realizing what is really happening. It is like a belated consciousness; which usually arrives when the process is very advanced.

Es como una conciencia tardía; que llega generalmente cuando el proceso está muy avanzado.

What kind of people are likely to suffer from this disease (men, women, children, adolescents)? Mainly young women, girls close to adolescence; because of that beauty stereotype that society imposes on us.

¿Qué tipo de personas son propensas a sufrir esta enfermedad (hombres, mujeres, niños, adolescentes)? Principalmente mujeres jóvenes, niñas cercanas a la adolescencia; por ese estereotipo de belleza que la sociedad nos impone. Las niñas quieren estar a la moda. Quieren vestir prendas tipo stretch jeans o leggins y tienden a caer en el problema buscando estar exageradamente delgadas, causándose un deterioro brutal al cuerpo.

Girls want to be fashionable. They want to wear stretch jeans or leggings and tend to fall into the problem by trying to be excessively thin, causing themselves a brutal deterioration of their bodies.

Puede ser la niña más popular e inteligente pero sin el cuerpo más bonito o las niñas aisladas que quieren ser aceptadas a través de su figura.

She may be the most popular and intelligent girl but without the most beautiful body or the isolated girls who want to be accepted through their shape.

El físico se ha convertido en un emblema. La delgadez es algo prioritario en una sociedad como la nuestra y es un fenómeno que se está globalizando.

The physical appearance has become a symbol. Thinness is a priority in a society like ours and it is a phenomenon which is becoming globalized.

De igual forma, se da mucho en las modelos debido a que las presionan mucho a estar y a permanecer muy delgadas. De esto depende su trabajo y es así como puede comenzar el desorden.

Similarly, this is mostly happening with the models because they are under pressure a lot to be and to remain very thin. This depends on your work and this is how the disorder can start.

¿Cuáles son los síntomas de la anorexia? Delgadez extrema. Reducción forzada del tamaño del estómago. No como se hace a través de una cirugía, sino a las malas.

What are the symptoms of anorexia? Extreme thinness. Forced reduction of the stomach’s size. It is not done through a surgery, but it’s done through the bad way.

Evitas todo tipo de contacto con los alimentos. No te vuelves a sentar en una mesa de cafetería ni en un restaurante. Te chocan los cubiertos. Te choca hasta el sonido que producen los mismos al rozar el plato. Cada comida se hace eterna y desgastante.

You avoid any contact with food. You do not sit down at a cafeteria table or restaurant again. Cutlery bothers you. The sound produced by these ones when brushing the plate bother you as well. Every meal becomes timeless and exhausting. You are hindered by someone who eats a normal portion and even more if he/she exceeds. You do not even stand by his/her side. It bothers you. You reject him/her. A fat person is simply not part of your life. He/she does not have a place. You create a phobia to the overweight. The anorexic person feeds on a few calories; it can be a lollypop, a biscuit or a small fractionated chocolate bar throughout the day. A fictitious fullness is generated. This behavior is becoming a habit. They feel like vomiting all the time.

Te estorba que alguien coma una porción normal y mucho más que se exceda. Ni siquiera te la aguantas a tu lado. Te incomoda. Lo rechazas. Una persona gorda sencillamente no hace parte de tu vida. No tiene cabida. Desarrollas una fobia al sobre peso. La persona anoréxica se alimenta de unas pocas calorías; puede ser un bombonbum (lollypop), una galleta o una pequeña barra de chocolate fraccionada a lo largo del día. Se genera una llenura ficticia. Este comportamiento se va convirtiendo en un hábito. Sienten ganas de vomitar todo el tiempo. Comienzan a fraccionar y a esconder la comida que les sirven y también a botarla, de tal manera que no la puedan encontrar las

They start to fractionate and hide the food served to them and also to throw it away, so that the people all around them cannot find it. They drink lots of fluids. The whole body’s skin gets to dry out; hands, elbows and knees. The skin begins to peel.

There are anorexics who can be able to control their body through the mind and they do not feel tiredness. They overcome fatigue and give themselves to the extreme exercise. Of course without the adequate food, they are destroying their body.

Hay anoréxicas que logran controlar su cuerpo a través de la mente y no sienten cansancio. Superan el cansancio y se entregan al ejercicio extremo. Por supuesto sin la alimentación adecuada van destruyendo su cuerpo.

They start affecting negatively to their family and partner relationships, even affecting sexuality.

Comienzan a afectar negativamente las relaciones familiares y de pareja, incluso se afecta la sexualidad.

The cold takes hold of oneself. Women with this kind of disorder live wearing sweaters and overcoats.

El frío se apodera de uno. Las mujeres con este desorden viven con sweater y sobrevestidas.

About the physical level, what else is affected in the body? The hair and nails start to fall down. The eyes get sprouted. Teeth can even fall down. They get bleeding gums. They get caries. This results in bad breath which is coupled with the stomach’s moods by reflux, ulcers and gastritis. This makes the person to get insulated more and more.

¿A nivel físico, qué más se afecta en el cuerpo? Se va cayendo el pelo y las uñas. Se brotan los ojos. Se pueden caer hasta los dientes. Sangran las encías. Da caries. Esto da mal aliento que se junta con los humores del estómago por el reflujo, las úlceras y la gastritis. Esto hace que la persona se aísle cada vez más.

In chronic cases the stomach literally breaks down and secretes very unpleasant odors.

En casos crónicos el estómago se descompone literalmente y segrega olores muy desagradables.

There is also an alteration of the hormonal balance. The female and male hormones are even. Excessively hair grows throughout the body. The menstruation is reduced or it disappears and sometimes the damage is irreversible to the point of not being able to procreate, no matter if they can manage the anorexia.

También se presenta una alteración del equilibrio hormonal. Las hormonas femeninas y masculinas se igualan. Crece bello excesivo por todo el cuerpo. La menstruación se reduce o desaparece y en ocasiones el daño es irreversible hasta el punto de no poder procrear, así llegaran a controlar la anorexia.

What do you consider to be the causes of this disease? I am sure, and nobody can refute it, that the origin is a trauma that marks your life in a negative way. This makes you flogging your own body and punish it.

¿Cuáles considera usted que son las causas de esta enfermedad? Estoy segura, y nadie me lo puede refutar, que el origen es un trauma que marca tu vida de manera negativa. Esto te hace flagelar tu cuerpo y castigarlo.

Eating disorder is triggered by trauma; such as abuse, rape, bullying, death of a beloved one or an accident with consequences of disability or aesthetic affection among others. Regarding to the models, it is the pressure that agencies hold on them to be even thinner each time. There are reasons on two levels, conscious and subconscious. The first one is not wanting to gain weight, it´s something aesthetic and very earthy. The second one is harder to identify, it´s something deeper. It is the psychological factor. It triggers a white elephant that destroy your being. The mind manipulates your appearance like a puppet. What would you say to those who suffer from this disease? Before saying something, it is about discovering that which can

En el caso de las modelos es la presión que ejercen las agencias en ellas de estar cada vez más flacas. Existen razones en dos niveles, consciente y subconsciente. Lo primero es no querer subir de peso, algo estético y muy terrenal. Lo segundo es más difícil de identificar, más profundo. Es el factor psicológico. Se desencadena un elefante blanco que arruina tu ser. La mente manipula tu físico como una marioneta.

The false perception in the mirror of “looking yourself normal or fine” can become lifelong. So the look factor loses relevance because it is permanently distorted... but if you tell a woman that she will lose the opportunity to continue studying, to make a career, to keep a job or not to be a mother... this can make her react... It is not about to tell her “look at yourself in a mirror”... for the ghost that distorts the image of the mirror can remain forever. The person may be showing just the bones and continue to look and feel fat. Who and how should this pathology be treated? As I said before, you have to identify what is happening internally to the person. The problem is always psychological. It should be treated jointly by specialists, psychologists or psychiatrists, and of course with relatives, friends or partners. The key person is the one with whom the anorexic can identify with. I consider that someone who has suffered from this disorder and has overcome it, is the one who can achieve to revive the consciousness in the sick person; like in other addictions.

¿Qué le diría usted a quien sufre de esta enfermedad? Antes que decir algo, se trata de descubrir aquello que la pueda movilizar para querer aferrarse a la vida; devolverle las ganas de vivir…por ejemplo, la idea o el sueño de maternidad; el querer ser madres las aterriza, ya que si se continúa con el desorden se privarían de esta posibilidad. La falsa percepción ante el espejo de “verse normal o bien” puede llegar a ser de por vida. Por lo tanto el factor de imagen pierde relevancia al estar distorsionado permanentemente…pero si le dices a una mujer que perderá la oportunidad de seguir estudiando, de hacer una carrera, de conservar un empleo o de no poder ser madre…esto la puede hacer reaccionar…No se trata de decirle: “mírate en un espejo”...pues el fantasma que distorsiona la imagen del espejo puede quedarse para siempre. La persona puede estar en los huesos y seguir viéndose y sintiéndose gorda. ¿Quién y cómo se debe tratar esta patología? Como decía antes, hay que identificar qué es lo que le está pasando a la persona internamente. El problema siempre es psicológico.

Se debe tratar de manera conjunta entre especialistas, psicólogos o psiquiatras, y por supuesto familiares, amigos o pareja. La persona clave es aquella con quien la anoréxica se pueda identificar. Considero que precisamente alguien quien haya sufrido de este desorden y lo haya superado, es quien puede lograr revivir la consciencia en la persona enferma; como ocurre en el caso de otras adicciones.

The sick one must realize what a specialist with a long career says, that nutrition is not an alternative or a desire, it is an obligation. Otherwise the person dies.

Un especialista solo, sin el acompañamiento de un ser cercano, difícilmente podrá lograr la reacción y mejoría. Pues el paciente se niega a escuchar y a creer en lo que dicen los médicos.

Sometimes it occurs in advanced cases that the person is hospitalized and they cannot connect you to an intravenous serum because your body simply rejects the needles literally. The veins become thinner and blood becomes thicker and this blocks the intravenous procedures. It is even difficult to take a blood sample. So, it is time to use tracheotomy or airway feeding through the nose. This causes significant damage to the nostrils. They get irritated by the catheter. The throat is also peeled. Gastric juices come and go. In the end, it is oneself who can be saved, through the acceptance and by understanding of the problem.

El enfermo o enferma debe darse cuenta de aquello que dice un especialista con larga trayectoria, que la nutrición no es una alternativa o un deseo, es una obligación. De lo contrario la persona muere. A veces sucede en casos avanzados que la persona resulta hospitalizada y no te pueden conectar a un suero intravenoso porque tu cuerpo simplemente rechaza las agujas literalmente. Las venas se adelgazan y la sangre se hace más densa y esto impide los procedimientos intravenosos. Se dificulta hasta una muestra de sangre. Toca recurrir a alimentación por traqueotomía o por vías respiratorias, por la nariz. Esto causa un daño importante en las fosas nasales. Se irritan por la sonda. La garganta también se pela. Los jugos gástricos vienen y van. En últimas es uno mismo quien se puede salvar, a través de la aceptación y la comprensión del problema.

It seems incredible that we are almost halfway through the year 2017, although it is true I always said that the even years were the best, in short this has been a very difficult year in economic matters and I believe that not only in Panama but throughout World, I think it is like something momentary, you have to go ahead and not let yourself go, give your best in every way and although there is a reality always be optimistic because as a friend says not every day it rains.

Me parece increíble que ya casi estemos a mitad del año 2017, si bien es cierto siempre dije que los años pares eran los mejores, en definitiva este ha sido un año muy difícil en materia económica y creo que no solo en Panamá sino en todo el mundo, creo que es como algo momentáneo, hay que seguir adelante y no dejarse, dar lo mejor de sí en todo sentido y aunque hay una realidad siempre ser optimistas porque como bien dice un amigo no todos los días llueve.

But in spite of starting a complicated year and an April, between leaving the summer and entering the winter (in Panama there are only two seasons, winter, it rain almost all the year and the dry one that is summer) I had the opportunity to appreciate two wonderful events that apart To leave me thinking, made me reflect that despite the adversities there are people who give everything for the whole, that are not discouraged, and that situations of life did not overcome them, and precisely of these two events I will speak.

Pero a pesar de iniciar un año complicado y un abril entre saliendo del verano y entrado al invierno (en Panamá solo hay dos estaciones invierno lluvia casi todo el año y la seca que es el verano) tuve la oportunidad de apreciar dos maravillosos eventos que aparte de dejarme pensando, me hicieron reflexionar que a pesar de las adversidades hay personas que dan el todo por el todo, no se desaniman, que situaciones de la vida no los venció y precisamente de esos dos acontecimientos les hablaré.

One was the realization in Panama of the III Special Olympics Latin American Games that began on April 21, in favor of the inclusion of people with disabilities, that flame of hope that ignited on April 21 at the stadium Romel Fernández in Panama City more Of 800 athletes from 21 countries recited their oath and marked that beginning.

Uno fue la realización en Panamá de los III Juegos Latinoamericanos de Olimpiadas Especiales que iniciaron el 21 de abril, en pro de la inclusión de personas con discapacidad, esa llama de esperanza que encendieron el 21 abril en el Estadio Romel Fernández en ciudad de Panamá más de 800 atletas de 21 países recitaron su juramente y marcaron ese inicio.

In each young you could see that joy, that courage, that determination and that unity, their faces reflected something inexplicable, they had not yet won any medals but they felt winners. It was a beautiful beginning, representatives of international organizations, government entities, ambassadors who donated their time to be with these young people, artists, family and of course all that logistics of organization, more than 10 thousand people attended that inauguration. I applauded to all that wonderful people, and took off my hat, it was all perfect. It was 8 days in which our country witnessed the determination and courage of these boys, the nerves during those days took almost all, but each one left their country high, for our pride the Panamanian athletes reached 192 recognitions, where They achieved 62 gold medals, 46 silver medals and 57 bronze medals, the organization of the event and all those who made the same one will fill us with pride, definitely Panama has the potential to organize not only this but many other events of This magnitude. And the other closing of April was to have had the opportunity to attend the magisterial video conference

En cada joven se podía ver esa alegría, ese valor, esa determinación y esa unidad, sus caritas reflejaban un no se qué inexplicable, no había ganado todavía medallas pero ellos se sentían ganadores. Fue un inicio hermoso representantes de organizaciones internacionales, entidades del gobierno, embajadores que donaron su tiempo para estar con esos jóvenes, artistas, familiares y por supuesto toda esa logística de organización, más de 10 mil personas asistieron a esa inauguración y aplausos de pie a toda gente maravillosa me quité el sombrero, todo para mi perfecto. Fueron 8 días en donde nuestro país fue testigo de la determinación y valentía de esos chicos, los nervios durante esos días se apodero casi todos, pero cada uno dejo en alto a su país, para orgullo nuestro los atletas panameños alcanzaron 192 reconocimientos, en donde lograron 62 medallas de oro, 46 medallas de plata y 57 medallas de bronce, la organización del evento y todos los que lograron que el mismo se realizará nos llena de orgullo, definitivamente Panamá tiene el potencial para organizar no solo este sino muchos otros eventos de esta magnitud.

“Discover your Strengths” with Nicholas James Vujicic, but who is he? Well I refreshed the memory, is a young 35 years old who was born on December 4, 1982, in Brisbane, Australia with the syndrome of tretra-amelia, characterized by the lack of limbs, wich means Nicholas came to this world without legs Or arms, he has only a formation or Meromelia of lower left side, but that was not an obstacle in his life, to have been born thus allowed him to develop that strength to motivate those who have all its members and complain of the life. My great friend Glenda Amaya invited me to participate in the conference and I confess that during these last two weeks I have been so but so busy that I almost do not go, but I told myself this is an opportunity that who knows when I can get back into my life, He (Nick Vujicic) was not going to be present but with the mere fact that he was addressing us through a video, I do not know the others, but I felt he was in front of me. If life is wonderful I had the happiness of sitting in the front row, the moderator of the event was the lecturer Marie Cosgrove that when I listen to her story I said we complain about everything at every moment and we do not see the wonders that we have in life, In every stumble there is an opportunity, in every fall there is a new hope. Having heard that video conference of Nick and understand that I have infinite strengths that I did not know and understand that everything has a motive and reason for being, make me reflect that we are in this life to enjoy it in the best way, always in the measure of Respect, everyone can do with their life what they want but there must always be that responsibility as a person to know that everything you do today will weigh tomorrow, if you are a good man today tomorrow you will reap the fruits of that sowing, the harvest of a hard and difficult sowing will always be a sweet and pleasant fruit, a month that closed with teaching, I will definitely put into practice in my life, the courage and guts of Nick and those special Olympics boys.

Y el otro cierre de abril fue el haber tenido la oportunidad de asistir a la video conferencia magistral “Descubre tus Fortalezas” con Nicholas James Vujicic, ¿Pero quien es él? Bueno le refresco la memoria es un joven 35 años que nació el 4 de diciembre de 1982, en Brisbane, Australia con el síndrome de tretra-amelia, que se caracteriza por la carencia de extremidades, es decir que Nicholas vino a este mundo sin piernas ni brazos, solamente tiene una formación o Meromelia de lado inferior izquierdo, pero eso no fue un obstáculo en su vida, haber nacidó así le le permitió desarrollar esa fortaleza para motivar a aquellos que tienen todos sus miembros y se quejan de la vida. Mi gran amiga Glenda Amaya me invitó a participar de la conferencia y les confieso que durante estas dos últimas semanas he estado tan pero tan ocupada que casi no voy, pero me dije esta es una oportunidad que quien sabe cuándo pueda volver a tener en mi vida, él (Nick Vujicic) no iba a estar presente pero con el solo hecho de que estuviera dirigiéndose a nosotros a través de un video no sé los demás pero sentí que estaba frente a mí. Si la vida es maravillosa que tuve la dicha de estar sentada en la primera fila, la moderadora del evento fue la conferencista Marie Cosgrove que cuando escuche su historia me dije nos quejamos de todo a cada instante y no vemos las maravillas que tenemos en la vida, en cada tropiezo hay una oportunidad, en cada caída hay una nueva esperanza. Haber escuchado esa video conferencia de Nick y entender que tengo unas fortalezas infinitas que yo ni sabia y entender que todo tiene un motivo y razón de ser, me hacen reflexionar que estamos en esta vida para disfrutarla de la mejor manera, siempre en la medida del respeto, cada quien puede hacer con su vida lo que quiera pero siempre debe existir esa responsabilidad como persona de saber que todo lo que hagas hoy pesara mañana, si eres un hombre de bien hoy mañana recogerás los frutos de esa siembra, la cosecha de una siembra dura y difícil siempre será un fruto dulce y agradable, un mes que cerro con enseñanza, en definitiva pondré en práctica en mi vida, la valentía y el coraje de Nick y de esos chicos de olimpiadas especiales.

These textiles would fetch very high prices and subsequently were considered a status symbol in Europe. Italy frequently traded in textiles with the Ottoman Empire and the gorgeous velvet florals became a coveted design in Italian cities. In the wake of the industrial revolution these fabrics were brought to all the people, especially to the women, who can wear them in the summer season to feel free and comfortable. Then, the textile producers thought about all the different kinds of floral fabrics, in particular soft, floral fabrics to wear in the summer season. The idea grew exponentially which allowed for complex motifs, such as flowers, to be more easily accessible to consumers. Because of the florals popularity, they became an iconic symbol of the summer look. One such soft fabric that has grown directly out of the connection between the East and West is a classic liberty print from the popular and exciting labor SUMMER. You can reimagine, reinvent, or deconstruct the floral prints reassuring femininity while teasing the more masculine influence. Trends are always coming and going from season to season, but we all know that once a trend has made its début, it’s very hard to be forgotten. No matter how long ago they started or how long they’ve hidden, we can always count on the styles that our moms once considered a must or the styles we saw when we were growing up in 90’s or 2000’s to return one day. C urrently, a popular trend is fishnets! From fashion shows to social media, fishnets have transformed from a simple pair of tights into a layering piece that can complement any outfit. Not only are these tights being used under just about everything, but they have found their way into other styles of clothing as well. They originally started in the 1900s, one fable tells the story of asking who told a peasant that he would marry his daughter if she could solve his riddle. “Then said the king, come to me not clothed, not naked, not riding, not walking, not in the road, and not off the road, and if you can do that I will marry you. So, she went away, put off everything she had on, and then she was not clothed, and took a great fishing net, and seated herself in it and wrapped it entirely around herself so that she was not naked. Then she hired an ass and tied the fisherman’s net to its tail, so that it was forced to drag her along, and that was neither riding nor walking. The ass had also to drag her in the ruts,

Las tendencias de moda siempre van y vienen, de temporada en temporada, pero todos sabemos que una vez que una tendencia ha hecho su debut, es muy difícil de olvidarla. No importa cuánto tiempo haya pasado o hace cuánto que estuvo de moda, siempre podemos contar con volver a ver los estilos que nuestras madres usaron en alguna oportunidad como también los estilos que nosotras mismas usamos en años pasados. ¡En la actualidad, una gran tendencia de moda son las mallas, medias o calzas de net o redes de pescar, más conocidas como Fish-nets! Desde los desfiles de moda a los medios de comunicación social, estas ya tan populares mallas se han transformado de un simple par de medias en una pieza de ensamble que puede complementar cualquier conjunto. No sólo se pueden usar debajo de cualquier ropa, sino que estas medias se están utilizando en casi todo, y es así que han encontrado su camino en otros estilos de ropa. Una fábula cuenta que estas mallas salieron a la luz cuando un rey que le dijo a la hija de un campesino que se casaría con ella si esta lograba resolver su acertijo. “Ven a verme, ni vestida ni desnuda, ni a caballo, ni en coche, ni por el camino, ni fuera del camino”. Others say fishnets began in the early 1900s with the showgirls of the famous Moulin Rouge (love that movie). Regardless of their origin, they have really evolved throughout the years and now they are back!! I started wearing fishnets in middle school... and that was brave as kids can be so cruel sometimes, especially if you don’t “fit in.” It can be a crime to wear something different or even like music that is not “cool.” I loved to wear different things since I was a child. I was always taught to express myself in creative ways and to be authentic, but apparently that was perceived by some people as odd. So, of course I was picked on! But that is a different article on its own. Anyway, I loved wearing fishnets! I have all the colors: pink, black, blue, green. So, I don’t have to tell you how much I love that they have finally come back AND in a much better way too. Another plus is, most places sell them for $10 and under... c’mon who doesn’t love an affordable trend. Typically, when we think of tights, we would wait until it cools down a bit to wear them but with fishnets you can throw them together with any type of style, and you can always adjust them to your style. If you’re looking to add a layer of warmth, that necessarily won’t work because they won’t keep you warm like a pair of normal tights would. Think of them as a way of adding texture to your look. You also have to take into consideration what size of net you feel most comfortable with. There are super tiny fishnets while there are super big ones as well. I love them all, I never discriminate! If you feel like the fishnets will be too much under your super fitted jeans, you can always go for the fishnet socks. They work with pretty much everything, if you style them right. One of my favorite looks is the 70’s inspired look; I wear my fishnet peeking out between my skirt hemlines and knee-high boots, you can add a little punk appeal to a one of your ensembles, or you could go bold and spice up your look with a white lace dress with a leather jacket and knee-high buckle boots, and of course, fishnets. Right now, one of my favorite styles, and it kind of came out of nowhere, is the baggy band tee and ripped denim with fishnets underneath to give it that edgy, grunge look. I don’t know what it is about fishnets but they just make me feel sexy and confident. On a side note, if you’re going to wear a band tee make sure you know at least three songs!!

Se convierte en un crimen usar algo diferente o incluso escuchar música que no es “cool”. Pero a mi siempre me ha gustado tener cosas diferentes pues desde niña me enseñaron a expresar mi creatividad y ser auténtica, aunque eso me saque del grupo y sea motivo de burla. Pero ese es un artículo diferente. De todos modos, yo siempre llevaba las cosas más locas, y me encanta usar ¡mallas! Las tengo de todos los colores: rosa, negro, azul, verde. Así que no tengo que decirle lo mucho que me encanta que finalmente hayan vuelto a estar de moda. Otra ventaja de estas mallas, es que las puedes encontrar hasta por $10 o menos... mas razón para amar ¡esta tendencia! Por lo general, cuando pensamos en mallas, esperamos hasta que el clima este frío para usarlas, pero estas se pueden usar con cualquier estilo y en cualquier temporada. Si usted está buscando abrigarse, esta no va ha ser una buena opción pues solo son un accesorio. Piense en ellas como una manera de agregar textura a su ensamble. Hay muchas opciones, no solo en colores, ya que vienes con los agujeros mas grandes o súper minúsculas todo depende de la imagen que usted quiera lograr. A mi particularmente me gustan todas, ¡nunca discrimino! Si sientes que usarlas debajo de tus pantalones seria demasiado, puedes optar por las medias o calcetines cortos de net. Te aseguro que van con todo, solo tienes que adaptarlas a tu estilo. Una de mis combinaciones favoritas son las inspiradas de los años 70, me pongo las mallas y dejo que se asomen un poquito entre la falta y mis botas. Usted puede transformar cualquier conjunto con esta adición a su vestuario, o quizá cambiar un vestido monótono agregando las mallas y una chaqueta de cuero o botas altas.En este momento uno de mis estilos favoritos, que salió de la nada, es una camiseta de alguna banda o grupo de moda y el pantalón Jean o vaqueros con huecos, con la malla debajo para darle una imagen rebelde. No sé, qué tienen estas mallas pero cuando las uso me siento sexy y confiada. Nota: Si usted va a llevar una camiseta de su banda favorita asegúrese de saber por lo menos ¡¡tres canciones !!

Since 1974 in a South American country, the initiative was given by some young people of the 70’s, the idea was simple, go out on a Sunday, and do what other thousands do, ride a bicycle. And 40 years later, the bicycle took this city of South America, and not only took this city but many more were imitating this initiative of (Rodrigo Castaño Valencia and others in 1974). Today 2017 we are in a time of war winds, it would be better to make love and not war, the powerful of this planet, have to lower the spirits and think more about those who chose them, not personal interests and struggles of old times . We all know what happens in wars, the only thing left of a war is “nothing”, nothing and nothing more than nothing. And thousands of broken hearts, and thousands of lives torn in two, so it’s better to think of a present and a future where we can all enjoy this beautiful planet and so far it’s the only one we have. The bicycle emerged on the planet a few years ago, but it came to stay, who invented this apparatus, made one of the great revolutions for the planet. In Bogota Colombia is almost a must to go by bicycle, because the city was small for the millions of people who live in this city of 9 million inhabitants and growing. Y 40 años después, la bicicleta se tomó esta ciudad de sur América, y no solo se tomó esta ciudad sino muchas más fueron imitando esta iniciativa de (Rodrigo Castaño Valencia y otros en 1974). Hoy 2017 estamos en una época de vientos de guerra, sería mejor hacer el amor y no la guerra, los poderosos de este planeta, tienen que bajar los ánimos y pensar más en quienes los eligieron, no en intereses personales y en rencillas de viejas épocas. Ya todos sabemos que pasan con las guerras, lo único que queda de una guerra es “nada”, la nada y nada más que nada. Y miles de corazones rotos, y miles de vidas partidas en dos, así que es mejor pensar en un presente y un futuro donde todos podamos disfrutar de este lindo planeta y hasta el momento es el único que tenemos. La bicicleta emergió en el planeta hace pocos lustros, pero llegó para quedarse, quien inventó este aparto, hizo una de las grandes revoluciones para el planeta. Pero quien pensaría que este hermoso adminiculo de dos ruedas y seria para el futuro la solución a miles de problemas en las grandes ciudades del planeta. En Bogotá Colombia es casi una obligación ir en bicicleta, pues la ciudad quedó pequeña para los millones de personas que viven en esta ciudad de 9 millones de habitantes y creciendo. La bicicleta es tal vez en Bogotá el sistema de transporte más importante en la ciudad. El gobierno local de 1974 hizo caso a unos jóvenes que quieran montar bicicleta los domingos, pero, no solo querían montar bicicleta los domingos sino todos los domingos del año, y además no querían que los carros, los autos, los vehículos, los acompañaran por esta calles, así que la vía que empezó este gran emprendimiento fue la vía o la calle más importante de Bogotá, que en épocas Españolas fue llamada la calle del comercio. Es más conocida como la carrera séptima que va de norte a sur y de sur a norte de la ciudad atraviesa en su totalidad la ciudad, y no solo atraviesa en su totalidad la ciudad sino, que va desde los barrios más humildes hasta los más opulentos y poderosos. Incluida la famosa Casa de Nariño. O en lenguaje más comercial para que todos entiendan es nuestra Casa Blanca, es la casa donde vive el Presidente del país. Por ahí pasa también la carrera Séptima de Bogotá, y donde empezó todo hace más de 40 años. El motivo de este artículo, es la repercusión que ha tenido esta iniciativa de un país de tercer mundo, hispano parlante y que las iniciativas Sur – Norte sean tenidas en cuenta como importante por los Países del norte, siempre será un logro, frente a la visión centrista que solo los países de primer mundo están hechos para crear y originar cambios fundamentales en la vida del planeta. Yoga was introduced in the United States in the 1800s, but really didn’t catch on until the colorful 1960s when Western society became intrigued by the Eastern ways. Madonna and Sting’s dedication to the practice moved yoga into pop culture in the 90s and, today, it seems, classes can be found on every street corner. Twenty-first century yoga has taken on many incarnations from stand up paddle yoga and doga with dogs to laughter and live music yoga. San Diego is home to a wide array of classes, many set in beautiful environments. Here are some of our favorite places to enjoy downward dogs and salutations to the sun.

Joga is an athletic-based style of yoga that is designed specifically for athletes and individuals who train often, as it helps them gain flexibility while still keeping their strength and power. The Sunday morning class is a local hit and is currently implemented by some national sports teams. At reform Yoga in Carlsbad, live music further elevates the practice with acoustic guitar during their Gentle Flow Vinyasa class each Tuesday evening and classical piano filling the studio on one Monday each month. North Park Yoga holds Yoga for Cyclists classes and Men’s Nude Yoga, for those males able to check their egos and cloths at the door. Moving beyond the classroom, yoga classes are now being held on water with stand up paddleboards acting as floating

I just enjoyed the most wonderful Easter vacation in Vail/Beaver Creek, Colorado! This time I drove from Las Vegas, enjoying the beautiful scenery of the I-15 and I-70 highways. The trip was very pleasant and the suite at the Christie Lodge in Avon/Beaver Creek was very comfortable. I enjoyed great skiing!!! We toured all the villas, met up with dear friends from Mexico, and our dinners were delicious. I have been in some of the most popular ski resorts, but they cannot compare with Vail. It is definitely the best! Vail and Beaver Creek are very popular among high profile Mexican and Latin people. Many own homes and time shares to spend weeks in every year. You see Spanish speaking beautiful people everywhere! The first time I went to Vail was in the 1980s and fell so much in love with it that kept going back year after year over the next 20 years, sometimes with friends and even just by myself, but I had not returned since NYE on 2000 and it really has grown and is more beautiful than ever. Vail is an extraordinary winter vacation destination. Under blue skies more than 300 days each year and with more groomed terrain than anywhere on the planet, the vacation experience is world class, from the Vail Ski & Snowboard School to the events, activities and festivals, the shops and spas, abundant culinary experiences and luxurious accommodations. Coupled with the vision inherent in the spirit of its founders, and a modern day commitment to excellence in all aspects of guest service and operations, Vail can still credibly lay claim to being a resort like nothing on earth. Beaver Creek’s jolly, alpenhorn blowing, lederhosen wearing mascot has been entertaining all of us since the mountain opened in 1980. Meet the legend himself in the Village Plaza throughout the winter. And It all started just 55 years ago when local boy Earl Eaton showed 10th Mountain Veteran Pete Seibert the vast open bowls on the backside of what is now Vail Mountain. They had found their dream! It wasn’t long before ski bums and millionaires arrived and gave their hearts and souls to making Vail a reality. The town was established and built as the base village to Vail Ski Resort which population actually barely exceeds 5,500. In December 15, 1962, a remote mountain valley was transformed, a ski resort, loved by millions, opened its first ski season. It quickly grew throughout the valley with housing added first in East Vail and then West Vail, additional lodging added in Lionshead in the late 1960s and Beaver Creek was created in 1980. Within the first years the village had a ski shop, a hotel and restaurant, and the mountain had a manager. By 1969 Vail was the most popular ski resort in the state. In 1988 Vail opened China Bowl, making Vail the largest ski area in North America with 5,000 acres of skiable terrain and seven legendary Back Bowls. Definitely, I will return very soon!

Y todo comenzó hace sólo 55 años, cuando el joven local Earl Eaton mostró al 10º Veterano de Montaña Pete Seibert los vastos cuencos abiertos en la parte trasera de lo que ahora es Vail Mountain. ¡Encontrando su sueño! No pasó mucho tiempo antes de que esquiadores y millonarios llegaran y dieran sus corazones y almas para hacer de Vail una realidad. La ciudad fue establecida y construida como la aldea base a la estación de esquí cuya población actual apenas excede 5.500. El 15 de diciembre de 1962 se transformó un remoto valle de montaña al inaugurar su primera temporada de esquí. Creció rápidamente a través del valle, primero en East Vail y luego hacia West Vail, agregando alojamiento adicional en Lionshead a finales de los 60 y Beaver Creek fue creado en 1980. En los primeros años la aldea tenía una tienda de esquí, un hotel y un restaurante, y la montaña tenía un gerente. En 1969, Vail ya era la estación de esquí más popular del estado. En 1988 abrió el China Bowl, convirtiendo a Vail en la mayor zona de esquí de Norteamérica con 5.000 acres de terreno esquiable y siete legendarios Back Bowls. Sin duda, volveré muy pronto!
