GAMER

We had a great day today, and your child not only had fun, but learned a ton! To continue the fun at home, we wanted to share with you some of what your child learned in at camp. We created Gamer to be something your child can continue to develop and explore at home. We encourage you to keep working with your students so they can continue to make changes to their game. Follow the instructions below to access what your student made during camp. Games created at VentureLab will be ready for editing on Monday.

Game #1: Created Using Hopscotch Game Animation: Puzzlets Puzzlets were used to introduce the concepts of object-oriented programing and game logic to students of all ages. Their teams were in charge of moving their individual character Puzzlets throughout their board, to create character animation and action. Learn More: http://www.digitaldreamlabs.com/

Programming Hopscotch from http://www.gethopscotch.com/ Hopscotch is easy to use and it’s powerful. Hopscotch can be used to learn fundamental programming concepts -- sequencing, abstraction, values, conditionals. Students used this software to make an underwater treasure dive game as a class and continued on to create their own game.
