Welcome to Camp! Take a look at what we did today
Announcements: The Week At A Glance
We began today with an activity listing the pros and cons of the walls we built for Humpty Dumpty yesterday. Teams took into account the customer requests, the stability, and the effectiveness of the safety device. This helped each group organize themselves and plan for the day! Next we brainstormed how to improve our design. Next, campers all gathered around to hear the story of The Three Little Pigs. After, everyone was presented with the challenge of creating a house that fit all three pigs in it! The campers quickly split into groups and brainstormed ideas. It was fantastic to see everyone’s creativity! We then began constructing our houses. After lots of trial and error everyone successfully figured out the technicalities with their houses and each team presented their creations! The houses were then put to the test by seeing if they could fit the three pigs. We are happy to say that every group passed the pig test! Then we all hopped over two classrooms and joined the Senior Innovators. Each group of Little Innovators was paired with a group of Senior Innovators to create little critters out of toothbrushes. This was a great mentorship opportunity! Both activities were tons of fun and gave campers in different age groups a chance to get to know each other and show off their creativity when designing and building their final products!

wacky wednesday: Squishy DOugh Squishy dough is a conductive play-doh like material that is a great way to introduce circuitry to kids of all ages. The best part is you can make it at home! You will need: 1 cup of water, 1 and 1/2 cups of flour, 1/4 cup of salt, 9 Tbsp of lemon juice, 1 Tbsp of vegetable oil, and optional food coloring! Your kids will have so much fun building different shapes, forms, and masterpieces all while incoporating science and circuits with this handson fun!
