Sarah felt

nervous and small as

she watched her classmates rehearse for the

school play. “I could never speak in front of everyone,” she whispered to herself.
That evening at Camp Brite Star, Sarah couldn’t shake her fear. She sighed. “I wish I could be brave like everyone else,” she said softly.

As the forest began to glow with magical light, Sarah felt a strange pull.

“What’s

that?” she wondered, stepping carefully into the trees.

Sarah gasped as she reached Critter Village. The critters paused their activities and looked at her curiously. Sheriff Bear approached. “Hello there, little one,” he said kindly.

“I’m scared to speak in front of others,” Sarah admitted. Sheriff Bear nodded thoughtfully. “Courage isn’t about not being afraid,” he said. “It’s about facing your fears, step by step.”
“When I first became sheriff, I was scared too,” Sheriff Bear said. “But I knew my job was important, so I took a deep breath and did my best.”

Sheriff Bear gathered a few critters and said, “Sarah has a story to tell.” Sarah hesitated but took a deep breath. She spoke quietly at first but grew louder as the critters listened intently.

When Sarah finished, the critters cheered. “You were amazing!” one said. Sarah smiled, feeling a spark of confidence. “I did it!” she exclaimed.

Sheriff Bear handed Sarah a small badge. “This

is for your courage,”

he said.

“Remember, bravery grows every time you face your fears.”

Back at camp, Sarah approached her classmates. “Can I try out for the play?” she asked. Her friends smiled. “Of course!” they said.

A few weeks later, Sarah stood on stage, speaking her lines clearly and confidently. The audience clapped, and she smiled, proud of how far she had come.

Think About:

1. How did Sarah learn to face her fear?

2. Why is it important to take small steps when building courage?

3. How can you encourage someone who feels scared?

Let's Work Together: By supporting one another and taking small steps, we can all grow braver and stronger.

I Will: I will face my fears, knowing that each small step makes me more courageous.

The Importance of Knowing: Knowing how to face fears helps us build confidence and achieve things we never thought possible, making life more exciting and rewarding.
