Lindsey, the camp director, stood at the entrance of Camp Brite Star with a big smile. “Welcome, everyone!” she said. “Today, we’re going on an outdoor adventure to learn about nature!”
As Lindsey led the group down the trail, she pointed out some colorful flowers. “These are wildflowers,” she explained. “They’re beautiful, but remember, we
should leave them where they are so everyone can enjoy them!”
Lindsey showed the kids a tall tree with rough bark. “Feel the bark on this tree,” she said. “Each tree has its own texture. Isn’t it amazing how different they can be?”
“Look closely,” Lindsey said, pointing to the ground where tiny ants were working together. “Even the smallest creatures play an important role in nature!”

“We should always be respectful and keep our distance so we don’t scare them.”
Lindsey held up two different leaves.
“Some plants are safe to touch, but others aren’t. Learning which plants are safe helps us respect nature and stay safe.”
The group spotted a squirrel gathering nuts. “Animals are always preparing for the future,” Lindsey said. “They gather food and build homes. Nature is full of busy creatures!”
Lindsey led them to a small, clear stream. “Water is essential for all living things,” she explained. “This stream helps plants grow and provides a home for many animals.”
“Look up at the leaves,” Lindsey said, pointing to the canopy above. “The trees give us shade and clean air. We should appreciate all they do for us.”
They
paused for a moment to listen to the sounds around them.
“Hear that?”
Lindsey asked. “The forest is alive with sounds! Taking a quiet moment helps us feel connected to nature.”
As they sat in a circle, Lindsey asked,
“What was your favorite part of our adventure?” The kids excitedly shared their favorite moments, each of them having learned something new.
