Ralph Senior pulls into the driveway with a surprise—a vintage RV painted in bright colors. "What do you think, Junior? Is that for us? Are we going on adventures?" Ralph Junior can't hide his excitement. "Yes, it’s ours! We’re going to travel and follow the Cubs," Ralph Senior chuckles, ruffling his son's hair.
Sally steps outside, hands on her hips, surprised yet amused. "What's this, Ralph?" "Mom, we're going to see the Cubs!" exclaims Ralph Junior, tugging at her hand. "Well, it looks like we’re in for quite the journey," Sally laughs, warming up to the idea.
Ralph Senior shows Junior the cozy insides of the RV, from the tiny kitchen to the fold-out beds. "Can I pick my bed first?" Junior looks around eagerly. "Of course! Pick whichever one you like best," responds Ralph Senior, opening cabinets.
They spread out a map, planning their trips to follow the Cubs across the country. "How far will we go, Dad?" Junior points to the farthest stadium. "As far as we need to. Every mile is worth it for the Cubs," Ralph Senior says, tracing routes with his finger.
At a local store, they pick out Cubs jerseys and baseball caps, gearing up for their road trips. "Do I look like a real fan, Dad?" Junior asks, admiring his new cap in the mirror. "The realist I’ve seen!" laughs Ralph Senior, purchasing the gear.
Their first game day arrives. The RV is parked amidst a sea of Cubs fans tailgating. "Can we have a barbecue too, Dad?" Junior's nose twitches at the smells. "You bet! Let’s show these fans how the Ralphs do it," Ralph Senior fires up their portable grill.
Surrounded by cheering fans, Ralph Senior and Junior watch the game, completely absorbed. "Will we come to more games like this?" Junior shouts over the noise. "As many as we can. It’s our big adventure," Ralph Senior shouts back, high-fiving his son.
After the game, they sit in the RV, a small lamp casting a cozy glow as they talk about their favorite plays. "Did you have fun today?" Ralph Senior asks, tucking Junior in. "The best day ever!" Junior’s eyes are full of dreams of more games.
Parked under a starry sky, the RV feels like a small spaceship on an interstellar mission to follow baseball. "Can we see the stars from every stadium?" Junior peers out the window. "We’ll see stars and baseball stars," Ralph Senior joins him, pointing out constellations.
Sally calls to check in, laughing as they recount the day’s adventure, feeling part of the journey even from home. "Are you taking good care of each other?" Sally asks warmly. "Always, Mom! We’re a great team," Junior assures her, proud of their day.
As Junior drifts to sleep, dreams of making it to the World Series dance in his head, a perfect end to a perfect day. "Will we make it to the World Series, Dad?" Junior dreams. "One day, we’ll be there, watching together," Ralph Senior promises in the dream.
As the sun rises over another game day, the journey of Ralph Senior and Junior continues, each mile bringing them closer together and closer to their dream.
