"An entire summer of baseball!" Ralph Junior exclaimed, tracing his finger across the map. "We’re going to see so many ballparks, Dad!”
"That’s right, Junior," Ralph Senior said with a smile. "We’re going to learn all about the Cubs and baseball while we’re at it."
Their first stop was Yankee Stadium in New York. "Dad, do you think it’ll be as amazing as Wrigley Field?" Ralph Junior asked, excitement bubbling in his voice.
"Every stadium has its own special magic," Ralph Senior replied. "But nothing beats seeing the Cubs play in a place like this."
Inside Yankee Stadium, Ralph Senior and Junior took in the rich history of the game. "Look at all these legendary players, Dad," Ralph Junior said in awe. "The Cubs have had some pretty great ones too!" "They sure have," Ralph Senior nodded. "And who knows? Maybe we’ll see the next Cubs legend this season."
Next up was Fenway Park in Boston. As they set up camp nearby, Ralph Junior could hardly wait to see the famous Green Monster. "Do you think we’ll see a home run go over it, Dad?" "Anything’s possible," Ralph Senior said, setting up their chairs outside the RV. "That’s the beauty of baseball."
Watching the Cubs play against the Red Sox, Ralph Junior was on the edge of his seat. "This stadium is incredible, Dad! The history here is amazing."
"Fenway is special, just like Wrigley," Ralph Senior agreed. "And we’re lucky to see our Cubs play here."
As they continued their journey, Ralph Junior couldn’t help but think about the next stop. "I can’t wait to see the Cubs play the Cardinals, Dad. That rivalry is legendary!”
"It’s going to be a great game," Ralph Senior said, excited for the upcoming match.
In St. Louis, Ralph Junior felt the intensity of the CubsCardinals rivalry. "Dad, these fans are really passionate, just like us."
"That’s what makes baseball so special," Ralph Senior replied. "Everyone loves their team just as much as we love the Cubs."
During the game, Ralph Junior caught a foul ball, his face lighting up with joy. "Dad, I got one! This is the best summer ever!"
"That’s a keepsake, Junior," Ralph Senior said proudly. "Just like all the memories we’re making."
Each night, Ralph Junior wrote about their adventures in a journal. "I want to remember every detail, Dad," he said, focused on his writing. "And you will, Junior," Ralph Senior said, looking at the stars. "This summer is something we’ll talk about for the rest of our lives."
Sally called to check in, and Ralph Junior eagerly shared stories about the games they’d seen. "Mom, you wouldn’t believe how amazing these ballparks are!"
"It sounds like you two are having the best summer," Sally said, smiling through the phone.
As the sun rose, Ralph Senior and Junior hit the road again, ready for the next game. "Where to next, Dad?"
Ralph Junior asked, already excited. "Wherever the Cubs take us, Junior," Ralph Senior replied, smiling. "This is our summer of games."
As their summer journey continued, Ralph Senior and Junior reflected on all they’d seen and learned. "This summer is more than just baseball—it’s about us, too," Ralph Senior said.
