LEADING FEMALE PLASTIC SURGEON IN MANDEVILLE, LA

Dr. Michele Cooper

What Patients Are Saying

“…She was there for me every step of the way…” When I went to Dr. Cooper, I was very nervous and afraid. I mean elective surgery is a big step. Not only did she make me feel at ease, I felt she was sincere. She didn’t make me feel as though I really needed the surgery. If anything, I walked out of there with more self confidence and that was before I actually had the surgery. She was there for me every step of the way, before and after. I have received so many compliments from the work she did. I have and will continue to recommend her to everyone.

“…Very comforting…”

I have been loving my new look ever since my surgery about 4 years ago. I enjoyed meeting Dr. Cooper and found her very comforting. She was able to give me the natural look I was going for!

“…Meticulous in every detail…”

Dr. Cooper and her staff are meticulous in every detail both medically and aesthetically. Most impeccable taste is also displayed throughout her Mandeville office building, adorned with marvelous furnishings and gallery art work.

Amanda Delaup

A LEADER IN CONNECTION AND COMMUNITY

Amanda Delaup’s journey as Chief Experience Officer for Palette began in December 2024, a role she embraces wholeheartedly. For Amanda, this position is about more than guiding operations— it’s about equipping individuals and businesses with tools, connections, and opportunities to flourish. “It’s a privilege to bring people together in ways that enhance not just their professional lives but their personal journeys,” she says.

COMMUNITY LEADER

Amanda’s involvement with Palette started in 2024, where she quickly became a champion for its mission: creating spaces where innovation, creativity, and collaboration thrive. More than a co-working space, Palette is a hub for entrepreneurs seeking growth. With expert guidance and an inspiring community, Palette transforms big ideas into impactful successes on the Northshore.

Her career has been a mosaic of experiences— from collegiate athletics to owning a franchise, business consulting, and even motherhood. Amanda’s consulting work introduced her to public speaking, workshops, and community building, sharpening her leadership perspective. She credits motherhood as her most transformative role, saying, “I face each day thinking of how my leadership will shape my daughters’ future.” This deeply personal connection to community fuels her drive to create spaces where others can thrive.

What Amanda finds most fulfilling is witnessing the transformation that occurs when people connect meaningfully. Whether it’s a budding entrepreneur taking the next step or a business flourishing through relationships built at Palette, Amanda takes pride in fostering those connections. “Helping others unlock their potential is what drives me every day,” she says.

As a woman in leadership, Amanda has faced the challenge of balancing expectations placed on women— especially mothers. She’s learned to navigate these pressures through time management, building a support system, and prioritizing authenticity. “It’s not about doing it all perfectly; it’s about leading with clarity, courage, and adaptability,” she reflects.

“HELPING OTHERS UNLOCK THEIR POTENTIAL IS WHAT DRIVES ME EVERY DAY.”

Amanda’s leadership style is rooted in vision, intentionality, and connection. Her strategic mindset, honed as a brand strategist and franchise owner, enables her to balance big-picture thinking with practical execution. Her natural ability to connect with others, shaped by her role as a mom and community builder, ensures every voice is heard.

Having lived in Covington for seven years, Amanda cherishes the small-town charm and big vision of the Northshore. She describes it as a place where families thrive, businesses flourish, and community bonds run deep.

Outside of work, Amanda enjoys concerts, traveling, and creating memories with her husband and twin sixyear-old daughters. She also passionately serves the community through Habitat for Humanity, Northshore Humane Society, and various other organizations. For Amanda, supporting initiatives that uplift others is not just a passion—it’s a calling.

Dr. Daniela Eversgerd has always known what she was born to do. As the daughter of a dentist, she grew up watching her mother transform lives through care, connection, and confidence— one smile at a time. That early exposure didn’t just spark an interest in dentistry; it planted a calling. “My mom is a dentist, so I grew up around dentistry all my life,” she says. “I always saw how much she enjoyed her work and changing her patients’ lives. She is truly my inspiration.”

EVERSGERD DR. DANIELA

Today, Dr. Eversgerd is doing the same—redefining smiles and touching lives through her work at Allure Dental in Louisiana. She leads with passion, precision, and purpose, and her commitment to excellence goes far beyond the surface.

“My motto is ‘never stop learning.’ I take over 200+ hours of continuing education each year.”

This isn’t just about staying on top of trends— it’s about delivering exceptional care. She also teaches a hands-on veneer and smile makeover course to dentists from across the country and works as a business coach, helping other dental professionals succeed. Her dedication to education is a cornerstone of her philosophy: when you love something, you pour into it. And when you share what you’ve learned, everyone rises.

Behind the scenes, Dr. Eversgerd credits a supportive team at Allure and a strong partnership at home. “I love my work and am surrounded by a team who shares my vision. We all work hard so we can enjoy our time off with our families,” she says.

“My motto is ‘never stop learning.’ I take over 200+ hours of continuing education each year.”

“I also have an incredibly supportive husband who contributes equally at home with our children. It takes a village.”

And even with the demands of running a thriving practice, she never loses sight of what matters most—her three children, whom she calls the greatest gifts God has ever given her. She treasures being present at their activities, cooking at home, traveling together as a family, and staying centered through yoga and exercise.

One of the most meaningful parts of her work, however, happens outside the bounds of typical patient care. Each year, Dr. Eversgerd offers a Smile Makeover Giveaway, gifting eight porcelain veneers to a deserving member of her community. “It’s one of the most rewarding things I do,” she says. “Helping someone regain their confidence so they can show up in the world differently is powerful.” Some of her past recipients have gone from being shy and unemployed to launching their own businesses. That, to her, is the ultimate return on investment.

“I want to be remembered for changing lives—not just smiles.”

Her advice to women starting their own journey in business? Seek guidance early. “Once you’ve found a career you love, look for someone already doing it and ask them to be your mentor. I’ve had many mentors who shaped who I am today.”

Ask anyone who knows her, and they’ll tell you—Daniela lives her passion. She even jokes that once you get her talking about teeth, you better buckle in. “I can’t stop talking about them!” she laughs.

“I’m obsessed with teeth.”

But at the heart of it all is a love for people, a commitment to growth, and a drive to serve her community with authenticity and impact. Whether she’s reshaping a smile, mentoring a colleague, or sharing dinner with her family, Dr. Eversgerd is fully present.

“I want to be remembered for changing lives—not just smiles.”

If she had to choose one place to spend a year, it would be her hometown of Recife, Brazil, surrounded by family and old friends—with her husband and kids, of course. Because whether it’s in her operatory or halfway across the world, Daniela Eversgerd is building a life full of purpose, love, and radiant smiles.

Lizette Alvarado is no stranger to reinvention. As the founder of Syn Skin Aesthetics, she has built a business rooted in care, connection, and confidence— where clients feel seen and supported, both in their skin and in their stories.

Her proudest accomplishment? Creating a space where women can embrace their beauty without apology. For Lizette, skincare isn’t surface-level—it’s sacred. What started as a deep interest in holistic wellness has grown into a mission to help people feel their best from the inside out. Over the years, her passion has only expanded, leading her to launch Venus Concierge Luxury Home Care, a personalized in-home care service that brings high-end support to clients who need it most.

The journey hasn’t been without challenges. If she could go back, Lizette would remind herself that perfection isn’t the goal—progress is. “You don’t need all the answers on day one,” she says. “Just the courage to start.”

Deeply connected to her community, Lizette finds joy in giving back—whether through mentorship, local partnerships, or simply showing up for those who’ve supported her along the way. Her heart for people is the throughline in all she does.

What she hopes people remember? The way she made them feel—empowered, encouraged, and cared for. Because to Lizette, success isn’t just about business growth. It’s about legacy. And she’s just getting started.

Syn Skin Aesthetics and Venus Concierge are more than ventures. They are extensions of Lizette’s calling to serve with grace, purpose, and heart.

ABBIE CRAFTON

For Abbie Crafton, success isn’t just about personal achievements—it’s about the impact she makes on others. As the owner of Gray & Graham, she has created more than a salon; she has built a space where stylists can grow, thrive, and build a future they never thought possible.

One of Abbie’s greatest accomplishments is fast-tracking careers and setting stylists up for long-term success. “My goal is to empower them, not just in their craft but in life. I want them to have financial independence and know they can build the life they want,” she shares. Watching her team flourish and step into their potential is the most rewarding part of her journey.

Her passion for mentorship wasn’t immediate. As a single mother, she pursued a career in hair to provide stability for her sons. Over time, she realized her true calling wasn’t just behind the chair—it was in guiding others. Now, she dedicates herself to teaching stylists how to market themselves, invest in education, and take control of their careers.

Her road to success has had challenges. “Business ebbs and flows. There will be tough seasons, and it can feel lonely,” Abbie admits. That’s why she values a strong community of like-minded entrepreneurs.

Giving back is central to her mission. Gray & Graham sponsors Mutts to Models, benefiting Scott’s Wish Foundation, and Hot Mama by Haute Off the Rack, supporting single mothers. “Being able to contribute to something bigger than myself is a privilege,” she says.

Through her Stylist Future initiative, she provides retirement plans and benefits for her team—an opportunity rarely offered in the industry. By recruiting new stylists and guiding them through her apprentice program, she ensures they are fully booked and thriving within a year.

Beyond business, Abbie stays grounded through faith, gratitude, and mentorship, helping the next generation of stylists achieve independence and success.

“Don’t

wait until you’re ready. The perfect moment rarely comes. Take the leap. Growth lives on the other side of fear.”

RACHELLE NURSE

Some businesses are built for profit — Rachelle Nurse built hers to save lives.

After years of growing as an entrepreneur, her proudest accomplishment isn’t found on a balance sheet — it’s found in the faces of confident kids walking out of Goldfish Swim School in St. Tammany Parish. For Rachelle, opening the parish’s first year-round, indoor swim school wasn’t just about filling a gap — it was about meeting a need that could change everything. “We’re teaching skills that can save a child’s life,” she says. “There’s no greater mission than that.”

What began as a desire for flexibility and freedom in business became

something much deeper — a calling. With every parent who shares a story of their child safely navigating a water emergency, Rachelle is reminded why she started. It’s what drives her to keep showing up, keep expanding access, and keep fighting for water safety education for every child — regardless of background or circumstance.

Her advice to others? Don’t wait until you’re ready. “The perfect moment rarely comes,” she says. “Take the leap. Growth lives on the other side of fear.”

At the end of the day, Rachelle hopes to be remembered not just as a business owner — but as someone who made a real difference. One swimmer at a time. One life at a time.

ALISON BURNS

Alison Burns is the epitome of resilience and vision. She built her business from the ground up—without outside capital—proving that determination and sacrifice pave the way for success. Today, she leads an extraordinary team, predominantly women, who help execute her mission of service and integrity.

Her journey began with a keen eye for an underserved need in the industry. Recognizing that small businesses lacked trusted financial guidance, she created a company that acts as a partner, not just a provider. Through transparency and education, she ensures businesses understand their financial commitments and have the best possible options. For Alison, success isn’t just about winning—it’s about lifting others up along the way.

Her advice for aspiring entrepreneurs? Accept that control is often an illusion—sometimes, you just have to let the ride unfold. She embraces the dynamic nature of business while staying anchored in her values: strength, kindness, and no-nonsense leadership. A firm believer in the power of community, Alison finds inspiration in the openness of South Louisiana, where she supports young entrepreneurs, especially girls, in chasing their big dreams.

Beyond business, she recharges through movement and learning, drawing wisdom from leaders like Tony Robbins and Jim Collins. Her mantra? A rising tide lifts all boats. And with her unwavering commitment to excellence, Alison Burns is undoubtedly one of the women creating waves for others to rise.

The Power of Connection WOMEN BUILDING STRONGER NETWORKS

In today’s interconnected world, the ability to build and sustain meaningful relationships is a cornerstone of success, especially for women. Strong networks are about more than just career advancement— they’re key to cultivating supportive communities that inspire, empower, and thrive. But effective networking isn’t simply about attending events or exchanging business cards. It requires authenticity, intention, and a willingness to give as much as you take.

The foundation of any successful network lies in authenticity. People are drawn to genuine connections that go beyond surface-level interactions. When approaching networking opportunities, focus on creating real conversations. Instead of asking what someone does or how they can help you, try to understand their passions, challenges, and long-term goals. This

approach fosters trust and paves the way for relationships that are both meaningful and enduring.

Intention is another essential element of building a network. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by endless networking opportunities, but the key is to prioritize those that align with your personal and professional values. Whether it’s joining a professional organization, attending local events, or participating in community groups, choosing spaces where you feel aligned increases the likelihood of forming valuable connections. Setting clear goals— such as finding a mentor or exploring new industries—helps guide your efforts effectively.

While in-person interactions remain vital, digital tools like LinkedIn and professional networking apps offer ways to stay connected and expand

your circle. These platforms make it easy to follow up, share insights, and keep relationships active even after initial meetings. A simple email, comment, or congratulations on someone’s achievements can make all the difference in maintaining rapport.

Finally, strong networks thrive on reciprocity. Offering support, sharing resources, and celebrating others’ successes creates a culture of mutual benefit. When women empower one another through authentic and intentional connections, they not only grow individually but also contribute to thriving professional and personal communities.

By embracing these strategies, women can harness the power of connection to build networks that enrich their lives and transform their communities.

BADINGER CEO SANDY

Sandy Badinger’s journey from staff accountant at a small community hospital to CEO of a twocampus, 331-bed medical center is a powerful example of what’s possible when talent, determination, and heart come together. Now leading Slidell Memorial Hospital, she takes pride in working alongside a team of dedicated professionals committed to improving lives.

“It’s an honor to guide such a passionate and talented team,” she says.

Her path into business began early, inspired by her father. While working as his assistant in high school, she learned the fundamentals of accounting and customer service— but more importantly, she learned the value of hard work. That early foundation shaped her leadership style: collaborative, values-driven, and always evolving.

One lesson she’s carried with her throughout her career? Surround yourself with people who challenge and inspire you. “Success is never achieved alone,” she says. “It’s built on collaboration.”

Sandy’s deep love for the Slidell community is clear. She’s passionate about supporting organizations that advance access to local, high-quality healthcare—a mission she’s championed throughout her career. Currently, she is leading the effort on a public vote to lower the hospital’s millage, a move that will expand services, improve facilities and ensure community members have greater access to the care they need locally.

More than anything, she hopes to be remembered as someone who listened well, led with compassion, and made a lasting impact on the health and strength of the community she serves.

With nearly three decades in Covington’s automotive industry, Laurie McCants has built more than a business—she’s built people. “Watching some employees start off in the most basic positions and work their way into higher-paid, more confident roles has been the most rewarding part of my career,” she reflects.

Laurie’s journey began in banking, but her passion for finance and all things automotive pulled her into a new world of opportunity. Over the years, she’s cultivated a loyal, high-performing team—many of whom have grown right alongside her. She attributes this success to a shared commitment: “If I’m committed to them, I hope they’re equally committed to the company.”

Known for her tireless work ethic, Laurie balances her demanding career with a heart for service. She supports organizations like the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Mutts to Models, and she’s currently a Commissioner on the Louisiana Motor Vehicle Commission and serves on several local boards.

In a fast-paced world, Laurie stays grounded through Pilates, swimming, time with family and pets—and her faith. “The Bible is my favorite book and my daily guide,” she shares. When asked about her legacy, her response is clear: “I hope they remember that I gave back to the community every chance I could, worked harder than anyone at my level, and truly cared about our employees and our customers.”

“Success is sweeter when it’s shared— especially with the people who’ve grown alongside you.”

How Women-Led Initiatives Are Transforming the Northshore

The Northshore is thriving, thanks to the dedication and vision of women who are spearheading innovative initiatives across the region. These efforts, often fueled by collaboration and creativity, are addressing key challenges while leaving a lasting impact on the community. Rather than focusing on individual organizations, the collective influence of these initiatives highlights the power of shared purpose and leadership.

From education to environmental sustainability, women-led projects are driving meaningful change. In schools, female educators and administrators are implementing programs that promote STEM learning, arts integration, and social-emotional development. These initiatives not only enhance students’ academic experiences but also prepare them for the challenges of tomorrow.

it’s through coastal restoration projects or sustainable community practices, these initiatives are helping protect local ecosystems while educating residents about their role in environmental stewardship.

Healthcare and wellness are also seeing the benefits of women’s leadership. Female-driven programs focus on improving access to healthcare, advocating for mental health resources, and promoting wellness education. These initiatives are breaking down barriers to care and ensuring that the Northshore community remains healthy and resilient.

What makes these efforts truly transformative is their ripple effect. Women-led initiatives inspire collaboration among individuals, businesses, and government entities, creating a network of support that amplifies their impact. They show that addressing community challenges is not just about solving problems but also about building a culture of empowerment and progress.

In the environmental sector, women are leading efforts to preserve the Northshore’s natural beauty. Whether

The Northshore’s future is brighter because of the collective contributions of these women-led initiatives. By fostering innovation, collaboration, and communityfocused solutions, they are paving the way for a stronger, more connected region—one project at a time.

CORRINN FISHER

Corrinn Fisher has always had a natural eye for beauty—but it’s her heart for people that truly sets her apart. Long before she ever launched Corrinn Fisher Interiors, she was the kind of person who noticed the little things: what made a room feel peaceful, what made a space feel like home.

What started with flipping through catalogs as a young girl has grown into a thriving interior design business rooted in trust, intention, and a whole lot of heart. Corrinn’s path wasn’t linear—but it was purposeful. Each chapter, from working in home furnishings to publishing to design, prepared her for the moment she decided to leap—and never look back.

She built her business on faith and has expanded it with grace, guided by a belief that design should feel personal. Her retail store is more than a place to source pieces; it’s a space where relationships are built and visions come to life.

Corrinn often says, “Your home is a reflection of who you are.” And that’s exactly how she approaches her work—with care, creativity, and soul.

From initial sketches to final installs, she makes it feel easy—like she was meant to do this. And if you ask anyone who’s worked with her, they’ll tell you: she was.

Corrinn Fisher Interiors is not just a business—it’s her calling.

BRANDI Mc ANDREW

Five years ago, Brandi McAndrew, APRN, MSN, FNP-C, walked into a medspa while travel nursing in Texas—and something clicked. In that moment, she saw the future: a career where artistry and medicine could coexist, where women could feel seen, safe, and beautiful. She enrolled in Nurse Practitioner school the very next day, chasing a vision that would soon become her purpose.

Since then, Brandi has poured herself into her work—through long hours, hard lessons, and bold decisions. But she knows she didn’t get here alone. Family, friends, and patients have carried her through. What she’s built is more than a business—it’s a reflection of her integrity, resilience, and a deep desire to uplift others.

What makes her proudest isn’t the growth—it’s showing her daughter what’s possible. That women can lead. That success comes from staying true to yourself. That care, when done with heart, becomes a legacy.

Brandi's approach to aesthetics continues to evolve, embracing regenerative treatments that work with the body— not against it. She’s deeply committed to patient safety, natural results, and education that empowers others to feel confident in their choices.

Now, The Aesthetic Haus is expanding with a second location in Old Gretna—proof that when you lead with purpose, growth will follow. She hopes her patients remember this: she stood behind every product, every outcome, and every woman she served—with honesty, intention, and care

ELISE LORIO

Elise Lorio never set out to simply own a salon—she set out to build something bigger. As the owner of SVQ Beauty, she has created an environment where women feel empowered, supported, and inspired. One of her proudest accomplishments is the community she’s built within her team, mentoring stylists and leading by example. “I love helping these women feel more confident and capable in reaching their goals, and they truly do the same for me,” she shares.

Her journey into salon ownership began as a personal mission to create a healthier work environment where she could truly connect with clients. Over time, that mission evolved into something even greater: fostering a space where both her team and clients feel valued and excited to grow. She believes success isn’t just about talent—it’s about building the right culture. “You can’t do it alone,” she says. “Take the time to find people who share your vision, nurture them, and watch them grow.”

“I want my clients and team to remember that they were seen, heard, and valued.”

Beyond the salon, Elise is deeply invested in her local community. As a mother of four, she is passionate about supporting local schools, teachers, and fellow parents. Whether it’s fundraising, donating supplies, or simply showing up, she believes in giving back. She hopes her legacy is more than just great hair—it’s the way she made people feel. “I want my clients and team to remember that they were seen, heard, and valued,” she says. “That’s what truly matters.”

Kat Parker is a woman on a mission—to remind women of their power, purpose, and potential. With a background in corporate leadership, Kat witnessed firsthand the barriers women face in maledominated industries: imposter syndrome, lack of representation, and the pressure to conform. These experiences ignited a passion in her not just to speak up, but to create real pathways for women to rise.

Today, Kat is the founder of Empower360 Leadership Solutions LLC, a leadership and life coach, speaker, and advocate. Through her work, she equips high-achieving women, entrepreneurs, and corporate leaders with the tools to overcome self-doubt, build emotional intelligence, set boundaries, and lead with confidence. She’s also the current President of Professional Women of St. Tammany and City Ambassador for EmpowerHer Life Northshore, dedicating herself to platforms that uplift women at every stage.

Kat Parker impacting women

Kat’s inspiration runs deep and personal. “I was that woman who played small in rooms she should have been shining in,” she shares. “I waited for permission to lead until I realized I had to give it to myself.” That internal shift changed everything—and it’s the same transformation she now facilitates for other women. Her goal is simple but powerful: to help women trust their voice, own their story, and show up fully for their lives.

One of Kat’s favorite client success stories involves a woman who struggled with communication in the workplace. After reframing her directness through the lens of emotional intelligence, she not only improved her professional relationships but stepped into a new role that aligned with her passion—working with children and being recognized for the impact she creates. It’s proof of what happens when women lead themselves first.

“When women gather in support of each other, it becomes clear—we are not alone. And together, we are truly unstoppable.”

Kat also leads with action. Under her leadership, Professional Women of St. Tammany has hosted retreats, awards, scholarships, and networking events that foster leadership and growth. A standout moment? Bringing 20 business students from Fontainebleau High School to a PWST luncheon, giving them early exposure to womenled spaces and mentorship.

When asked about role models, Kat credits Michelle Obama: “Her example of grace, resilience, and emotional intelligence reminds me that leadership doesn’t mean being the loudest—it means being intentional and true to yourself.”

To Kat, community is everything. “When women gather in support of each other, it becomes clear—we are not alone. And together, we are truly unstoppable.”

ASHLEY GEOGHEGAN

For Dr. Ashley Geoghegan—known by many as Dr. G—veterinary medicine has never been just a career. It’s a calling. From her early days as a U.S. Army Captain caring for military working dogs to building a veterinary hospital unlike any other, her journey has always been driven by compassion, purpose, and a deep belief in whole-body healing.

After years of seeing pets in their homes through her mobile hospital, Dr. G gained a rare understanding of how animals live, heal, and connect with their families. That insight, paired with her education in traditional Chinese veterinary medicine, inspired VetNaturally—a place where modern medicine meets holistic care.

Today, VetNaturally is a sanctuary for pets and their people. From advanced rehabilitation therapies to a full skin health spa, every detail is designed with love, science, and soul. Dr. G, alongside Dr. Jeff Schumacher— an Army veteran and skilled surgeon—leads a team that treats each patient as their own.

Clients travel from all over the country for this level of care, because they know they’re walking into something extraordinary.

In Dr. G’s words: “We don’t just treat pets—we help them live their best, healthiest lives.” And that mission is felt in every heartbeat of VetNaturally.

Why Print Marketing Still Matters

In today’s hyper-digital world, the benefits of print marketing are undeniable:

Tangibility: Print offers something digital cannot—a physical connection. People can touch, hold, and save it.

Trust and Credibility: A printed piece conveys permanence and trust, cutting through the noise of fleeting digital ads.

Emotional Connection: Print engages the senses and evokes nostalgia, creating a more profound brand bond.

Longevity: Unlike digital ads that disappear in seconds, print materials stick around and often get passed along to others.

Less Competition: With inboxes overflowing, print offers a rare opportunity to stand out.

Multi-Sensory Impact: The texture of a highquality brochure or the scent of an innovative direct mail piece makes print memorable.

Personalization: Advances in technology allow for hyper-targeted and customized print campaigns.

PRIORITIZING SELF-CARE IN BUSY LIVES

In today’s fast-paced world, self-care often takes a backseat to demanding schedules and endless to-do lists. However, prioritizing personal wellness is essential for maintaining balance and resilience. The good news? Selfcare doesn’t have to be time-consuming or complicated. Here are 10 quick and easy self-care practices for busy women to incorporate into their daily lives:

Start with Hydration: Begin your day with a glass of water to rehydrate and energize your body after sleep.

Breathe Mindfully: Take five deep breaths during stressful moments to reset your focus and calm your mind.

Move Your Body: Incorporate 10-minute stretches or quick walks into your routine to release tension and boost energy.

Snack Smart: Keep nutritious snacks like nuts or fruit on hand to fuel your body and avoid energy crashes.

Digital Detox: Set aside 15 minutes daily to unplug from screens and enjoy a quiet moment or nature.

Create a Nightly Routine: Spend five minutes journaling or meditating before bed to ease your mind and prepare for restful sleep.

Connect with Loved Ones: Send a quick message or make a short call to someone you care about to boost your emotional well-being.

Practice Gratitude: Jot down three things you’re thankful for each day to cultivate a positive mindset.

Organize Your Space: Spend a few minutes tidying up to reduce visual clutter and increase focus.

Pamper Yourself: Treat yourself to a mini spa session with a face mask or hand massage during downtime.

Journeys ENTREPRENEURIAL

Starting a business is a journey that requires creativity, determination, and a clear vision. For women entrepreneurs, the road from passion to profit is filled with opportunities and challenges that test their resolve and reward their perseverance. Success isn’t achieved overnight—it’s the result of identifying opportunities, embracing calculated risks, and navigating setbacks with resilience.

The entrepreneurial mindset starts with spotting opportunities. This often begins with identifying a gap in the market or recognizing a personal passion that aligns with consumer needs. Entrepreneurs who succeed are those who take time to research their target audience, understanding what they want and how to deliver it uniquely.

Risk-taking is another cornerstone of entrepreneurship. It’s not about reckless decisions but rather calculated risks backed by research and planning. Whether it’s launching a new product, investing in marketing, or expanding into a new market, each step involves weighing potential rewards against possible challenges. Learning to embrace uncertainty while maintaining a clear strategy can be a game-changer.

FROM PASSION TO PROFIT

Building a strong support network is also essential. Entrepreneurs benefit from surrounding themselves with mentors, advisors, and like-minded peers who can provide guidance, share experiences, and offer encouragement. In communities like the Northshore, resources such as professional organizations, small business development centers, and local chambers of commerce play a vital role in fostering connections and offering tools for growth.

Lastly, resilience is key. Every entrepreneurial journey includes moments of doubt and failure, but these challenges are opportunities to learn and grow. By staying focused on their goals and adapting to change, entrepreneurs can turn setbacks into stepping stones.

Transforming passion into profit takes more than hard work—it requires strategic thinking, resourcefulness, and a commitment to long-term growth. For women entrepreneurs, the journey is as rewarding as the destination, leaving a lasting impact on their communities and beyond.

DR. HAILEY

BALDWIN-M c SWAIN

BOARD CERTIFIED AUDIOLOGIST

Dr. Hailey Baldwin-McSwain is a woman who understands the power of balance. As a medical professional and mother of two, she’s proudest of how she manages to hold space for both—delivering excellent care to her patients while being present for her young children. “Women don’t get enough credit for managing both the demands of work and the warmth of family life,” she says. From early mornings to patient visits, and ending the day with bedtime routines, she shows up with intention in every role.

Her path to audiology was inspired by her grandfather, a WWII veteran who experienced significant hearing loss. When he passed during her first college audiology course,

it felt like more than coincidence. “It was a sign,” she says. That moment became the foundation for a career built on compassion, education, and trust.

Dr. Baldwin-McSwain hopes to be remembered not only for her clinical skill, but for her ability to educate and empower. Whether treating complex hearing loss or guiding someone through unfamiliar information, she meets patients where they are—with care and clarity.

She’s also excited about emerging innovations like Auracast, which promises a more inclusive future for hearing aid users. It’s one more way she’s helping move the field forward.

Desi Allums is the definition of resilience turned into purpose. As the founder of EmpowerHER Life, she built more than just a six-figure brand—she sparked a movement rooted in truth, healing, and connection. Her proudest achievement isn’t found in revenue, but in the ripple effect of women rising—trusting each other, collaborating without competition, and stepping boldly into their power through what she calls the “Womenship Movement.”

Desi’s journey was born from a place of pain. After enduring adult bullying and being publicly shamed, she made a decision that would change everything: to create what she herself once needed—a space where women didn’t have to shrink, apologize, or hide their stories. EmpowerHER Life was her answer. But her real breakthrough came from looking within and healing her own past. Desi bravely shares her story as a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and reflects on the ways unhealed wounds once shaped how she treated others. Today, she’s a champion for compassion, growth, and inner transformation.

Her advice to other women? Stay committed to your vision—no one else can see it like you can. And the ones meant for your journey will recognize your light.

Whether she’s advocating for Hope House, admiring the selfless work of Habitat for Humanity, or just spending time in worship, Desi stays grounded in faith, purpose, and love. Her favorite reminder comes from the anthem “This Is Me”—because after everything she’s faced, she’s no longer afraid to be seen.

Desi Allums is more than a woman of excellence—she’s a woman who reminds others they were created for more. Through vulnerability, vision, and a whole lot of heart, she’s changing what it means to lead—and what it means to belong.

Michelle Mayne-Dupas has built her career on more than just legal expertise — she’s built it on heart. As an attorney, she is most proud of the balance she’s created between her professional success and her role as a mother.

“Owning and operating my own firm while raising my children to always come first is my proudest accomplishment,” she shares. It’s a reflection of her values — that true success isn’t measured by titles or awards, but by the impact left on people’s lives.

Her career was fueled by confidence — in herself, in her work, and in the unwavering support of her family and friends. Over time, that confidence has evolved into a steadfast commitment to serve both her clients and her community with kindness and care.

Michelle’s dedication to the Northshore extends far beyond her office walls. She serves on the Board of Trustees for the Children’s Museum of St. Tammany, volunteers with the Junior League of Greater Covington, Northshore Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, and supports NAMI Southeast Louisiana. For her, it’s about investing in the place she calls home — a community that has always invested in her.

When asked what she hopes people remember about her, the answer is simple: “That I’ve always tried to be kind, thoughtful, and helpful in my work.”

Because for Michelle, impact isn’t just about the outcome — it’s about the way people feel when they’ve been in your care.
