A Night at the Museum EVENT COVERED BY ERIC DONAHUE
On Friday, November 22, The Hands On Discovery Center hosted their annual Night at the Museum Gala Fundraiser. The night included VIP tours involving an insiders look at what goes on behind the scenes at the Gray Fossil site. Champagne and appetizers were served. The theme of the night was “Fire & Ice” and included various exhibits and demonstrations involving both elements. There were both silent and voice auctions. Patrons were also able to dance the night away following event. Since being opened in 1987, the museum has more than doubled its exhibit space and welcomed over 2 million visitors! Over 70,000 people travel from nearly all states to visit the museum every year and it keeps on growing. The new all-age science center offers fun interactive programs and exhibits that include a musical Tesla coil, giant building blocks, a maker studio inviting guests to engineer a rocket, create a masterpiece or uncover something new. Guests can also get up close and personal with an active prehistoric fossil dig site dating back 5 million years. Exhibits and programs feature plant and animal fossils that have been unearthed at the site. For more information please visit their website at www.visithandson. org
