After a new password if set, you will be able to log into the MUC using your advisor’s email address and the created password. 7. For more details on how to navigate the MUC, please view the Kiwanis help video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gV47UE5uas If the faculty advisor is leaving, he/she should update the faculty advisor's information to that of the new faculty advisor. BEING TREASURER: BUDGETS

Having a Club Budget is critical for standard club operations. A budget lets everyone know how and where the funds in the club are being used. You should work on your budget with your Club President and Advisor, and then have it approved by a vote of your Club Board of Directors. When your budget is approved, you should send it to your school’s financial secretary, your Sponsoring Kiwanis Club, and me, your District Treasurer. I will actually look over it and give you some pointers on how to improve it! Here are some good points to make sure to have in your club budget. Club Income – Club Dues – Club Shirt Profits – Sponsoring Kiwanis Club Support – Left Over Balance

Club Expenditures – Officer Allowances – Committee Expenses – – Event Attendance Costs – (DCON, ICON, etc.) – Meeting Expenses – Officer Training – Website Hosting

Office Supplies Service Project Supplies

A Club Budget template can be found on the District Website under Treasurer Resources.

DUES: EARLY BIRD

Sending in International and District Dues during the Early Bird time period is a huge achievement! This achievement is captured by a banner patch sent to clubs by International. Here is a list of all clubs that have been distinguished as an Early Bird Club. Boulevard Academy

FUNDRAISING

Candy Grams: Sell simple candy grams to your entire school. When someone buys one, let them write a note to their special one or let them stay anonymous. Hot Coco Sales: When it gets cold at your school, set up a table in your main hallway and sell hot coco and cookies to warm everyone up! Coat Checks: At homecoming dances, or other formal events, set up a coat check with an optional donation box. To make this even better, you can ask for attendees to bring jackets they don’t want anymore and you can give the donated coats to a homeless shelter.

Medium

Hard

Team Dodge Ball Tournament: Have a sign up sheet for teams of ten people and a mandatory donation amount. Then one day after school make a bracket of all teams and have them play each other. The winning team can win a part of the donations.

Car Smash: Before or during finals week everyone is stressing over their tests, so let them take off some steam by smashing a car! Ask local junk car yards for a donation of one or more cars and then set it up in your parking lot (make sure to put a tarp under the car to catch residual liquids). I suggest getting two to three sledgehammers and then charging $1 for three hits on the car.

Spelling Bee: Host a school wide spelling bee, with a mandatory donation. The winners can win a part of the donations. Car Wash: Set up a car wash at your school. Make sure you have signs that members can hold by the street and all the soap, water, and cleaning supplies so you can wash the cars properly. Also, don’t forget the drying and shining towels to make sure the cars leave your event looking “spick and span.”

“Rent” A Key Clubber: Have teachers sign up to donate to “rent” a Key Club member to help them with chores around their house, yard work, grading tests/homework or anything else they need help with.
