Welkom aan Kaapstad Suid-Afrika Cape Town is the quintessential melting pot, it is a city alive with creativity, colour, sounds and tastes. Whilst walking through the city’s streets and meeting its people, you will fall in love with its natural beauty, creative freedom and incredible spirit. Cape Town is located on the South Western corner of South Africa in the Western Cape region on the Atlantic coast. Table Mountain, with its near vertical cliffs and flat-topped summit (3,300 ft); combined with the Devil’s Peak and Lion’s Head on either side forms a dramatic mountainous backdrop enclosing the central city area of Cape Town in the so-called City Bowl. Beside the Atlantic Ocean, Cape Town has vast sandy beaches great for surfing, windsurfing, SCUBA diving, motor boating, sailing and deep sea fishing. Or if the taste of fine wine is more to your liking then the vineyards of Stellenbosch or Franschoek are not to be missed. These are just some of the activities that can be enjoyed during your stay in Cape Town, and of course the port area has an abundance of great dining and entertainment opportunities. Cape Town enjoys a moderately Mediterranean climate and Golden Oldies Cricketers will enjoy average temperatures of between 15 – 26 degrees Celsius during the Festival. Cape Town has a proud Cricketing history and there is an abundance of local Cricket Clubs, all with grass wickets that are looking forward to showcasing the best that Cape Town and Western Province Cricket has to offer.
