intage Hockey is open to teams of all ages (over 35), with varying levels of agility, ability and experience. All that is needed is a love of the game, an enthusiasm for friendly competition against teams from other parts of the world, an enjoyment of travel to ‘once in a lifetime’ destinations and an ability to enjoy fun and friendship on and off the field. • The World Vintage Hockey Carnival is run by New Zealand based events management company, VSL Events who have been creating and managing International Sports Events for over 10 years with Vintage Rugby and Vintage Cricket leading the way. • The World Vintage Hockey Carnival runs for one week with four days of games. Non playing days are focused on local tours, shopping, relaxing on beautiful beaches, enjoying the company of friends and experiencing the cultures, cuisines and history of the host city. • Games are 25 minute halves with a 5 minute break at halftime. Each team fields 11 players and substitutions can be made at any time. Vintage Hockey is designed for mens’ teams, womens’ teams and mixed teams. Teams are asked to advise their group in the following categories:

EY?

Social • Semi-competitive • Competitive Every effort is made to grade teams according to their selected playing category and approximate average ages. The FIH Laws of Hockey apply with variations to suit the age and ability of participating teams. Teams, of course, may vary the rules prior to a game by mutual agreement between the team captains but can only be varied in order to promote and preserve the Vintage Sports code - good fun, good competition and the full participation of all those who wish to play. All games are expected to be played in a sportsmanlike manner in keeping with the objectives of Vintage Hockey: To provide good quality hockey in friendly surroundings in a wonderful destination. To enjoy fun, friendship, good competition and camaraderie on and off the field. In summary Vintage Hockey Carnivals can be the ultimate experience for an avid mature hockey player who still has the desire to ‘compete’ against and relax in the company of similar aged hockey people from all over the world in amazing international locations.
