Join us in picturesque Hunter Valley, New South Wales, from the 15th to the 20th of June 2015 for a week of Fun, Friendship and Fraternity. Golden Oldies Rugby Festivals are a place for Over 35 Rugby players to relive their past glories on and off the field. Our philosophy is that we are inclusive and not exclusive so we welcome all players of different abilities. The 2016 TransTasman Golden Oldies Rugby Festival features 3 games per team, two enjoyable functions, supplied rugby balls and a week of pure rugby enjoyment. Hunter Valley Harlequins

Hunter Valley - just 2 hours north of Sydney. As Australia’s oldest wine region, the Hunter Valley is a must visit for everyone who likes a good drop. The region which is home to more than 150 cellar doors and many internationally renowned brands. The region also offers fantastic golf courses, hot air ballooning and much, much more. The charming village of Lovedale could certainly be a front runner for having the most picturesque Rugby fields in the world. During the Festival you will be fortunate enough to be playing amongst the prized vineyards of the Tatler Winery which will be a truly unique experience.


FESTIVAL PROGRAMME

Tatler Vineyards will welcome the 2016 Trans-Tasman Golden Oldies Rugby Festival with open arms and will be the hospitality hub and grounds during the Festival week. Tatler has six fantastic rugby fields which will be primed ready for your arrival. The Tatler Vineyards produce some of the finest wine in the region which will be the perfect take home gift for your loved ones if they haven’t traveled with you. After the game relax and have a taste at the wonderful Tatler Tapas Café.

Wednesday June 15 Today’s the day. Teams will begin to arrive in Hunter Valley and settle into their accommodation. Team managers will then meet for the Festival briefing in the Crowne Plaza Verdelho room for the Festival briefing. Managers, supporters and team members will then head to the Crowne Plaza’s Cabernet Merlot room for the opening function. Thursday June 16 Teams will be transferred to the picturesque Tatler Vineyard Rugby fields for the first day of play. Teams then have the evening free to enjoy the local Hunter Valley hospitality. Friday June 17 A day of leisure to explore the wonderful Hunter Valley. We suggest visiting one of the regions infinite wineries and vineyards, ballooning, golf. Visit our website to view our fantastic VSL Travel tours. Saturday June 18 Teams will be transferred to the Tatler Vineyard Rugby fields for the second day of play. In the evening, teams are invited to join the hosts Hunter Valley Harlequins for a fantastic cocktail function which will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel (optional extra). Sunday June 19 Teams will be transferred to the Tatler Vineyard Rugby fields for the third and final day of play. In the evening, teams will come together in the Crowne Plaza’s Cabernet Merlot room for the finale dinner and awards. Attendees will be supplied with a premium buffet meal, drinks and entertainment. Monday June 20 Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. Today teams and supporters will depart for home or for further travel.


Golden Oldies Trans-Tasman Rugby Festival Packages The Crowne Plaza will be your home for the Festival week. The hotel will come alive as it becomes the Festival Village and teams and supporters get the chance to mix away from the rugby field in relaxed surroundings. The Crowne Plaza offers immaculate deluxe, two bedroom and three bedroom accommodation.
