Zunda Sweets
Oysters
While red bean paste is a staple filling for Japanese sweets, in this region, sweet green soybean paste is equally, if not more, popular. This is traditionally spread over mochi (rice cakes).
Sendai Bay is blessed with a bounty of oysters, also known as the "milk of the ocean". Enjoy them raw, deep-fried, pan-seared or in hot pots. These crustaceans are at their plumpest from October to March.
