G E N E R A L I N F O R M AT I O N Registration Information Payment is required at the time of registration. Please follow one of the four steps below. 1. Online Visit www.Waukee.org to pay with a credit and debit card. Credit/Debit card payments are only accepted online. 2. Mail Printable registrations can be found at www.Waukee.org and mailed to 805 University Avenue, Waukee, Iowa 50263. 3. Drop-off Printable registrations can be found at www.Waukee.org and dropped in our drop off box to the right of the Parks & Rec. office’s front door during after hours. 4. Walk-in Don’t have a computer or a printer? Stop in the Parks & Rec. offices and use one of our printed registrations. Office hours are listed on page 2.
FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions When Do I Register? Registration will open March 1st. Most classes fill up fast, so don’t wait too long! Registration, for most programs, will stay open until one week prior to the start date, unless the program is already full. Cancellations Programs, activities, special events, and festivals that are canceled, postponed, or changed in location will be announced as soon as possible. Photo Policy Photos may be taken of participants and guests in programs, activities, special events and festivals which may be used in promotional materials, press releases, and on the City of Waukee’s website/social media.

Confirmation Please mark your calendar when signing up for a program because the Waukee Parks and Recreation Department does not send program confirmations or reminders. Refund Policy 1. Refund requests must be made prior to the first day of the program. 2. A $5 nonrefundable handling fee will be deducted from the refund when an enrollee withdraws prior to the first day of class. Once the first day of class arrives, refunds are not issued unless the class or program is cancelled by the Waukee Parks and Recreation Department. 3. Refunds will be issued by check if original payment was made by check or cash. If payment was made online with a credit card, then credit will be put back on to the card. Please allow 2-4 weeks for refunds to be processed.
Ball Field Rentals & Reservations Ball Field Rental Paid ball field rentals are not allowed until June 16. Please email JVandeKamp@Waukee.org for more information. Waukee Ball Field Practice Time Teams wishing to reserve a ball field for practice will utilize a “Call-In” System. The Call-In dates are listed in the left hand column below and in the right hand column are the weeks you can reserve practice time. Teams are allowed only 1 hour of practice time per week (M-F). Weekends are first come – first served outside of Parks & Recreation Leagues. Centennial Park: fields 1-3 and Warrior Park: fields 4-7. Reservations are only accepted by PHONE. Teams need to complete a Ball Field Reservation Form at www.Waukee.org and turn in to the Parks & Recreation Office prior to calling in for ball field time. Call-In Date

WaukeeFest: A Festival on the Triangle WaukeeFest is a one day festival with activities and fun for all ages. Several Waukee Community Groups participate in this annual event that showcases the City of Waukee, Waukee Businesses, and the Waukee Community. Held down on the historic Waukee Triangle, attendants come early for the parade and stay late to listen to Sons of Gladys Kravitz and enjoy the beverage garden. Kids’ activities (including inflatable and hands-on art projects), food, and entertainment fill the day. Check out page 9 for Bags and Disc Golf Tournament information. Location:

4th of July Celebration We’re having an all-day celebration for our Nation’s independence this year! Activities start at 2 PM with our annual parade through downtown, ending at Centennial Park where the fun continues for the rest of the day and night. Come try out our inflatable activities and a **NEW** Zip Line ride. We will have plenty of food vendors to choose from to keep you full. YO U T H S U M M E R C A M P S Bricks 4 Kidz® Building Series
Bricks 4 Kidz® offers project-based programs designed to teach principles and methods of engineering and architecture. The activities are designed to trigger a child’s lively imagination, encourage problem solving and enable children to learn not only by listening and observing, but also by using their fine motor skills and spatial intelligence. Each session offers two feature models; Snowmobile & Mini-Golf Putter (Session 1) and Tilt-o-Whirl & Batman Tumbler (Session 2).

Kid Fit Camp
Get your child out of the house to meet new friends and gain some large and gross motor skills. Each class will consist of games, songs, music and movement, fine and gross motor skills, and meeting new friends! The kids will leave happily worn out! Summer Fun Camp
Join us for an action packed week of summer fun. Participants in this camp will enjoy three days of field trips to an aquatic center, an indoor activity center, and much more! Cheerleading Camp
We are partnering with the Waukee Cheerleading Squad to offer a four day Cheerleading Camp. This camp will provide girls and boys an opportunity to learn cheerleading techniques and new cheers. Get away from the electronics and back into nature! This camp will include nature play in different parks and creek beds, activities that help children relate with natural elements, a field trip to the Kuehn Conservation Center, and an intro class of Bricks 4 Kidz ®. Youth in the Parks
This week-long service learning camp gives participants a chance to learn about community betterment by volunteering at various locations in Waukee and surround areas. The camp consists of morning volunteer activities and the afternoons are filled with fun field trips. Campers will be transported by the Parks and Recreation staff during camp. This is an all-day camp so campers will need to bring a sack lunch each day. Campers will be notified prior to the start of camp of daily activities so they can dress appropriately.

Are you interested in wind turbines and how to save energy? How about learning to power a cell phone with your own energy of motion? You will learn how to think like an engineer by studying wind, influences on wind projects and how wind inspires creativity and design. Enter the cookie factory and become a scientist by testing different cookies, ingredients and baking methods. You will see how every ingredient in the recipe serves a purpose, as does the temperature, and even the sheet you use to bake the cookies plays an important part. YO U T H S P O R T S Mini Sluggers T-ball
Mini Sluggers T-ball is open to boys and girls ages 4 and 5. The program will run 5 weeks with a Tuesday Night League starting June 10th and a Thursday Night League starting June 5th. Mini Sluggers will give kids the opportunity to participate in a summer T-ball league. This league will teach kids the basic fundamentals of the game through practices and games. Participants will be split up on teams and will be scheduled into a 5 game season. Participants must be 4 years old by 6/10/14. Each participant will receive a t-shirt. Volunteer coaches are needed!
Tennis Camp
This 4-day camp is designed for participants interested in learning the game of tennis. Participants will learn the basic information and skills needed to play the game of tennis. Little Kickers Soccer
This is an introductory soccer league for kid’s ages 4-5 (must be 4 years old by 9/4/14). The program is designed to teach kids the basics about the game of soccer while having fun. Game play will be 3 on 3 with 4 quarters of 8 minutes continuous clock with no goalie. Teams will consist of 5 or 6 players with plenty of playing time for each player. Volunteer coaches are needed! Youth Soccer Clinic
Join us for this three session fundamental clinic for 4 and 5 year olds. Children will be taught the basics of soccer, the positions, some rules, sportsmanship, kicking, passing, and throwing of the soccer ball. The second session will be a review of the skills learned and a short inter-squad scrimmage. The third session will be a “real” soccer game implementing everything learned in the first two sessions. Participants will need to bring a water bottle. Shin guards and cleats can be worn, but are not necessary for this clinic. Parents are encouraged to stay and watch! Participants will receive a t-shirt. This is a great introduction to our Little Kickers Soccer Program. Min/Max:

2014 Fall Girls’ Recreational Softball League The league is open to players entering grades 3-7 for the upcoming 2014-2015 school year. 3rd & 4th grade will be together and 5th – 7th grade will be together. The league will be a shortened 6 game season that runs September 15 – October 2 (games played on Monday & Thursday nights). Practices will begin after Labor Day. Teams will be formed at random. Coed Softball Leagues – Tuesday Nights Adult Coed Softball Leagues will be offered at the Centennial Park fields. League action will take place on Tuesday nights with games at 6:15 PM, 7:15 PM, 8:15 PM, and 9:15 PM. First season will start June 10th and run through July 29th. Second season will start August 12th and run through September 23rd.
Men’s Softball Leagues – Wednesday Nights Adult Men’s Softball Leagues fill up fast, sign your team up today! We will be offering a Wednesday night league played on field #1 at Centennial Park fields and we can take up to 8 teams. Each season will include a 7-game schedule with the first season starting April 16th. There will be a total of 3 separate seasons throughout the spring and summer of 2014.
Coed Sand Volleyball League – Thursday Nights The Coed Sand Volleyball League is played at the sand volleyball courts in Centennial Park. League action will take place on Thursday nights starting at 6:00 PM. The league will start June 12th and run through August 7th. This is a “call your own” league, so no referee will be provided.
Bags League

Join us for our 8-week bags league played on Wednesday evenings at Centennial Park. The league can take up to 16 two-person teams. Registrants must sign up as a team, individuals will not be taken. The league will start June 11th and run through August 6th

Romp, stomp, and play. We have the setup to meet your children’s activity and social needs this spring. With toddler toys ranging from blocks to tunnels and mats, there certainly is no shortage of action here. We provide the fun, parents provide the supervision. It’s open gym for toddlers! Kids love to play and parents get to socialize with one another. This is a non-structured activity. Kids are free to play with your supervision.
Tumbling Tots 2
This 30 minute program is designed for little gymnasts to learn the basic tumbling motions. They will improve upon their coordination, strength, and balance by learning somersaults, front flips, back flips, and more. The child must be of the required age prior to the start of the session. Min/Max:

Come join the Plus 50 Club for our monthly potluck meals catered by the Waukee Fareway. Potluck is held at the Waukee Community Center at noon on the first Friday of each month. White Pole Road

Marshalltown’s Masterpieces

All abilities are welcomed so grab a friend and form a 2-woman team. League starts in May with weekly prizes awarded. Men’s Leagues- Monday or Tuesday Nights Our 9-hole Men’s Leagues start in April and are 16 weeks long. These leagues are 2-man team leagues that welcome all abilities. Experienced PGA Instructors will coordinate the lessons to include fun contests and golf skills competitions. The week concludes with our popular Iowa PGA Drive, Chip and Putt Competition. FAC I L I T Y R E N TA L S Community Center reservations can be made one year in advance from the reservation date. Reservations are confirmed when completed form, payment and deposit are returned to the Parks and Recreation Department. Payment for the Center needs to be done so at least one week prior to the reserved date. A Recreation staff member will unlock the Center at your reserved time. Ridge Pointe Pavilion, Centennial Enclosed & Open Shelters, & Windfield Shelter weekend shelter rentals can be reserved six months in advance from the reservation date. Weekday shelter rentals can also be reserved in advance; however weekday reservations are not accepted until after March 1st for the months of March – July and after August 1st for the months of August – February. Reservations are confirmed when completed form, payment and deposit are returned to the Parks & Recreation Department. Keys, if applicable, can be picked up the week of the reservation. Waukee Community Center
675 Walnut Street Waukee’s new Community Center, formerly the Waukee Fire Station, is now available to the public. Inside the 2,800 square foot building is a refrigerator, sink, microwave, oven, and warming drawer. This building has eleven round tables and 90 chairs making it an ideal location for family reunions, small wedding receptions, and business meetings. Ridge Pointe Park Pavilion
655 SE Legacy Pointe Boulevard The Ridge Pointe Pavilion sits on a 21 acre park with a covered concrete patio overlooking the park. Inside the Pavilion is a refrigerator, sink, and microwave along with restrooms that are shared with park users. The Pavilion has six round tables and two rectangle tables, two charcoal grills, and heating making it great during the winter, too. This is ideal for graduation parties or small celebrations. The rental fee is $65 with a $150 deposit.
Centennial Park Enclosed Shelter
1255 Warrior Lane The Enclosed Shelter is located on the Southwest corner of Centennial Park with a playground and restrooms nearby. The Shelter has a small deck overlooking the park and charcoal grilling area. Inside the Shelter are twelve picnic tables. This shelter does not have heating or air-conditioning and is available to rent April 1 – October 31. The rental fee is $40 with no deposit.
Centennial Park Open Air Shelter
1255 Warrior Lane The Open Air Shelter is in the heart of Centennial Park. It is surrounded by open grass areas, the disc golf course, and nearby ball fields, playgrounds and restrooms. Windfield Open Air Shelter
114 Windfield Parkway The Open Air Shelter sits in the middle of the Windfield neighborhood on 5 acres of open grass areas with a ball field backstop and playground nearby. 1255 Warrior Lane Centennial Park offers a wide range of recreational opportunities. The 33-acre park is equipped with 2 sand volleyball courts, 3 ball diamonds, a 12-hole Disc Golf Course, 3 playgrounds, 1 basketball court, a creek, a covered bridge, and 1 open shelter & 1 enclosed shelter. There is plenty of open green space for playing soccer or enjoying a picnic with your family. Centennial Park has it all!
Southfork Park
Located on Southbranch Drive Southfork Park serves as a small neighborhood park. Southfork Park is a 3-acre park with amenities that include a playground set, the Gordon Christianson open shelter, picnic tables, a grill, and benches.
Historic Downtown Triangle Park
Intersection of Ashworth Drive and 6th Street Triangle Park is a half-acre park nestled in the heart of downtown Waukee. It contains a large gazebo and serves as host to many community events throughout the year.
Songbird Park
Located behind 1070 1st Pl, East of Southview Drive Songbird Park has been recognized as a “Backyard Wildlife Habitat” and certified as such by “The National Wildlife Federation”. This 3-acre habitat is certified because of the owner’s conscientious planning, landscaping and sustainable gardening, wildlife may find quality habitat-food, water, cover and places to raise their young.

605 SE Driftwood Lane Grant Park is a 1.5 acre neighborhood park that includes a playground, a joint restroom and sheltered picnic area, and off the street parking.
Ridge Pointe Park
