OFFICIAL RACECARD £3
Welcome to our final day of the Sprint Cup Celebration, which includes our feature race of the meeting; the Betfair Sprint Cup. We have enjoyed two brilliant racedays so far and are looking forward to more fantastic action this afternoon. We have an exciting seven race card this afternoon with the Betfair Sprint Cup off at 3:30pm The speed test over 6f never fails to offer racegoers a thrilling spectacle as the fastest horses in our sport charge down the Haydock Park straight In addition, racegoers will be treated to the Arabian Racing Organisation’s (ARO) The Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Cup taking place at 4:40pm We wish all connections the best of luck in today’s races. We encourage racegoers not to head off after racing, and enjoy live music from Manchester-based Irish Band, The Lucky 15s who will be playing for about an hour after racing. It could be the perfect way to keep your winning celebrations going! As ever, we would like to thank our partners for their continued support. We would like to thank Betfair who have sponsored the full card today and we hope that they, and their guests, have an enjoyable day with us. We hope you all have a wonderful day, and look forward to seeing you back on course very soon Best wishes, Molly Dingwall General Manager

I’d like to welcome all our Annual Badgeholders to Haydock Park on our premier flat day featuring the Betfair Sprint Cup. The Sprint Cup is the pinnacle of the season here at Haydock Park on the level. Today, Emaraaty Ana bids to become the first horse to win this illustrious contest since the great Be Friendly, owned by the wonderful Peter O’Sullevan 55 years ago. Many have tried and failed and I’m sure all members wish Kevin Ryan and Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum every success this afternoon The race has been won by some superstars of the sprinting division prior to today as well as the aforementioned Be Friendly, Green Desert (1986), Danehill (1989), Dayjur (1990), Dream Ahead (2011) and Harry Angel (2017)
ANNUAL MEMBERS NEWSLETTER
I wish you all an enjoyable and successful afternoons racing .
Even the mighty Lochsong has been beaten in this contest 29 years ago. The supporting card is also festooned with quality, the Betfair Ascendant stakes was won by none other than subsequent King George heroine Pyledriver 3 years ago. We also have Group 3 action in the Superior Mile and two exceptionally competitive 14 furlong handicaps for your enjoyment. It gives me great pleasure to announce that 2 viewing boxes are available high up in the County Stand which give a wonderful vista of the racecourse, as well as your exclusive seating area and designated zone within the Grandstand I am delighted to tell you that work is already underway in formulating the Annual Badgeholder package for 2023, details will follow in due course, together with our annual luncheon on Last Fling Day in December Haydock Park in the latter half of the year is always an exciting place to be. We race again in just 20 days’ time, and it is just 11 weeks until our National Hunt highlight of the year, the Betfair Chase.

Several of these appear to be on a steeper upward curve than PONS AELIUS, but this tough and consistent colt appeals as just the type who will rise to the challenge It’s likely that plenty of use will be made of him following his fine effort over 2m at Nottingham and he won’t be easy to peg back.

All horses must parade in the Parade Ring except by permission of the Stewards, but in all cases must pass through the Ring on the way to the Post.
The welfare of the sport’s equine and human participants is paramount to British Horseracing. All racehorses competing in Britain are stabled at the premises of trainers who are licensed by The British Horseracing Authority. The standards demanded by The BHA of licensed racehorse trainers far exceed those prescribed by animal welfare legislation. The British Horseracing Authority similarly licenses every racecourse, setting high standards for the racing surface and all parts of the course used by competitors, both human and equine. BHA Officials ensure that racecourses delivers these standards. In addition Haydock Park Racecourse employs a minimum of three veterinary surgeons, whose sole responsibility it is to provide care to the horses throughout their time at the racecourse. In the event of an incident on the racecourse, any horse affected will receive immediate treatment from the racecourse’s veterinary team. Qualified paramedics and doctors are also on hand in the case of any incident involving a jockey. If any incident occurs during a race it is routine practice for screens to be erected around the horse or jockey receiving treatment. This is to allow the veterinary or medical personnel to make a safe and accurate diagnosis and so that they may perform any treatment in a private and calm environment. If necessary, horses and riders will be transported from the course to receive further treatment at the nearest equine hospital or Accident & Emergency hospital.
