Interdisciplinary Studies

Gender & Women Studies

Programs of Study for Arts and Sciences

Brianne Jacobs, Ph.D. Coordinator Courses in gender and women’s studies provide a focused opportunity to explore gender in both an historical and a contemporary perspective, including the ways in which gender affects human identities and relationships, the representation of gender in the visual arts and literature, and the politics of gender construction. It is a dynamic, multidisciplinary approach to the study and analysis of the experiences, contributions and voices of all individuals and groups marginalized as well as empowered by their gendered identities, including those who identify as women and the LGBTQ+ community.
