Crispy Fried Chicken One more late summer delicious meal before schools start
INGREDIENTS • • • • • •
4 cups all-purpose flour, divided 2 tablespoons garlic salt 1 tablespoon paprika 3 teaspoons pepper, divided 2.5 teaspoons poultry seasoning 2 large eggs

1,5 cups water 1 teaspoon salt 2 broiler/fryer chickens (about 1.5 kilos each), cut up Oil for deep-fat frying
METHOD

In a large shallow dish, combine 2.75 cups flour, garlic salt, paprika, 2.5 teaspoons pepper and teaspoons poultry seasoning. In another shallow dish, beat eggs and 1.5 cups water; add 1 teaspoon salt and the remaining 1.5 cup flour and 1/2 teaspoon pepper. Dip chicken in egg mixture, then place in flour mixture, a few pieces at a time. Turn to coat.

In a deep-fat fryer, heat oil to 375°. Working in batches, fry chicken, several pieces at a time, until skin is golden brown and a thermometer inserted into chicken reads 165°, about 7-8 minutes on each side. Drain on paper towels.

The Real Health Benefits of the Japanese Bath There is growing evidence that the custom of daily bathing in hot water is part of what makes the Japanese one of the healthiest and longestlived populations in the world. Showering does not count. The Relaxing, Health-Giving Properties of a Hot Bath involves immersing the whole body in a tub of hot water. Bathrooms in Japanese homes are kept totally separate from the lavatory, they contain a bathtub deep enough to immerse the whole body. The T6 Method for losing weight but maintaining your overall health. During summer, the holidays arrive and the excesses that often bring with them a few extra kilos that are difficult to get rid of. ARE WE REALLY THE MOST STUPID LIVING CREATURES? Some people are saying that governments are controlling the weather and causing some of the notable disasters that we are experiencing. I think that governments are more concerned in waging wars and killing people to impose their will on other nations and even other religions. While they keep their heads buried under the sand, nature is now protecting itself and even threatening to wipe out the human race unless measures are seriously taken to stop the oncoming disaster. We are all aware of this, hence the reason why the birth rate has dropped in recent years. Why make our children suffer what is likely to happen?
The vast amount of data and new technologies confirm what the draft pointed out: climate change is accelerating and is a consequence of human activity. The most worrying data refer to the non-reversible effects that climate change is producing today. According to the estimates of the new IPCC report, we will exceed 1.5 degrees in 2040. The only solution is to drastically reduce emissions. If, on the contrary, the trend in greenhouse gas emissions continues before 2050, we will see the Arctic without ice.
The latest report from the United Nations, the most accurate to date, indicates that warming of 1.5 degrees will come earlier than expected.

MY OPINION Unfortunately, climate change is already affecting our planet, and the changes that have occurred so far will continue for hundreds or even thousands of years. The scientists predict dire consequences for people if the trend does not change radically. Some of these events are already happening today, the report states:
Sea level has risen threefold in recent years compared to rises in 1901 and 1971. The last five years have been the hottest since 1850. Heat waves are much more frequent while cold waves have decreased. Mountain ice and ice caps will continue to melt. The ocean is getting warmer and acidifying. A process that will not stop in the following decades. Many coastal areas will be flooded as a result of the rise in the sea, up to five meters in the most negative forecasts. Health studies also ensure that global warming will shorten our lives in the coming years.

We are fast reaching the point of no return, NOW is the last chance we have to fulfil the Paris agreement and stop temperatures exceeding the 1.5C limit. According to scientists emissions will have to be cut in half by 2030 to stabilize the situation and the total disappearance of greenhouse gas emissions would have to occur in 2050 so that the planet does not warm above the current level. What are we waiting for? Let’s start with the total worldwide abolition of coal plants and fossil fuel exploration and development.

COCKROACH MILK? ARE THEY KIDDING? In 2016, an international team of scientists from the Institute of Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine in India, extracted a protein crystal found in the gut of cockroaches.
Because they discovered that this is four times more nutritious than cow's milk, they do not rule out that it could be used to feed our growing population in the future. The majority of these insects do not actually produce milk, escept for the cypress cockroach or Pacific cockroach (Diploptera punctate), the only one of its kind that gives birth to live offspring and secretes a type of "milk" that contains protein crystals to feed its babies.

This was explained by Sanchari Banerjee, one of the co-authors of the research, in a 2016 report with the Times of India: Crystals are like a complete food: they have proteins, fats and sugars. If you look at the protein sequences, they have all the essential amino acids. Perhaps not suitable for weight watchers but it could work very well for those struggling to get a sufficient amount of calories per day.
What fascinates scientists is the fact that these protein crystals possess more than three times the calories found in an equivalent amount of buffalo milk (higher in calories than cow's milk).
Now that scientists have the sequence, they hope to obtain the yeast to produce the crystals in much larger quantities, which is more effective and less disgusting than "milking cockroaches".
As milking a cockroach would be rather difficult, the scientists decided to evaluate the possibility of replicating the substance in the laboratory.
Who needs other supplements when cockroach milk contains so many nutrients? No-one while there is a choice!

DON JUAN TENORIO PERSONAJE UNIVERSAL
Juan Emilio Ríos Vera Nunca una obra basada en una anterior superó tanto la fama de aquélla como en el caso del Don Juan Tenorio de Zorrilla que versionó El burlador de Sevilla y convidado de piedra de Tirso de Molina, introduciéndole una serie de novedades y de cambio de perspectiva que, a la postre, son las claves donde radica su éxito y la razón por la que la “secuela” sea mucho más famosa e influyente que la obra original de la que nace. Zorrilla consigue convertir a Don Juan Tenorio en un personaje universal como serían el caso de Don Quijote o Carmen, algo que Tirso de Molina no podía ni pensar cuando escribe su “burlador de Sevilla” pero sería totalmente injusto no decir que la raíz de la grandeza del personaje está ya en la obra de Tirso, que es el verdadero artífice del personaje que ha trascendido fronteras y se ha hecho patrimonio de la Humanidad. Pero analicemos cuales son las novedades que introduce Zorrilla para aumentar la repercusión de su obra: En primer lugar, la mayor relevancia que adquiere la figura de don Luis Mejía, antagonista de don Juan. Doña Inés es otra de las claves de la obra de Zorrilla ya que aporta un personaje femenino descomunal y con una gran fuerza dentro del devenir de los hechos. En la obra de Tirso no hay un protagonista femenino que equilibre la tensión del drama y sirva de contrapeso a la enorme profundidad de la figura del don Juan, que no teme a nada ni a nadie y que se siente tan seguro de sí mismo que no necesita a nadie en quien apoyarse ni siquiera en el amor del que dice no ser esclavo, sino que se burla de él y lo vence. 44

Los desenlaces de las dos obras son diametralmente opuestos ya que en la obra de Tirso don Juan termina muriendo de una forma terrible que le sirve de escarmiento y de enseñanza moral para todos los lectores que ven como la arrogancia y la temeridad del personaje es castigada, pero en la versión de Zorrilla el protagonista, en un final muy al gusto de los románticos, es perdonado gracias al amor que sí demuestra en esta ocasión hacia doña Inés y que hace conmover a Dios o al destino para obtener otra nueva oportunidad para rehacer su vida y disfrutar de un amor verdadero que le dé un sentido a su azarosa existencia. En definitiva, que la razón de que Don Juan haya transcendido hasta convertirse en un personaje universal a la altura de don Quijote o Romeo y Julieta es, mérito tanto de Zorrilla, como de su legítimo creador Tirso de Molina. Al César lo que es del César.

“El caftán es muy fácil de crear con dos costuras a los lados, un dobladillo y una apertura para el cuello. Realmente es imposible hacerlo mal, ¡y coserlo resulta divertido para todos!”, comenta Zandra.
En una rueda de prensa que Ikea ha ofrecido junto a ella, ha explicado que “es el tipo de colección de la que llevándote sólo un artículo puedes darle un toque fresco a tu vida o puedes llevarte varios y transformarlo todo”. Pero aún así ha animado a todos a jugar con sus diseños, “las cosas de mi vida y de mi casa no tienen por qué combinar. La mejor combinación es la ausencia de esta.” Ella tiene estanterías de Ikea en su casa pintadas de azul y amarillo y no puede esperar a colocar todas las piezas de la colección en su casa. “Quiero poner todos los cojines en mi sofá, como si fuera un arcoíris y todas las cajas en mi dormitorio”.

PLASTICS ARE POTENTIALLY TOXIC A study has classified 24% of the substances present in plastics as potentially harmful to health
These substances were mainly in packaging, textiles, toys and materials in contact with food and almost 25% were classified as potentially of concern because they are very stable substances that do not break down easily and could accumulate in the body. What is more striking is that 53% of them are not under strict regulation, and that 901 of these chemicals are approved for the manufacture of plastics that are in contact with food. These substances can be harmful to the health of consumers and workers, and to life in contaminated ecosystems, especially considering that humans and other living beings ingest large amounts of micro plastics.
Recently a team of researchers from the Federal Polytechnic School of Zurich led by Stefanie Hellweg has created a database with all the chemical substances that make up plastics and classifies them according to their use and their danger. More than 350 million tons of plastic are produced each year, and a quarter of the substances in plastics are toxic or accumulate in the body, around 10,500 chemicals were identified.

This study has warned that the number of potentially dangerous substances is unexpectedly high. During the study, more than 4,000 of these substances could not be classified due to lack of information. Scientists insist on the importance of transparency about the data of these chemicals to achieve a plastic that can be recycled and is sustainable.
