What are the top wedding themes for 2020?

- Eco-conscious weddings, - couples will be looking for British suppliers with good eco credentials as millennial couples sustainable values come to the fore

- Statement florals - floral design is getting bigger and better as we move into 2020 with ceremony, marquee and venue inst allat ions becoming a more regular feature in wedding design

- Indoor/Outdoor - nature will play a big role in 2002 wedding design, influenced by the eco movement

Which 2019 themes do you think will carry over into 2020?

The grazing trend is going nowhere, but it's going to grow up in 2020 moving from separate grazing tables to be incorporated fully into the reception table design as a relaxed alternative to formal catering.

Are there any themes couples are staying away from in 2020?

Vintage, rustic, ikat, glamour, industrial trends are all moving aside

What are the biggest themes in the luxury market?

Destination weddings are still huge, whether it's a luxurious elopement or intimate wedding or huge celebration of family and friends, those with higher budgets will be looking at high per-head spend as they create incredible experiences for their guests from beginning to end. I think we'll see a move towards more exotic and hidden dest inat ions, in keeping wit h millennial couples t ravel experiences, such as Bali, Mexico and unexpect ed locat ions like Norway.

You can never go wrong with pale Blush, Ivory and Champagne tones. The softness of this theme is timeless and provides such a beautiful romantic setting for the day. The only slight difference for this theme in 2020 is the reduced amount of metallic gold we have seen previously making way for more natural elements like timber to make a come back.

We will see tropical touches of palm leaves and patterns carry over into 2020. Potted plants, succulents, and nature-inspired elements are also here to stay and will become even more popular t his year.

2019 showcased the popular outdoor garden-inspired weddings as well as luxury tropical weddings. We will be seeing more of these themes in 2020, as well as an increase in people having their ceremonies in the round. The vintage theme will be used as a secondary theme in many weddings as well.

While people want a new look in 2020, they will still continue to use themes such as vintage, boho, and rustic as underlying themes in their weddings. Lots of these concepts are evolving and offer decor and rental companies the opportunity to refurbish or simply restyle t heir current pieces.

Rustic. Gone are the days of rustic, hessian, festoon lighting, moody jewel tones and hay bales. Instead couples are looking for a more elegant design paired with the relaxed setting of their chosen venue/ location. Getting the best of both worlds of fine- dining and t he classic relaxed Aust ralian lifestyle.
