70 years on
As we go to press, the excitement is mounting about a four-day weekend including Bank Holidays on Thursday 2 and Friday 3 June to celebrate the Platinum anniversary of the accession of HMQ Elizabeth II. We will probably need the rest of June to recover from all the fun on offer! The actual date of this achievement of service and longevity was back on 6 February but these celebrations have been planned for early June in the hope of better weather. Thursday 2 June Halton Village celebrations start at 1.30pm in Halton Tennis Club, see page 2 for details. Wendover Parish Council invites us to bring a picnic and join other residents from 3pm to 6pm on the Witchell Field, HP22 6EG, near the Cricket Pavilion. Live music will be provided by Ellis Green. See also Matters Arising on page 24.
