Club Corner Wendover Football Club

On Easter Monday, the annual competition for the Oving Cup took place, and Wendover FC beat Wingrave FC to take the Cup! (team photo by Derek Pelling, Aylesbury & District News) The competition has been held since the late 19th century and records are complete except for 1912, when Wendover beat Waddesdon but the score is unknown. BBOWT summer events

College Lake has Nature Tots sessions on 7 and 9 June - with bookable slots at 10.15 and 10.30am. On 13 June there is a Wildlife Garden open day with slots from 10.30am and family fun after the garden visits. The annual orchid count at Aston Clinton Ragpits is on Sat 18 June at 10am and on Sun 19 June at Dancersend there is a guided walk with the Warden at 10.00am to show how plans for spending the Rothschild grant are developing.

The Girls Section caters for 9 to 12 year olds, running ECB Dynamos-style sessions on Sunday mornings and separate hardball training on Fridays; new recruits are welcome. The new ground development progress continues to frustrate; despite planning permission being given on 25 April, one of the key conditions with programme implications is to carry out archaeology investigations and we were set to start this in early April. But HS2 then decided this was the moment to insist that no further surveys or intrusive works could take place without a licence and 6 weeks later, we are still waiting for the licence. Consequently it is now certain we will be without a main ground for a second season and we are indebted to 4 local clubs who
