Design culture has to change through reimagining the architecture studio space. Flexibility of the spaces to accommodate different needs is the key. The combination of one graduate, one undergraduate and one landscape studio in a shared studio space with foldable dividers is proposed. When class is in session, the dividers will be there, and once class has ended, it could be folded and put back. This will inspire students to engage with each other’s work when class is not in session, since we all spend a lot of time in studio, and this is how we get close to our studio mates.
Spaces outside studio is crucial to serve as meeting points for student to work on their projects to encourage interaction and induce informal participants while ensuring social distancing. The North and South area and vertical capacity is realized with potential expansion for additional conducive workspace.
