STAIRS Mirroring the existing language of Gould, the new set of stairs in the new addition will connect inter-floors.

GLAZED ELEVATOR Transparency and connectivity across all floors from the lowest to the top, connecting the old and new.

Establishing a new main entrance that brings in the new influx of visitor, giving a formal sense to Gould as a deisgn school for the built environments.

Converting the studio space into an extended cafeteria to provide space for students and faculty to connect in between classes.

Removing all the partitions in the adminsitration space, this space will be converted into an open studio space that have the flexibilty to adapt to different configurations

NEW STAIRS

Moving Digital Commons from the basement to top, this floor will serve as the a large computer lab that will serve as classroom to accomodate the needs.

STAIR SEATING

At the East side of the new digital commons, large stair seating will be introduced to provide a place for relaxation while connecting to the upper floors.

The new CBE Library is envisioned to be a new gathering hub for students to not only a place for intelectual endeavors, but also place to do work.

CBE LIBRARY NEW STAIRS

The extention towards south o the CBE Library will provide more square footage for students. The individual labs in the library will also be accomodating needs of different design students. Non structural walls are removed to have an open space.

The stair seating will connect the CBE Library and the digital commons from the street level all the way to the 4th level.


PHASE II - ADAPTIVE REUSE EXTENSION

STRATEGIES REMOVE SKYLIGHT

The removed skylight will serve as a guideline to organize the roof terrace programs. The sairs locating at the four courners will continue to extend up for roof access.

Flecible in three ways: conventional benches, circular seating for gathering, and irregular seat-shaped

Two designated spot at the East and West side of the corner is for Design Build. When class is not in session, this place can be a place for outdoor exhibits or temporary exhibition.
