Wesleyan Families, Welcome to the 2024 Wesleyan Christian Academy Summer Camp Brochure! This year we’ve expanded our summer camp offerings as we work to provide great camps for everyone! As always, Wesleyan’s Summer Day Camp promises another 8 weeks of PURE FUN for our younger campers in 2024 starting June 3. You’ll also find three new academic camps in this year’s camp listings! Nurse Shannon Moore will teach a Red-Cross-Certified Babysitter’s Basics Camp, three of our high school teachers will lead CAB: College Application Boot Camp for rising seniors, and Mr. Bradley has added new STEM Camps this summer! In our athletic camps, you’ll find a new Running Camp for 1st through 8th graders and we’ve added our Softball Development Camp back to the schedule in 2024. Summer is the perfect time to continue developing skills or to learn a new one. Join us this year for another great summer at Wesleyan! WEEK 1: Lost in Space Embark on an intergalactic adventure with our ‘Lost in Space’ themed summer camp week! This cosmic journey is designed for young explorers, ages rising TK to rising 5th graders, who are ready to defy gravity and discover the wonders of the universe our God has created. Throughout the week, campers will engage in a variety of out-of-this-world activities that blend science, creativity, and teamwork. • Rocket Building Workshop • Space-Themed Arts and Crafts • Galactic-Games and Challenges

WEEK 2: Welcome to the Jungle Join the wild journey during ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ week at camp. Young adventurers will discover the untamed wonders of nature, engage in thrilling jungle-themed activities, and unleash their inner explorer. From jungle crafts to wildlife scavenger hunts, this week promises an immersive experience where kids understand the beauty of nature and what God’s hands have made. • Animal Mask Making • Visit to the North Carolina Zoo • Wildlife Scavenger Hunt

WEEK 3: We are the Champions Step into the spotlight during ‘We are the Champions’ week at camp! This exhilarating week is packed with activities that celebrate teamwork, skill-building, and individual achievements. From team challenges that promote friendship to individual victories that boost confidence, this week is all about cheering each other on. WEEK 4: Surfin’ in the USA Dive into the thrilling waves of excitement during ‘Surfin’ in the USA’ week at camp. This sun-soaked adventure is all about catching the surfing spirit and riding the waves of fun. This week promises a blend of coastal-inspired activities, beach/water games, and a celebration of coastal life—on top of celebrating Independence Day a week early! • Surfboard Decorating • Seashell Jewelry Making • Surfing Basics Workshop

WEEK 5: Around the World Pack your bags and join us for an unforgettable journey during ‘Around the World’ at camp! This week-long adventure is a global exploration of cultures, traditions, and the wonders of our diverse planet. Each day will bring new activities inspired by far-off lands, encouraging curiosity. WEEK 6: Magical Kingdom Hop on the Disney Express for a magical adventure like no other during “Magical Kingdom” week. This enchanting week is a journey into the realm of beloved Disney Characters, fairy tales, and whimsical wonders. From Disney crafts to sing-alongs, campers will be immersed in the magic of their favorite Disney tales. With each day promising a new adventure, kids will explore the fantastical world of princesses, princes, and talking animals. WEEK 7: Holiday Week Come join us for our festive ‘Holiday Week’ at camp. From merry crafts to spirited games, each day is filled with magic and joy of the holidays. Campers will be on a joyful journey through all the seasonal celebrations, including Valentine’s, St. Patrick’s, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day. CAB: College Application Boot Camp

CS Bootcamp / VEX Robotics Camp

Rising seniors have the opportunity to get a head start on the college application process and be ready to submit applications in the fall by the early action deadlines. CAB meets for 3 half-day sessions. Students will have the opportunity to get started on the Common Application or an individual college application, begin the RDS (Residency Determination Service) document, college essays, polish their resume, financial aid/ scholarships and interview practice. LIMITED OPENINGS! Cost: $225

CS Bootcamp (9 am - 12 pm) Embark on an immersive learning adventure at our Computer Science Bootcamp! This camp offers hands-on exploration of coding, software development, and artificial intelligence. Students will engage in real-world projects, collaborative problem-solving, and game creation. Join us for an unforgettable experience where innovation and education converge, propelling students into the dynamic world of computer science.

Babysitter’s Basics (American Red Cross-Certified) This American Red Cross in-person child care certification course will prepare students to be better babysitters. Topics include:

Basic First Aid How to care for infants and children What to do in an emergency and how to stay safe Choosing activities that are age appropriate Recognizing, understanding and handling certain behaviors Starting your babysitting business

The Babysitting Basics course ends with a final exam. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a printable certificate that they can share with potential employers and their own first aid kit to take to future babysitting jobs. Cost: $145

VEX Robotics (1 pm - 4 pm) VEX Robotics camp provides an exciting journey into the world of robotics, where innovation meets hands-on learning. Participants will delve into the principles of robot design, programming, and problem-solving, gaining practical skills that extend beyond the camp setting. Students will have the opportunity to build and program robots, fostering creativity and critical thinking. Through interactive challenges and team projects, the camp aims to ignite a passion for robotics and inspire the next generation of engineers and innovators. 3D Design / Drone Discovery Camp 3D Design (9 am - 12 pm) Step into the realm of creativity and innovation at our 3D Design camp! This camp is a captivating exploration of the world of three-dimensional design. Participants will learn the fundamentals of 3D modeling using industry-standard software, bringing their ideas to life in a virtual space. Guided by skilled instructors, students will embark on hands-on projects, from designing prototypes to creating immersive virtual environments. The camp not only equips students with essential design skills but also nurtures their ability to think spatially and conceptually. Drone Discovery (1 pm - 4 pm) Launch on a thrilling journey into the skies at our Drone Discovery camp! This camp introduces the fascinating world of drone technology. Students will learn the basics of drone operation, aerial photography, aviation, and programming, guided by a licensed instructor. Through hands-on activities, participants will have the opportunity to navigate drones and earn their FAA TRUST certificate. The camp not only imparts technical skills but also fosters an understanding of the applications of drone technology in various fields.

Developmental Tennis Camp

Camp for ages 5 -13 presents an opportunity to learn about a variety of sports. Transportation provided to and from off-campus activities. Campers must bring water bottle, lunch, swimsuit and towel each day of camp. Monday: Soccer, Special Activity, Swimming, Football Tuesday: Putt-Putt, Special Activity, Swimming, Bowling Wednesday: Basketball, Special Activity, Swimming, Baseball/Softball Thursday: Putt-Putt, Special Activity, Swimming, Bowling Friday: Roller Skating, Special Activity, Swimming, Festival/Awards Cost: $175

Developmental tennis camp for grades 1 – 8 & beginner middle school players. Campers are encouraged to bring their own racket.

Developmental Soccer Camp The Wesleyan Christian Academy Soccer Camp is for players ages 5-12. This camp provides an opportunity for older Wesleyan Christian Academy soccer players to give back to the game by serving younger players. Cost: $120

Advanced Soccer School The Wesleyan Christian Academy Soccer School provides an inexpensive opportunity for players ages 13-18 to get exposure to professional coaches and play some of the best soccer competition in the area. The Soccer School will take place on the Wesleyan Christian Academy game field. This camp is strongly encouraged for players who wish to try out for the Wesleyan Christian Academy Varsity, Junior Varsity & Middle School Soccer

Middle School & High School Tennis Camp Tennis camp for grades 7-12 (beginners should attend Developmental Tennis Camp above). Campers should bring their own racket. Cost: $120

Live Well, Be Fit Youth Camp This half-day camp will have kids experience the goodness and joy of a life of healthy habits, choices and activities. Campers will talk about self-care and stewardship, nutrition, have healthy snacks, and participate in various fun fitness activities such as swimming, basic weight training, fitness games, trail running and hiking. Camp geared for students entering 2nd – 7th grade. Cost: $120

This camp is for any elementary student who wishes to learn the fundamentals of running (including stretching, warm-ups, technique, etc.) and for those who want to learn the foundations of distance running. When fall arrives, you’ll be ready to participate in the GoFar Running Program! Camp will be held at the WCA Sandy Ridge Campus. Cost: $80
