Our first edition came out in January 2010 and I had no idea that over three years later the little pocket sized magazines would still be so popular and going strong.

Westbourne Hosts Family Adventure Festival Roadshow Brand new for 2013, the Family Adventure Festival is an event for Bournemouth and promises a great weekend of excitement at the end of the school holidays. The BH Live Adventure Hub will take place at the BIC from Friday 31st May to Sunday 2nd June 2013 between 10am - 6pm, with numerous activities also taking place on the beautiful, award winning beach.

On Thursday 30th May, Westbourne will host the Adventure Festival Roadshow, featuring activities with DJ Allan Turner-Ward at The Westbourne, a photography competition at Number 83, storytelling at Westbourne Library, a Creative Contest at Lollipops Play Cafe and the chance to meet elite Olympians at Chocol8.

Also on Thursday 30th May at Alum Chine you can try Beach Soccer, in association with England Beach Soccer, featuring ex-Arsenal Player Terry Bowes and also lacrosse with English Lacrosse. Plus you can try Power Kiting with charity KiteRight, a land based taster sessions on training kites with qualified instructors. Hello Lollipops!

The popular play centre in Westbourne has underdone a major facelift and is now open as Lollipops Play Cafe.

The transformation has taken place with Carole Evernden at the helm and looks the part with colourful lollipops on the walls of the fun-filled space, once a church hall.

Carole told us more, “I am delighted to be developing the business in 2013 as Lollipops. We’ll be offering the fantasic established range of activities, classes and facilities and bringing some new additions too! Reflecting on Reflexology Explains All

Surprise! They say a change is as good as a rest, so I thought I would bend your ear to the benefits of another holistic therapy, Reflexology.

The premise is, that there are tiny reflex areas in the feet, and hands that link up with ten energy lines in the body which are related to all the major organs.

By massaging these reflexes, a stimulus travels up the energy line and through any organ lying in that pathway. The goal is to trigger the self healing mechanism within the body to rebalance and retune. It dates back some 5000 years and like most ancient therapies got lost in the passage of time. It was resurrected in the 1930â&#x20AC;&#x2122;s by an Ear, Nose and Throat surgeon- Dr William Fitzgerald- who discovered, that by tying ligatures around each finger, he could locally anaesthetize the head and face, which allowed him to do minor ENT surgery without drugs. Imagine that in the 1930â&#x20AC;&#x2122;s!

The Mother of Reflexology, Eunice Ingham, a physiotherapist and midwife who worked with Fitzgerald, pioneered the technique and it is her original method which has been the foundation for training today.

The extensive research into spinal cord injuries over the past twenty years has given this holistic therapy much credence and is widely accepted in the medical profession today.
