ASK AN EXPERT @kymmshairdesign

WITH KYMM

Q: Do I have to wash my hair every day?

A: No. Depending on the amount of product used for a style you may want to, but itʼs not necessary. People find their hair gets greasy fast if itʼs not washed everyday, but thatʼs your scalpʼs response to having the natural oils washed away with the shampoo. Using an alcohol free and sulphate-free shampoo, and a dry shampoo for the days in between will help with that. Q: Why should I use salon shampoos instead of drugstore shampoos? A: Salon shampoos are made with quality ingredients and limit the amount of sulphites, silicone, alcohol and water. Salon products recommended by your stylist are basically like prescription for your hair, by someone that knows your hair. Drugstore products are mass produced with inferior ingredients and not specific to your hair. Salon products use a higher concentration of products so you need less than what you'd use from the drugstore, so if you think youʼre saving money by buying a cheap drugstore brand, think again! Q: Will wearing an elastic in my hair break my hair? A: YES! Please if youʼre going to wear an elastic make sure its a hair elastic, and not super tight. Scrunchies are fantastic for keeping hair safe in a pony or bun! Q: I seem to be losing a lot of hair recently? A: We lose 75-150 hairs a day, depending on how thick our hair is. People with a lot of hair will lose more than people with fine/thin hair. Stress and hormones can cause hair to fall out, but it will grow back! If youʼre finding bald patches, that may be worth a trip to the Dr. Q: Should I use a heat spray protector every time I style my hair? A: YES! A leave-in conditioner and a heat protector every time you style your hair with a heat tool! These are temporary products that wash out so make sure you reapply every time!

Agatha Christie comes to Theatre in the Country

The first show of our 8th Season!

Agatha Christie’s

A luxury honeymoon cruise down the Nile sounds so romantic until the bride is murdered and everyone on board is a suspect. Set in the opulent pre-war 1930’s, the story, by history’s most famous murder writer, is a classic of the genre. As their ship winds its way down the fabled Egyptian river, the suspects grow more suspicious of each other and the trip becomes more harrowing. Who is the murderer? Who will be next? It’s a rogue’s gallery of characters from Bean Sellers to the less than grieving groom for amateur sleuth, Canon Pennefather to sort through and try to determine who has done the dastardly deed and why. Theatre in the Country is pleased to have assembled top notch thespians for this production. Director Simon Challenger is thrilled with his cast and crew, a number of whom are award winning performers who have trod the boards in community theatres all around the Fraser Valley. These veterans of our local stages will bring Christie’s unique and layered characters to life. “It’s a great script, with a fantastic cast, and we are beyond delighted that this will open our 8th season here at TIC”, says producer and Theatre in the Country’s Artistic Director, Reg Parks. “Christie is timeless, she wrote the book on murder, and people still love to see her work performed after almost 100 years”. Theatre in the Country is a dinner theatre; although Theatre Only tickets can also be purchased. It is the only full-time dinner theatre in the Lower Mainland, serving a delicious roast beef meal to its patrons each and every night that the shows are running. They also offer meals for a variety of dietary needs. TIC is a relative new comer to the community theatre family. It was started 8 years ago by Parks and his wife, Erin. The name came from the company’s original location in Whonnock, half way between Maple Ridge and Mission. “It was a great place to start”, says Parks, “We built a community, we learned from our mistakes and nothing brings you together like having your changing room outside for a Christmas show!” In 2018, Theatre in the Country found a new home in Langley. Working in partnership with Langley Vineyard church they have created a wonderful new venue at 5708 Glover Road. “We love being in Langley”, says Erin Parks, “It’s a fantastic community, with a growing passion for the arts, and a great location for us to grow as a theatre company.”
