Breaking Free From Useless Need For Approval Great many times we spend so much time in life looking for approval from others and this endless search for approval often is embedded deeply within ourselves.. We put our hopes in the false comfort that if we could get enough people to approve of us, then this ache within us that is always trying to figure out who we should be would finally go away. What is it that is taking place inside of us when there is a consistent longing for acceptance and approval? The root of the matter is that we are buying into the negative self talk that is forever telling us that we are not good enough as we are. We are buying into the self inflicted or learned idea that in order to be somebody we should define ourselves by what other people think of us. These beliefs into a false statement about ourselves deprive us of our vital energy, passion, and the ability to connect with our true authentic self. To stop these negative self talks from happening requires of us to work toward a new reality where we stop believing in all this negative self talk.
11
It is a matter of choice and we can make that choice! We can choose to practice awareness in recognizing when these thoughts are happening, and choosing to not buy into this form of selfabuse. In fact, this is the first and most important step: awareness! Take conscious effort and notice your thoughts and when they are happening. Take inventory when those negative self thoughts are being triggered and then shine the light of awareness upon them. Simply see those thoughts for what they are; fear based untruths that do not belong to you! Believe in yourself and move forward. To your success! Gabriela Eikeland, DN, CSMC, RT CRA "Stop worrying about what other people will think about you. The right people will be attracted to you - quirks and all" --C.Schulson

Spring 2013 Brides
Colour Craze
G
“From mint green to chartreuse, green is all over our wedding design boards in 2013,” the colour is being incorporated into a variety of wedding design details including linens, cocktails, flowers, cakes and stationery. Although mint green has been cited as 2013’s hot colour, a “sophisticated and radiant” emerald green, also poses well in any season—combine it with crisp white in the spring or charcoal grey in the winter.”

Spring 2013 is a combination of Feminine, Sophisticated and Fresh. There are lots of Salmon and Navy colours around this spring with three in one blushes that work with all skin tones. Definitely more lines with eye-defining navy, creating more of a maybe eyeliner look, combined with D I S C OV E R YO U R B E AU T Y hazey neutrals, that have an almost 60’s look. With Mint and Emerald Greens being the official 2013 colour its a perfect way to add a pop of color to your eyes. Start with a creme eyeshadow as a base and then add the green on the top to create an aluring emerald smokey-eye. 1/2x

Hair
G
Braids and Buns have been sweeping across Hollywood, it is no surpise that these dazzling coifs would carry over into weddings. Wether piled high in a ballerina bun or braided loosely in a feminine ďŹ shtail, this is one trend we can’t wait to see more of.
Rings
G
Move over single white diamond engagement ring, some new and spectacular betrothal baubles are in town. The latest tweaks on tradition include cool cuts, intricate settings, dazzlingly different tints and modern styles that forgo the solitaire altogether.
Inspiration & Elegance Spring 2013
Two-tiered halo settings, some using contrasting color in the surrounding stones or metal. More visually interesting than an expected, the round stone, the oval cut tweaks convention just enough to be modern, but looks perfectly stunning set as a solitaire, especially when used in a trendy east-west engagement ring setting. Classically elegant, an emeraldcut stone lends an engagement ring a subtle vintage air.

Men
~ Tungsten, Gold, Silver, Platinum, Titanium, Wood... and Patterned. Mixed metals are all the rage, its a combination of comfort, durability and a unique look that belongs to him. Although the Classic Gold is still very popular, because more men today are wearing their wedding rings all day every day rather than occasional jewelery, comfort and durability have become important elements.

Cakes and Deserts
In the Glass
G
In 2012, signature cocktails were king, but for 2013 beer will get its chance to bask in the spotlight. With craft breweries popping up on every corner, this traditionally ‘man’s drink’ has discovered its softer side in weddings.
Move over cupcake towers. Take a seat, candybuffet. One of the new trends for wedding sweets right now are dessert tables. Featuring an array of edibles, the dessert table is a fantastic idea for any kind of wedding. Assortments that feature french macarons, cupcakes, small cakes, cakettes or imperials will ensure that all of your guests’ sweeteeth are sated. Dessert tables are also alot of fun because of the amount of styling that goes into designing the table. A lot more props/garnishes can be used to streamline the design to perfectly compliment your wedding. Varying levels of pedestals, mixed and matched serving trays plus all of the accent pieces in between result in a table almost as beautiful as the bride herself!

Inspired by The Great Gatsby
G
Thanks to the Great Gatsby movie release this May, the old glamour of the Roaring Twenties will be a huge wedding trend. “The Art Deco opulence with a hint of Victorian flair will influence the bride of 2013.” The trend is taking root with brides ordering romantic flowers and cascading bouquets featuring Casa Blanca lilies, stephanotis, fragrant gardenias and cabbage roses. In decor’ event planners are seeing a marked increase in the demand for Prohibition-era cocktails, sequinned linens and gold flatware and glassware. “Think elegant, sophisticated garden party with lots of sparkle and glam.”
Catering
to be remembered
What’s on the Menu? Wedding menus that are inspired by local ingredients as well as the season will be huge for 2013. More and more couples are requesting hot dog and taco carts and tappa trays. For dessert we’ll continue to see cheesecakes and pie pops over the traditional wedding cake. The customisation trend is also serving up exotic wedding menus that pay tribute to a couple’s travel experiences and heritages. Often the menu has a honeymoon tiein, such as hand-made gelato for newlyweds who are honeymooning in Florence.

of the month A man and a woman who have never met before find themselves in the same sleeping carriage of a train. After the initial embarrassment, they both manage to get to sleep; the woman on the top bunk, the man on the lower. In the middle of the night the woman leans over and says, “I’m sorry to bother you but I’m awfully cold and I was wondering if you could possibly pass me another blanket.” The man leans out and, with a glint in his eye, says, “I’ve got a better idea... let’s pretend we’re married.” “Why not?” giggles the woman. “Good,” he replies. “Get your own blanket
