A letter from afar.
The enclosed arrived on a brisk west wind on September 1st, landed in our pasture and was found by my husband in the morning. It was still half inflated at the time. Our location is 40 miles north of Kamloops in a mountain valley known as Criss Creek (almost directly North of Savona). What you people won’t do to get your message out! Seriously, we thought you would find it interesting to hear how far the balloon went and thought we’d return it in case you want to send it off again. Presume it was part of the Gold River anniversary celebrations for which we send belated but best wishes. Your for uplifting, lighter-than-air thoughts Fern and Gerry Bergeron Comp. 15-2960 Tranquille Road Kamloops, BC V2B 8B6
Whats On Trivia 1. Who was the legendary Benedictine monk who invented champagne? 2. Name the largest fresh water lake in the world? 3. Where would you find the Sea of Tranquility? 4. What is someone who shoes horses called? 5. Who invented the rabies vaccination?

V of the month
A strong young man at the construction site was bragging that he could outdo anyone in a feat of strength. He made a special case of making fun of Morris, one of the older workmen. After several minutes, Morris had enough. “Why don’t you put your money where your mouth is?” he said. “I will bet a week’s wages that I can haul something in a wheelbarrow over to that building that you won’t be able to wheel back.” “You’re on, old man,” the braggart replied. “It’s a bet! Let’s see what you’ve got.” Morris reached out and grabbed the wheelbarrow by the handles, then, nodding to the young man, he said, “All right. Get in.”
