Welcome to Wheat Ridge Parks & Recreation
We are Rooted in Fun!
For 50 years, Wheat Ridge Parks and Recreation has been providing programs, experiences, and spaces that enhance the lives of people in our community. Kids have grown up playing in our parks and swimming at our pools, seniors have taken up new hobbies and explored Colorado on our trips, couples have tied the knot at our facilities, and countless people have incorporated our fitness classes into their daily routines. We love sharing these special moments with you, which is why we take fun seriously. We are committed to offering quality programs and events for you and your family to connect with people, parks and play in Wheat Ridge.
Our Mission
We are dedicated to serving our community by providing diverse programs, experiences and spaces that enhance quality of life.
2
Our Vision
To be the first choice and trusted source for connecting with nature, living healthy and having fun.
Our Values
• Teamwork/Collaboration • Inclusiveness • Creativity • Innovation • Passion • Fun!
Get To Know Our Team Beth June
Diamante Hornyak
Beth has worked on the City of Wheat Ridge Parks & Recreation team for 20 years and is currently the team’s Recreation Coordinator for therapeutic recreation and general programs. Beth loves providing a service to her community and is always offering a helping hand. In 2021 she received the President’s Award for her incredible work and dedication cohosting the Colorado Parks & Recreation (CPRA) award ceremony for the past 4 years! This summer Beth will be hard at work (and play) leading the summer Sun Camp program.
Meet Diamante! Diamante is a triple certified Lifeguard Instructor and Pool Manager, with over 10 years in the aquatic industry. Her first job ever was lifeguarding, and it stuck with her! Most days you can find her at the pool teaching lifeguards, greeting guests and in worst case scenarios responding to emergencies. Don’t be shy to say hi to Diamante at the Anderson and Rec Center pools this summer!
Brandon Altenburg
Meghan Stoltz
Meet Brandon, Wheat Ridge Parks & Recreation’s Grant and Special Projects Administrator! Brandon works on projects that help improve the community experience here in Wheat Ridge. In 2020, he secured more than $908,000 in revenues, discounts and supplies. These efforts led to improved playground facilities, greater trail access, enhanced outdoor health & wellness opportunities, emerald ash borer mitigation and more! This year Brandon was recognized as a National Recreation and Parks Association 30 Under 30 winner for 2022, which is presented annually by NRPA’s Young Professional Network and Parks & Recreation Magazine!
Join us in welcoming Meghan to the Wheat Ridge Parks & Recreation team! Her most recent work experience as the Assistant Director with Student Age Enrichment for Jeffco public elementary schools equipped her with amazing skills, and we are so excited to have her on our team as our Recreation Leader. She puts a spotlight on teamwork, integrity, good sportsmanship, accountability, and kids supporting kids through our programs. When she’s not working with the youth keeping them active and engaged, she loves watching the Cleveland Browns, attending Avalanche games and paddle boarding.

FLOOR HOCKEY
GOOOAL! Your child is about to experience some seriously sweaty fun! Floor hockey is a modified version of ice hockey played with balls instead of pucks, and of course without ice or skates. Players need to keep moving to avoid getting hit. Fun and easy, everyone gets a serious work out!
