Brad’s photography is more than just a collection of images it’s a heartfelt tribute to Pittsburgh. Whether it’s the sun rising over the skyline, a snow-covered Duquesne Incline, or a colorful reflection in a puddle after the rain, his work invites viewers to see the city through a fresh and captivating lens. His ability to highlight both the grandeur and the intimate details of Pittsburgh makes his work truly stand out.
for its beauty and architectural brilliance.
Growing up in Pittsburgh, Brad was always drawn to the arts. But it was the city’s dynamic urban landscapes and hidden gems that truly inspired him to pursue photography. Over the years, he honed his craft, blending classic techniques with modern sensibilities to develop a unique artistic style
One of the most striking aspects of Brad’s work is his aerial photography. As a Part 107 certified drone pilot, he captures perspectives of Pittsburgh that often go unnoticed from the ground His quadcopter allows him to showcase the city’s skyline, bridges, and neighborhoods in a way that brings a renewed appreciation for its beauty and architectural brilliance.
In addition to running his photography business, Brad works full-time at a financial firm Balancing these two careers requires strategic time management.
“I set specific hours for photography on weekends and during mornings or evenings It actually works out well since some of the best times to photograph Pittsburgh are at sunrise or sunset ” To optimize his shoots, Brad uses weatherpredicting tools to plan for ideal conditions. “If the sky is partly to mostly cloudy, I know I’ll get a vibrant backdrop for cityscapes A clear sky means I can focus on architectural details And after a rainstorm? That’s the perfect time for reflection shots in puddles”
Brad’s photography sessions are carefully planned to capture the best possible shots For early morning shoots, preparation starts the night before—charging drone batteries, checking SD cards, and reviewing weather conditions. He also considers seasonal changes, such as blooming flowers in the spring or fall foliage, to determine the best locations.
Dressing appropriately is key,” Brad adds. “Having hats, gloves, and boots ready can save a lot of time in the morning. If I’m shooting in the evening, I also have to check sports and concert schedules to ensure I’m flying the drone within FAA regulations. And of course, snacks and water are a must what starts as a quick 30-minute session can easily turn into a three-hour adventure!”
Guests enjoyed a serene, intimate setting with daily yoga, meditation, and QiGong sessions, alongside Art Workshops, Yoga & Sound Bath. The retreat emphasized self-care and personal growth, providing opportunities for reflection through journaling and relaxation. Delicious meals and peaceful accommodations complemented the healing journey, creating a perfect balance of nourishment and tranquility.
Founded by Erica McIlroy, Green Heiress Retreats continues to inspire holistic wellness, offering safe spaces for self-exploration and community connection. This Lunar New Year retreat was a testament to the power of holistic practices, leaving attendees refreshed and ready to embrace new beginnings.
SumaJewelryCo.is more than just a brand it’s a story of passion, creativity, and craftsmanship
Founded by Amelia Fawcett and her fiancé, Kenny, the brand emerged from their shared love for fine jewelry and a desire to create something unique. Kenny, with over a decade of experience in the industry, brings an unmatched expertise in fine jewelry, while Amelia infuses the brand with a fresh, modern approach to style. Together, they have built a space in Pittsburgh where selfexpression is celebrated through distinctive, high-quality pieces. “We wanted to offer something beyond the classic designs dominating the market, blending earthy, organic elements with a refined sense of glam.”
From custom engagement rings to reimagined heirlooms, every Suma piece tells a story and becomes a cherished part of someone’s journey. As the brand grows, so does its vision, constantly evolving while staying true to its commitment to artistry and authenticity
Building a brand in the jewelry industry comes with its own set of challenges, and for Suma Jewelry, standing out in a traditionally conventional market required persistence and confidence “We set out to create jewelry that feels personal and expressive,” Amelia explains “Balancing our creative vision with the practicalities of running a business pricing, inventory, marketing has been a learning experience that demands constant adaptability”
For aspiring entrepreneurs, Amelia emphasizes the importance of trusting your vision while remaining flexible. “It’s okay if things don’t go exactly as planned. Embrace the challenges, build a strong support system, and collaborate with other creatives. Above all, believein yourself evenwhenitfeelsimpossible”
Beyond jewelry, Amelia finds inspiration in the vibrant and welcoming spirit of Pittsburgh “What I love most about this city is how it feels both familiar and full of new experiences,” she says “There’s a real sense of community, and at the same time, endless opportunities to discover something new whether it’s a local shop, a hidden-gem restaurant, or a fellow creative who shares our passion”
Suma Jewelry is not just about creating beautiful pieces it’s about fostering a connection between jewelry and self-expression, and for Amelia and Kenny, Pittsburgh is the perfect place to bring their vision to life.

“This is the most personal record I’ve ever made,” multiGrammy-nominated singersongwriter Joan Osborne says about her ravishing new studio album, Nobody Owns You “These songs come from my feelings about people in my family, about people who I care about, and just what to do with this time that we have on the earth They come from a raw emotional place And I’m asking myself that question: What am I here for?“ The result is a masterful collection of twelve contemplative songs offering hope and solace, while exploring Osborne’s own unique journey from smalltown Kentucky to around the world.
Acclaimed vocalist and songwriter Joan Osborne has released a live, swinging blues rendition of Bob Dylan’s “Rainy Day Women #12 & 35 ” The track appears on her forthcoming album Dylanology Live, which comes out on April 25th via Womanly Hips Records. Osborne’s sultry performance of the classic features special guest Jackie Green on organ
The genesis of the cowritten album-opener, “I Should’ve Danced More,” was an appraisal, explains Osborne, whose multiplatinum debut, Relish, was released in 1995: “I turned 60 last year and was thinking about my life – what’s behind me and what’s ahead, and that line popped into my head It’s that feeling of ‘what would you tell your younger self ’
