ABERSOCH Golf Club
Welsh Golf Club of the Year 2018
North Wales is littered with fine golf courses and some of the most spectacular scenery in the whole of the United Kingdom. The region’s pleasant locations, facilities and greens combine to provide a fantastic choice for a golf break whilst you can also take in the fantastic views of some of the UK’s most breath-taking countryside. As well as the many outdoor pursuits which can be enjoyed in North Wales, the region offers visitors some of the best value green fees around. The area’s unspoiled golf courses at affordable prices encompass a variety of unique and testing challenges, from the gentle, rolling parkland courses to stunning mountain-backed links-style golf courses.
Some of the earliest golf courses in Wales can be found in the north, with many close to the Irish Sea meaning conditions can be challenging; with many golf courses set to the stunning backdrop of the surrounding mountains.
Located on the beautiful, Cambrian Coast in Snowdonia, North Wales, Abersoch Golf Club is much sought after and highly regarded as arguably, ‘the friendliest golf club in Wales’. A jewel on the Welsh Riviera, Abersoch is an exceptional golf course with stunning views.
With the spectacular backdrop of Snowdonia, the surroundings of the golf courses on the Cambrian Coast can really take your breath away.
The par 69 course measures just 5,847 yards from the championship tees but, despite its length, the unique blend of picturesque links and traditional parkland holes present a real challenge to all ages and abilities of golfer with an abundance of gorse, bunkers and water hazards.
From the wonderful array of golf courses that can be enjoyed in Wales, Your Golfer Magazine has selected one to be its Welsh Golf Club of the Year 2018. Abersoch Golf Club has gained this award as a result of the fantastic golf, scenery and society packages that the Club offers to visitors.
In particular, the links holes which hug the coastline and have been contoured over a century ago though huge, natural sand dunes call for the utmost in accuracy - the key to playing to handicap at Abersoch.
The signature 246 yard, par 3, 3rd hole features an elevated tee which boasts panoramic views of the coast and countryside. The tee shot requires an accurate drive downhill, carrying gorse and water to the gently sloping green which is with a strategically placed bunker the back to catch long approaches.
Whilst, the warm and friendly Abersoch clubhouse can be enjoyed by visitors and members alike. Whether enjoying drinks on the patio area or a bite to eat, the clubhouse’s attentive team will meet your every need.
"During the year the Club has plans to install a state of the art GCQuad simulator providing tuition, club fitting, practice, and courses for members and visitors to play. Societies will also be able to hold their nearest the pin and/or longest drive competitions all together in one room after the round."
