Located on the north-western side of Wales, Gwynedd is mostly located within the Snowdonia National Park with the Snowdonia mountain ranges and Cambrian coastline as the town’s magnificent backdrop. Gwynedd is home to many cultural and historical places to visit including the nearby harbour town of Porthmadog.

Situated on the Glaslyn Estuary, Porthmadog is rich in maritime history and an excellent base to exploring the surrounding area. The superbly-appointed Porthmadog golf course and clubhouse has everything for a great day out whether with family, friends or a golf society. Founded in 1905, Porthmadog was designed and created by legendary golf course architect, James Braid. Today, the site offers a beautiful and traditional links course which provides friendly hospitality and an enjoyable but challenging round of golf for all ages and abilities. The par 72 Porthmadog golf course stretches over 6, 326 yards from the championship tees. The front nine is predominantly set on a heathland layout whilst, the course’s back nine has more of a links style to it. Each loop of nine provides stunning views of the Cardigan Bay coast and the Snowdonia mountain range.

The excellent Porthmadog clubhouse building features a comfortable lounge, well-appointed bars and a spacious locker room. The large modern clubhouse is extremely family-orientated and extends a warm welcome to golfers and non-golfers alike. The par 72 Tenby golf course measures 6,528 yards as it stretches across beautifully manicured terrain with natural hazards calling for accuracy from the tees and excellent course management. Originally designed among its natural surroundings, the course was completed under the instruction of pioneering golf course designer, James Braid who helped the course attain its charming character that is enjoyed by so many today. At Tenby, you’re never far away from the dazzling vista of the sea. At the highest point of the golf course on the 17th hole, players are treated to sublime glimpses of the coastal waters and Caldey Island beyond.

With a great selection of fantastic play and stay deals and a number of rooms available on site, Tenby Golf Club is high on the agenda of the visiting golfer. A hidden gem with spectacular panoramic views

Located in the South West of Wales, Swansea is well known as a golfing destination among visiting groups and societies, offering a varied choice of wonderful golf courses combining the old and new, parkland and links. The miles of glorious, rugged coastline, white sandy beaches offer an exceptional venue for links golf whilst boasting rural charm inland, Swansea offers some of the most scenic golf course in the British Isles. Many visitors return to the fairways of Swansea year-after-year, taking on the old links and coastal layouts which represent great golf and great value.

Founded in 1924, Pontardawe Golf Club is situated in the upper Swansea Valley overlooking the quaint town of Pontardawe. A unique setting for golf, Pontardawe is located in one of the most scenic areas of South Wales and guarantees an enjoyable visit and a great day’s golf.

The current eighteen hole layout was completed in 1968 and, at 600 feet above sea level, the semi parkland golf course plays as a par 70. Measuring a modest 6,100 yards from the championship, white tees, the Pontardawe golf course represents an excellent challenge for all levels of golfer. The course’s impeccably manicured fairways are extremely well-presented and, in fact, play as well in the winter months as they do during the summer. The gentle inclines and undulations boast some of the most spectacular, panoramic views in Welsh golf. To the North, are the beautiful Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountain and to the South, the Swansea Valley, Swansea Bay, Mumbles Head and the Bristol Chanel can also be seen on a clear day.

Synonymous to the characteristics of Scottish links golf courses, Aberdovey Golf Club feature a golf course which retains the charm and character of its natural landscape, whilst presenting golfers of all standards an enjoyable yet stern test of their skills. The superbly-appointed Aberdovery golf course was originally designed by legendary golf course architect, Harry Vardon. Later, renowned golf course architects of the 20th Century, Colt, Braid and Fowler had a hand in shaping the way that the course at Aberdovey has evolved and looks today. Golf was first played at Aberdovery in Gwynedd in 1886 and today, Aberdovey is highly regarded as one of the finest golf courses in the whole of Wales. Situated at the mouth of the beautiful Dovey Estuary and nestled between the Cambrian Mountains and the coastal dunes of Aberdovey Beach, the club’s beautiful surroundings and warm welcome is extended to members and visitors alike.

Rebuilt in 1998, the large, modern clubhouse at Aberdovey Golf Club is a comfortable space to relax pre or post round and has the facilities to cater for larger groups as well as function and corporate days. Southerndown is a traditional private members club that boasts all the facilities you would expect to find at one of Wales finest championship courses. Southerndown Golf Club dates back to 1905 when it was originally known as the Ogmore Down Golfing Society. Set on an unusual limestone-heath which rises 70 feet above sea level and has become naturally sculpted by the in the Bridgend coastline, the golf course benefits from excellent drainage, which means that the golf course is playable all-year-round. The limestone, heathland setting provided the ideal canvas for Southerndown’s designers to express their ideas. Wellknown golf course architects, Willie Fernie, Herbert Fowler, Willie Park, Harry Colt and Donald Steel all played their part over the years in creating the Southerndown golf course which is enjoyed by so many today.

Offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere for visitors, the clubhouse building combines two spacious bar areas – perfect to relax pre or post round. The clubhouse’s well-appointed dining room provides light meals and snacks daily, as well catering for more formal dining occasions throughout the year.
