The Tap In

The 2023 Tokay Committee had its wrap-up meeting and wanted to share a recap with our members. Ninety teams played the three-day event with great weather and excellent course conditions.

The tournament was very successful on all fronts: food, beverage, format, gifts, entertainment, and staff service from all areas of the Club. The final profit/loss statement will be finalized at the next Finance Committee meeting. Early indicators show we managed our expenses within the revenue we brought in. Please give a BIG THANK YOU to all our players and especially our sponsors!

We would be remiss if we didn’t acknowledge that a scoring adjustment error took place and the team of Member Devon Delbrugge and Michael Toon had their scores altered as play finished based on some questions looked at by the committee and the pro staff. Based on the written tournament rules, their team should have been the net winners. Others got involved and it resulted in them not finishing in first place. We would like to publicly apologize for the embarrassment and awkward situation this created. Devon and his partner played well and played within the rules. We will work hard to make sure the tournament rules going forward will be made even more clear to prevent this type of situation in the future.

We are excited to execute an even better Tokay in 2024, our Centennial year.
