What do you do when you love your farm . . . but it doesn't love you? After fifteen years of farming, Catherine Friend is tired. After all, while shepherding is one of the oldest professions, it's not getting any easier. The number of sheep in America has fallen by 90 percent in the last ninety years. But just as Catherine thinks it's time to hang up her shepherd's crook, she discovers that sheep might be too valuable to give up. What ensues is a funny, thoughtful romp through the history of our woolly friends, why small farms are important, and how each one of us -- and the planet -- would benefit from being very sheepish, indeed.

Beautiful wool from my handspinners flock of Shetland Sheep! Over the past two years I've tucked away the best handspinning fleeces from my flock for my own use. You see where this is going, right? Out of 18 fleeces, I've spun one and a half. Save me from myself. Buy these fleeces! Each fleece is hand skirted, but I do not coat my sheep. So they're dirty and they still have some vm. If you're willing to put a little work into cleaning them up, I'll make you a smoking good deal on gorgeous shetland wool. Each fleece is divided up into 2lb, 1lb, and 8oz bags. You can mix and match an get all the colors in manageable amounts. 2lbs ~ $16 1lb ~ $8 8oz ~ $4
