Do you work with investors and landlords? We work with private as well as commercial clients, investors and landlords. All projects enjoy the same care and attention to detail whether the client is the end user or the commission is for a more speculative market. Rebecca Jones: Director Tell us a little about the background of your firm? PWJ Architects Ltd is a Chartered Architectural Practice established in 2000, based in Cranleigh in Surrey undertaking projects throughout the south east. As a female owned and operated architectural practice, we bring a unique perspective to our designs, merging creativity with a deep commitment to diversity, sustainability, and client-centric solutions. As a design team we take a pragmatic and personal approach to every project listening attentively to our clients, collaborating closely with local contractors and our network of contacts to deliver solutions that exceed expectations, all while respecting budgets and timelines. What type of projects have you been working on recently? We have a diverse portfolio of commercial and high end residential projects of all typologies – whole house refurbishments and remodelling, extensions, one-off new houses, Listed Buildings and contemporary design, conversions and multi-unit development schemes. We take a classic contemporary approach to design whilst ensuring that a house remains first and foremost a home -
Looking back, there a job that you are most proud of? The projects that we are most proud of are those where everything comes together and we can see the initial concept sketches come to fruition on site to create beautiful spaces to live and work in. We love to work collaboratively with our clients and contractors, valuing their input, so our passion for design is reflected in the reality of the completed home right down to the smallest detail. We have recently revisited some of our completed projects to chat with our clients after they have been living in the house for several years. It has been wonderful to hear that they remain delighted with their homes and to hear that they would change nothing in the design. That is why we love our work! Are you happy to give appraisals to Hamptons clients before they exchange? We often meet with clients to discuss potential houses, chatting through with them options, possibilities and ways we can tailor the house to their requirements. We bring a vision and unique ability to read into a property to not only achieve a clients brief but to achieve more than envisaged as well as helping them navigate the planning system, Building Control and contractors ensuring a smooth journey for our clients.
