The Workhouse Arts Center is a nonprofit arts center built in the historic setting of a former DC Prison. The Workhouse opened to the public in 2008 and is now home to over 100 artists, 65 working studios, 9 galleries, classroom spaces, the Workhouse Prison Museum, state-of-the-art glass and ceramic facilities as well as a 100-seat theater. The holiday exhibition, 100 Under 200 will be on display in the McGuireWoods Gallery through January 5. The show features artwork created by all 100 Artists at the Workhouse, priced under $200. Inspiration The Workhouse Arts Center is pleased to offer need-based scholarships for students of all ages. A donation to the Workhouse Arts Center Education Scholarship Fund opens the door for disadvantaged students to receive fundamental art education in a creative an historical environment.
