The Workhouse Arts Center is a nonprofit arts center built in the historic setting of a former DC Prison. The Workhouse opened to the public in 2008 and is now home to over 100 artists, 65 working studios, 9 galleries, classroom spaces, the Workhouse Prison Museum, state-of-the-art glass and ceramic facilities as well as a 100-seat theater.
