Lisa-Marie Bumb & Timo Hecht As long as we have been a couple, Lisa and I have been taking pictures together. Inspiring ourselves along the way and pushing ourselves over each others photographic boundaries. While Lisa produces more of the dreamy feminine photography with her own style, I would rather say I am the realistic colorful photographer. Our different styles are what we think makes working with us, as a team, a special experience. Like everyone else, of course, we enjoy traveling and never leave the house without at least one Camera. Our home base and our studios are located in Mannheim, Germany, where most of our images are produced. The picture series shown here was shot near Zaandvort, Holland. A little four day road trip which for us was a combination of vacation and work we did for a little clothing shop in Mannheim. It also was the trip on which we got engaged.

Our goals for the future are to continue working on our photography and enjoying life along the way. Combining our work life with traveling, and capturing images of people and places around the globe as our little family hopefully soon grows. laina Hill is a 16 year old high school senior who is a member of the Highland dance team, sings in the Advanced Choir and volunteers at the children’s department at her church – Ridgeview Christian Center. She is student leader and actively participates in the youth group. She has participated in four local fashion shows where she designed outfits in all four of them and modeled in three of them. She also interned at Nordstroms in the Brass Plum department on the fashion board.

progressed in the shows they started with a softer younger feel and then went to an edgier older feel. I love to take an unconventional item and match it with a theme and do a spin off I also love to recreate old and out of date items to make them new and improved My designs are about being true to myself. It’s about being feminine with an edgy but modest twist.

How did you get started in fashion design?

Forever 21 H&M I also love to go to yard sales and thrift stores and update the items I get

When I was 10 I taught myself to sew on a 6 inch tall paper embellishment sewing machine. With all my Christmas money that next winter I bought my first sewing machine. My first project ever was a t-shirt pillow. As time went on and I got a little bit older I picked up on more ideas and more skills. It wasn’t till my 8th grade year when I started sewing and designing clothing. That year my Grandpa lost his battle with cancer. I was given his sewing machine. That machine was my first real machine. That was when I finally understood why my family always pushed me to my best in life. I now realize life is short and we must take advantage of every opportunity offered to us.

What are your inspirations for your designs? I love to make a bold statement. There are three main things I do when I design: I ask myself many questions like what am I trying to say with this piece? In the last show I did my own spin off of The Queen of Hearts. In the runway show as my designs

Which fashion brands are you most fond of?

Do you intend to pursue a career in fashion design? I graduate next year and after that I plan on going to an art college. I want to major in Art Education with a minor in fashion design. One day I hope to open a children’s art center for low income families and teach kids like myself the amazing potential everyone has.

Where do you see yourself five years from now as it relates to your passion for fashion? My dream is to open a children’s art center. Connected to the art center I would like to have a boutique where we will sell repurposed clothing. I will take out of date clothing and repurpose them into new and in style items.

by Angelana Maria Danielle Perez Sky High Slits In spite of all the bundling we witnessed this last season, the pendulum has swung heavily towards sexy. J. Mendel, Christopher Kane, Burberry Prorsum’s Christopher Bailey, and Versace accomplished that with fiercely sharp thigh-high slits. These eye catching pieces were often paired with a pullover or button down for the perfect style contrast that easily transitions to evening attire for the modern woman on the go.

On the Fringe Ode to the hippies at heart! Many designers agreed that there’s no shame in the shimmy. Certainly music festival season wouldn’t be the same without this retro favorite for the workaholics that are awaiting this season to revel in the sun. Movement in your threads is wildly welcomed!

La Boheme Moderne Simultaneously dimensional and functional, built from flowing layered tunics, silky burnished tones and low maintenance pieces to beat the heat, as Milly showcased in the 2015 resort collection, this stands the test of timeless summer ease and elegance. Maria Cornejo’s collection was a fantastic example of minimalism with a bohemian foundation as well as Maiyet, Haider Ackermann and Dior to name merely a few.

Psychedelics Sophisticated psychedelics have gracefully married the chic and the carefree into one luxurious look. Gucci was especially fond of this in the latest campaign. Ferretti, Osman and Richard Chai Love’s women’s collections weren’t the only ones feeling inspired but men’s wear collections too!

The perfect getaway I love to travel…but who doesn’t? There are seven continents – can you name all of them? Hmmm… let’s see, if you have played the board game RISK you will be very familiar with all seven, namely -- Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Europe, Australia, and Antarctica. When playing the game of RISK, most of you probably started off defending the continent of Australia simply because it was easy to do so. The other continents served as early battlegrounds for hostile takeovers from the opposing forces. Sadly, I have only been fortunate enough to travel and explore two (Asia and North America) of the seven continents. The beauty of travel is discovering other cultures. Each and every culture is unique as experienced through their art, music and fashion. Fashion is more often than not an expression of a society’s culture. In more traditional cultures, fashion continues to follow the norms and values of that society. In fact, fashion has been dominated by the costumes in each of those cultures and follows a strict code where adherence to the norm is valued and the freedom of individual expression is frowned upon. Nowhere is individual expression more evident than in movies produced by Hollywood. One such film is “Rebel Without A Cause” starring James Dean, who happens to be the inspiration for this issue’s cover. James Dean, embodied the fashion of the youth of the 50s who rebelled against their parents way of dressing. The leather jacket, the blue jeans and the

t-shirt, have become the staples of modern men’s fashion. While others use fashion to express their freedom and individuality, there are those that use fashion to help build communities. One such community that benefits from the beauty of the traditional African continent is Likii, Kenya. Likii Tender Hearts is a non-profit organization that helps the small community of Likii by providing opportunities to showcase and sell the beautiful African outfits that have all been made by victims and families of those impacted by AIDS, depression, alcohol, drug abuse, and people with severe disabilities from Likii Village, in Kenya. Help us support them spreading the word about their mission. Fashion is often also whimsical and part fantasy. 16 year old designer, Alaina Hill’s design inspiration is the Queen of Hearts from the adventures of Alice in Wonderland. Dave Ainley carries that journey into fantasy further to cap our features in his interpretation titled “Destination 10,000 A.D.” And finally, we encourage you to follow the amazing journey of US Olympic sharpshooter Amanda Furrer as we introduce a new feature along the lines of “Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego?” Follow her and us on twitter at @amanda_furrer and @ wtfezine respectively and play the game with us.
