Baby it’s cold outside... Yes, it is cold outside! In fact it’s par for the course during this time of the year felt most especially in the Northern Hemisphere. And if you’ve been living under a rock these past few weeks or simply in hibernation mode, you probably won’t appreciate the title of this editorial piece. Baby It’s Cold Outside is as song that was written in 1944. Yes, that’s seventy-four years ago -- practically about the age when men and women get to say goodbye to this world. Not because of the temperature mind you but because of age. It’s 2018 and soon it will be 2019 and here we are living in a world where people are too sensitive for their own good. Essentially when it is in fact really cold outside, the natural tendency is to put on more clothing to protect the body and especially the face. Piling on clothing, putting on layer after layer, guarantees a greater chance of surviving the cold outdoor weather. Perhaps, we should take a cue from this practice when it comes to being overly sensitive. It is good to be overly sensitive especially if you want to go outside in the cold weather. In fact, survival in this life, requires “thicker skin”. Being able to not take things too personally and not getting hurt too easily helps in getting you through this hard life with a smile on your face. It’s like being able to put on more layers of clothing when the weather demands it.
So...when it’s cold outside what do you wear? Why sweaters of course! I know that it’s almost Christmas and people like to wear those ugly sweaters. Don’t follow their lead please. Find some awesome sweaters that fit you and not ones that look like you’ve put on a sack. That won’t do you any favors. The approach of the winter months isn’t an excuse to no longer be fashionable. If you’ve been paying attention you will have noticed that the last two issues featured a column by Audreana Camm. Perhaps you missed the issue when she was on the cover -- yes the one with the rusted out spaceship! You missed it? Oh come on now. You best check it out at... https://issuu.com/wtf-fashion/docs/june2018issuu Audrey has been keeping her eyes peeled for some fashionable and stylish people in the Spokane area. Not only that, she’s known for her retro-stylish outfits which she wears daily. And when she’s not looking out for fashion finds, she’s checking out the best burgers in town and in any place she happens to be at. I recommend that you follow her on Instagram at @Obsessed_with_getting_dressed Now before you venture outside, better put on some fashionable layers because “Baby it’s cold outside!”

FRIENDS
I caught these two cuties looking cozy and coordinated at Chaps, an adorable breakfast bistro in the Latah area! Am I the only one who has noticed that slouchy sweaters in neutral tones are dominating the city right now among the trendy?! I loved how they both had v necks with slouchy shoulders too. Scrunchies are newly popping up again, seems like people can’t get enough of the 90’s especially those who are teens to early 20’s and likely didn’t experience these trends the first time around.
Yours Truly Follow me on Instagram @ Obsessed_with_getting_ dressed, to catch my own daily fashions, and find out where I’ve found my favorite jackets this season. Tag #spokanestreetfashion if you spot real life fashionistas out and about making our city proud with trendy or bold looks! Lauren and Senora are rocking neutrals, for the win! These two totally looked ready for an impromptu besty shoot, didn’t they? I found them in the Perry district while they were scoping out Veda Lux Boutique for winter fashion finds! Look closely, Its all in the details…we have seen an emergence of leopard print recently which lends itself easily to the color palette these two are rocking. Nod to the 90’s with high waist jeans on one side and a western hat, and docs on the other with a grunge vibe. What an adorable duo!
Audreana Camm: Taking to the streets to research what’s dominating local trends among Spokanites, and to catch those who stand out amongst the crowd.
TRENDS THAT MATCH
Sierra, Emma, Lilleigh, and Megan were on the hunt for thrift finds downtown at chosen vintage when I met them. Their matching with a neutral palette, 90’s look, and doc style shoes were a complete coincidence! neutrals, check colorful scrunchie, check slouchy sweaters and, retro jeans, check, they display so many emergent trends our city is rocking in this frigid weather.
