The F word The Center Of Attraction “The great attraction of fashion is that it diverted attention from the insoluble problems of beauty and provided an easy way -- which money could buy... to a simply stated, easily reproduced ideal of beauty, however temporary that ideal.” – Theodore Zeldin

Women are also emotional creatures and they are said to be more in touch with their emotions. And in order for attraction to work, emotions must be stimulated for without emotion, attraction is impossible. Women are very adept at this emotional game. They know that an emotional roller coaster keeps things interesting and keeps the people interested in them invested.

Women know the secrets of attraction more than men do.

When something is so easy to get people tend to lose their appreciation for it so women know that being hard to get is quite an advantage in maintaining that attractive edge.

Men tend to apply the shotgun approach with a “take what you can get” mentality when it comes to attraction. Because women tend to get a lot of suitors coming their way, they can be more picky. In fact it is advantageous for women to be picky. This gives women the power because they are the one doing the judging and when you have that power you are the one being pursued. When you are being pursued you have a certain value to the ones pursuing you. Women know this and so in order for this to happen they must feel like they are worthy to be pursued, and they must be able to communicate this fact through their actions and their attitudes.

And finally, being able to push boundaries and doing things that are new and outside of your typical comfort zone increases your level of attractiveness. Diana Vreeland of Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue fame knew the secrets of keeping everyone on their toes and attracted to the imagery she created during her time. At WTF! we are celebrating three years of creativity! We’ve employed those same secrets of attraction over the years and we continue to do so in each and every issue we’ve been putting out.

Women place more importance on how they look and more importantly they understand that what they wear helps to get others to notice you. Another area that men often ignore is the sense of smell. Women know that fragrances play an important part in the attraction arena because smelling good triggers an arousal that leads to more attraction.

In this issue we’re shaking things up with Scott Mackay in “Strike A Pose!” teaming up with The Modern Theater’s Troy Nickerson, who did all the hair, make up, and styling for this shoot. We’re also featuring the artistic photography of Warren Stowell whose work is amazing which you’ll want to check out.

Physical attraction though only lasts for a moment. In other words, that level of attraction is good only for that first impression which is often the first 30 seconds of meeting or being observed by someone else. In order to maintain that attractive advantage women know that they have to be interesting. Being knowledgeable in certain subject areas and knowing how to listen and be interested in others increases interest in them.

Finally, it’s almost V-day and you will want to check out some outfits for your special day with your special someone – yourself! And if you’re planning to go to the Academy Awards you will also want to check out some outfits to make you the center of attraction on that red carpet.

Nobody likes boring. So doing what’s not expected of you can create an air of excitement and uncertainty around you to keep that excitement alive.

We’re looking for people who want to continue being part of our goal of being the center of attraction. Contact us for more information.

WARREN STOWELL If you haven’t yet taken notice you’re missing out! And maybe it’s time you just paid attention and take notice of Warren Stowell’s amazing photographic work. We sat down with Warren and asked him a couple of questions to introduce you to his art. How did you get started in photography? I used to shoot film when I was a kid but had too many interests and stopped shooting. My dad was an artist, he used to draw some amazing pictures and when he died 5 years ago he left me some money. I thought why not do something creative with his money and that’s where it started again for me. What subject matter(s) are you fond of photographing? People, landscapes, sports...I like everything really. Model: Alaska Mauve Hair and Make up: Brianna Frost Photographer: Warren Stowell

Who are your art inspirations? Erik Almas Joel Grimes Lindsay Adler Glen Meling, Adrian Sommeling What advice would you give to aspiring photographers? That the world is at your finger tips. You have access to more knowledge than any other time in our history. Use the Internet to teach you how to shoot. There is more stuff off of the Internet besides cats playing the piano.....

What challenges did you face in your early days as a photographer/artist? Finding the time to do it. I have three boys that love sports and a full time job. If you could go back and do things over again what would you do differently? I wouldn’t have posted any photos on the internet for the first three years. (That’s a joke by the way...). I would have researched more about the equipment that I bought. Buying cheap just means you have to buy the right gear later. We love Warren’s photography and we’re sure you’ll love it too. Don’t forget to check out more of his work at his site. warrenstowellphotography.com

Just BROWSing by Alyssah Perez

If you've ever owned a pair of tweezers, it's likely that somewhere in the past, you've had bad brows. Maybe it's even a present issue. It can seem like some women were just born with perfect eyebrows. While the rest of us stare at our reflection in the mirror wondering which strands atresia strays a trend which ones should stay. Luckily, we've got a few tips here to take the guesswork out if it for you. The secret to most great brows is that the hands of the face they belong to didn't do them. A majority of people are getting them professionally done. This can be as simple as waxing or as extensive as tattooing. The latest in trends is brow tinting. While many of us spend time filling in our own brows for as stronger/ fuller shape, some acre tinting to as achieve the same look. There is a nearly effortless way to do so. You simply make an appointment, sit back and let your brow artist do all the work. If you choose to go this route, be sure to review their work before committing. You want to be sure they are matching the color of hair properly and that the shapes they give their clients look great. An easy way to do this is check out the photos photos on their website, social media, or better yet, from a raving client. These services tend to cost $20-40 and last 3-5 weeks. If you're simply looking for a wax, brow threading or tweeze, I would advise going about finding the right brow technician in the same fashion as one that tints. These services range from $15-35 and last 2-4 weeks.

At last we have the famous at-home technique. Pay close attention! You will need -Tweezers -A brow brush -Brow filler While some choose to wax at home, I really prefer tweezing. Wax can be a little harder to manage for untrained hands. I feel the same about threading. The 'Golden Arches' look is just all to easy to achieve. One slip and you won't just be surprised by the results, but you'll be left looking so. Save that look for micky D's Now let's get down to it... If you have already over-tweezed, you need to stop cold turkey! Take a minute to assess the situation. You can draw in the shape and tweeze true strays but leave the rest. It can take over 6 months to grow back hair! As a guide, brows should start at the inner corner of your eye. The arch should start just after the pupil of your eye above the brow bone. And the the brow should end just after the outer corner of your eye. Check the image for reference. Since there is currently a trend of fuller brows, if you'd like to fill them in, you can use a gel, pencil or powder. I personally prefer a well matched powder or matte gel because it tends to look more realistic. From there on out, you just have to maintain the shape by taking a few minutes a week to tweeze strays. Should you over-tweeze, fill in your brows, schedule an appointment to get them fixed, throw on some oversized sunglasses and move on with life.

Fashion’s My Life an irreverent point of view by Angelana Maria Danielle Perez

All out call out! A once predictably fair maiden affair, haute couture has been amidst the confusion of definition, overlapping seasons or even reputation. I mean, don't get me wrong there were some hand sewn astonishing embellishments and frill but most boasted an unabashed twist (I've saved the designer's favorite hem choices and ruffled love). But it seems everything in fashion is being thrown to the wind and flitting about. There's an idealism being voiced as a kind of resilient post-apocalyptic romanticism from a generation of cash-strapped kids. Perhaps a bit of a precocious repercussion of the loss of a great innovator like the late great Bowie, that I'm sure we've all felt a void to fill. Although whether these waves have distressed or impressed, the deeply fundamental obligation is still and always should be impassionment. To achieve the memorable is to move the viewers. And when the designs are extravagant and developmental they have the potential to be more incredible! It is to stimulate the desire to reach a nearly unattainable ideal. It speaks to the dreamers to conti continue to do such and perpetuate the value of the artisanal.

I personally rather love all the excitement! Experimental shows overlapping outside of the designated seasons as Hood By Air decisively pushed the limits with and the whirlwind of speculation of who's the next creative director of which atelier. The rather spirited feeling brought about by a generation of do-it-yourself-ers has infectiously sp spread as social media has taken hold of the masses. A consequently positive opposition has manifested itself through all the hashtags and clips of daily me time generating a new perspective of presence and potential. Childlike curiosity with endless avenues to seek an entirely fresh outlook nurtures the intensity to redefine boundaries and reestablish practicality. PHEW! kinda dizzying right?! All I know is that more and more playful designs are brought to an ambitious level of l'air du temps. I'm not so certain what the fashion world is making of it all, however in the meanwhile the rest of the hopefuls are cheering the eccentrics that slipped into fashion! Uncertain times open doors for new ideas and young peopl people...and that’s what’s happening right in front of us!

Coats and boots and bags and hats and shoes and.... All too familiar and forever necessary. Accessories! The real game changers that have graduated to challenging the limits of which goes with what and why...or even, why not? Everything from your trouser socks to body chains and jewel engulfed ball caps, there is no shortage of looks we've seen that can double the wear of your closet without breaking the bank! Some very apparent favorites are in fact just clever minimalistic stylings, working smart not hard at letting your looks make themselves (especially pairing your coats and boots as your focal point accents).

Adjusting our closets to our lives couldn't be more satisfying and efficient, making more time for living life and less time folding laundry. And anyhow, what a better time than a new year to liberate your closet and find your wardrobe essentials. The fashion world has shouted it out so let us build our days with the PLETHORA of decorated style accents! Wardrobe accents have always been there to traipse about rain or shine, keep our aspirations and life saving whatnots packed neatly at our side no matter the design of bag, boosted our confidence on "bad hair days" and had our backs (quite literally) when ba the winds of change move us along. So make room for your overcoats, hats, button ups, shoes and day bags because spring is upon us and accessories are here to lead the stylish way in the ever-changing currents of life.

Ode to the fanny pack If ever there was a wild card, it was couture's very recent homage to the fanny! It's been a steady reoccurrence for this sneaky blast from the past but safe to say this gem has been it's sa given new life. The forever famed glory of the...well, bum bag, fanny pack, belt bag...or whatever you call it has made it's way into the hearts of several designers. Unexpected as it may be, the f ashion throwback first started really snowballing as prefall collections unfolded. As reinvented by names like Alexander Wang this new hybrid of modern and oddity clashed and became desired once again. In fact nearly every look of Lagerfeld's Chanel Couture show (and quite a few graced the runway at Elie Saab too) had artfully designed compact cases adorning their waist belts. So wear yours with no shame and have a little fun for the new year's look because this time there's a bit of wit and style to this practical piece.
