Happy New Year! Have you started on your New Year’s resolution list? Yes, it’s that time of the year again when we get ready to resolve to “trim the excess fat” and miserably fail after the first week of the New Year is over. Regardless of whether you achieve your goals of following your New Year’s resolutions religiously, the psychological effect of a new slate cannot be overlooked. At the approach of January 1 every single year, we look forward to wiping the slate clean and starting fresh. Somehow we relish the freedom that comes with starting anew and forgetting the past.
If you have liked our content for the past 4 years and as we prepare to celebrate our 5th year of existence next month, we are hoping that you will continue to support us for the next 5 more years (and hopefully more!) by purchasing a subscription to our content. This will allow us to compensate the models, hair and make up stylists, and everyone involved in the production of such content and continue to grow our reader base and offer growth opportunities to other creatives who wish to be involved in this endeavor.
Making resolutions can be the trendy thing to do. We all know that in fashion, trends are short-lived. Don’t be into trends. Make an impact that leads to long-lasting results.
We realize that it will be a difficult transition for most who are not used to paying subscription fees to view our content. However, in order to ensure our continued success as well as provide premium content, a subscription model works best for all.
At WTF!, we are here for the long-term. This year we are introducing new changes that will hopefully result in ensuring that we will continue to be around for many more years to come.
With over 4 million views over the past 4 years, we look forward to tapping that engagement as we provide a platform for aspiring models, photographer, hair and make up artists, and other creatives to feature their work.
The first of many changes is the introduction of subscriptions. Our publishing platform of choice -- issuu.com has enabled this feature to allow publishers of online content to offer subscription to their content. We will also be moving away from the “free-mium” model for the most part. We will still be offering some “free-mium” stuff on our Instagram channel at @wtfezine but by and large, the content we will be producing in 2018 and in the coming years will be subscription based.
Here’s to a great New Year!
