A word from our Governor: Hello WUMderful Circle K International members! I am so excited to be serving as your 2022-2023 District Governor! We have an exciting year ahead of us with many District Events to look forward to. One thing to think about right now is joining a District Committee. These committees are low commitment and give you a great opportunity for leadership experience! (Not to mention, being on a District Committee looks great on a resume!) I will be joining several committees and I hope to see you at some meetings! With the help of the District Board and members of the WUM District, I will be doing a Governor's Project this year! The focus of my project will be helping unhoused individuals. I chose to work with unhoused individuals for my Governor's Project because of the heartbreakingly high amount of people living on the streets because housing is inaccessible to them. I believe there is a lot we can do to show compassion towards this group of people and fulfill Circle K's mission of "live to serve, love to serve." There are items we can give to unhoused individuals and non-profit organizations we can work with to serve individuals experiencing houselessness. As a district, we will support these individuals through assembling and distributing care packages and working with local shelters. We will set up activities and events for my Governor's Project on the district level, but I also encourage you to do something on the club level. Whether it's fundraising for the Governor's Project or working with a shelter in your area, I would love to see all the clubs in WUM Circle K engage in my Governor's Project. I will send more information about this as we establish events and initiatives. If you need anything throughout the year, please know you can always contact me with questions, comments, and concerns about WUM Circle K. My email is governor@wumcki.org and I would love to chat. I look forward to seeing you at future District Events and look forward to getting to know all the members of WUM CKI!
-Governor Joanna Carman

Spring Fling Reflection Thank you so much to all of those who helped plan Spring Fling as well as those who attended this event. The 2021-2022 District Board did an amazing job planning the format, workshops, schedule, and fundraiser. I loved being able to do workshop runthroughs with those leading the sessions, writing countless pirate puns, interacting with the 2022-2023 District Board, and having the chance to create and run pirate trivia with Elizabeth (Metro-Southeast LTG). While we did fall short of our goal, I am still so proud of the work put in to advertise this convention seeing as we had 47 people register. Between our Walk the Plank and Pie-in-the-Face fundraisers, we were able to raise over $500 for Camp Wawbeek! The success of this convention was due to the constant work and dedication of the past and current District Board members. I could not have done this without the support of the District Board, admins, as well as those who attended Spring Fling!
