WUMderful Time for Award Season Hey everyone! The time is here to start applying for club awards! All of the clubs in our district do amazing things and have outstanding members who make it all possible. Applying for awards is the perfect way to get recognition for all the hard work and passion that you have been putting into your home clubs all year long! Similar to last year, all awards will be submitted as a google form. This format proved to be easier and more streamlined than the previous methods. below is the link to the document that holds all the information and links to each google form for their respective award. For each award, simply click on the link for the form and fill in all necessary information as completely and accurately as possible. If the judging board has questions regarding the authenticity of any statistics submitted, they reserve the right to cross check the information with club advisors. All awards are due at 11:59 pm on January 15th, no award applications will be accepted after this deadline. Now would be a great time to sit down as a club or executive board and talk about which awards you want to apply for as a club! Getting ahead of the holiday season will make filling these awards forms on time much less of a hassle! If you have any questions while filling out awards please do not hesitate to reach out to me at awards@wumcki.org. There are many awards and you all have a great chance of winning; however, you can’t win if you don’t apply! Good luck to everyone and happy awards season!! MAC Reflection Mission accomplished! On Friday, Oct. 15th and Saturday, Oct. 26th our Circle K international super spies met both virtually and in-person to hone their skills and connect with Circle Kers from around the Wisconsin-Upper Michigan District. This Membership Awareness Conference was of special importance to WUM CKI, as our beloved mascot Bessie the Cow had gone missing, along with our district meeting bell! Our members were tasked with finding the vigilante bovine and located letter clues throughout the conference which eventually led to an unexpected conclusion. Bessie has traveled into S-P-A-CE to take on our extraterrestrial enemies! In lieu of this development, our 2022 WUM CKI District Convention will be "Out of This World" in order to help our heroine cow in her battle to take service to the stars. As part of their training in the art of spycraft, attendees participated in workshops — taught by our capable District Board members — intended to teach them about the world of CKI beyond our district, ways in which to strengthen the connections between super spies, little acts of service that can make a big impact, and the basics of Circle K International. In-person attendees also took part in a wide variety of service opportunities around Camp Wawbeek, the headquarters of this very important conference, including leaf raking and the storing of art supplies and painted benches away from the elements in preparation for the coming winter. As the first in-person conference WUM Circle K has had in some time, I would call MAC 2021 a huge success! Members were engaged and enthusiastic about serving at camp and learning how to better serve their own local communities back in their home clubs. The event's theme was integrated across the entire event from start to finish and gave the whole weekend an air of anticipation which resulted in an appropriately-dramatic DCON promotional video that got everyone psyched to hop in their rocketships and leave orbit for a district convention in zero-g! Is it March 11th yet? Anton Maslowski Assistant Events Chair

On October 2nd, 25 WUM CKI members made their way to Camp Wawbeek for some service, repairing a wheelchair accessible boardwalk that had been damaged during storms and was unusable for over a year. This project was funded by the Tomorrow Fund Grant, a grant through Circle K International that the 2020-2021 District Board applied for and won. For those who are unfamiliar, Camp Wawbeek is an Easterseals camp in Wisconsin Dells for children and adults with disabilities. CKI has a close relationship with this camp, and it is where both fall and spring events are held for the District (under ideal, non-covid conditions, of course). WUM CKI fundraises for Camp Wawbeek each year, and we always try to see how we can help them out, which is where the idea to apply for the Tomorrow Fund Grant came from! We are so happy to have won this grant two years in a row, both times helping out Camp Wawbeek (last year, we made wheelchair accessible planters for them). Thank you so much to everyone who came out to help with the boardwalk repair! We appreciate it more than you know, and it was absolutely amazing seeing members back in person again! This project would not have been possible without all of you! We hope to see you all soon at District Convention! -2020-2021 District Board
