Transport Whitechapel Elizabeth Line Station, UK

Dhaka Metro BDP is working on the Line 5 North Metro Line in Dhaka and is designing 9 underground stations for MFCA. There are 5 typical stations and 4 unique stations with 2 of them being stacked ones. The designs of the entry structures of these stations are inspired by the local context and vary from area to area, thereby lending then a local influence and tying them in with their surroundings.

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi

IIT Mandi, India The campus is akin to a mini township catering to 1600 + students, 150 faculty members (+ families) and 140 staff (+ families) in Phase 1. The region has a very strong vernacular architecture and instead of imposing an ‘international’ style, the design incorporates local materials and roofing forms, as part of a masterplan that is deliberately not imposed on the site but developed around it.

Reimagining Age-Friendly Living Rethinking our urban centres as multi-generational communities.

Reimagining Age-Friendly Living According to data from World Population Prospects, by 2050, one in six people in the world will be over age 65. So how do we meet the health and housing needs of this expanding, multifaceted demographic?

BDP’s framework for designing affordable age-friendly homes and neighbourhoods

Reimagining Age-Friendly Living Key design and construction considerations for building high-quality, age-friendly places.

Reimagining Age-Friendly Living

This approach looks at location, scale and use; reimagining age-friendly living as connected to a wider context and community.

Design for Inclusion How can we make projects more inclusive beyond accessibility?

Design for Inclusion

Society is demanding an equitable approach to the design and development of the built environment. Our guiding principles outline how can we create social value and support ESG objectives.

Design for Inclusion

BDP’s inclusive design approach focuses on the full range of human diversity and our vast human needs to enable everyone to live and thrive.

Rising to the Climate Challenge Sustainable design strategies for the built environment.

Achieving Net-Zero Labs How can we create a net zero science research building? •

Utilise the data that drives CO2e emissions

Take a holistic view to reducing CO2e emissions

Only build what is needed, but enable flexibility

Take responsibility for the impact of your building

Offset any remaining embodied carbon emissions

Low Carbon Now Our housing team in Toronto explore what we can do NOW to lower a development’s carbon trajectory. Three key levers: •

Build smart structures

Use high performing building envelopes

Eliminate fossil fuels

Lighting the Way to a Circular Economy How can we incorporate a circular economy approach to lighting design? It’s not just about product and the supply chain - it is crucially also about project process. Collaboration is essential.

River Regeneration – Bringing Life to Communities Revitalising our urban centres through green infrastructure.

River Regeneration - Bringing Life to Communities From building level to city level, green infrastructure offers a range of benefits to resolve complex urban issues.

reGeneration Activating social and commercial value through meanwhile use.

reGeneration MEANWHILE USE during the time between land acquisition and the start of construction can enable: •

Placemakers to build trust and engagement with the community

Understand their needs and address them through meanwhile use

Incorporate the most successful aspects into the permanent development

reGeneration Activating social and commercial value by: •

Improving neighborhood health, employment, education, and placemaking

Stimulating local spend

Delivering real social impact to deliver ESG objectives

Support industry reputation

Creating interim income streams

These vignettes describe some possible meanwhile use scenarios
