LEAF ISLAND G21, THE WORLD This 17 acre artificial island is part of the “World�, which is an ambitious land reclamation project just 20 minutes by boat from the mainland of Umm Suqeim and 30 minutes from Jumeirah fishing harbour. Having an upland area of around 11 acres, this high-density integrated island resort development comprises of a marina to serve the entire development, high-end chalets/bungalows, mid-rise condominiums consisting of 1, 2 & 3 bed room units, and one luxury private villa. Building some of these structures on the water, both in the form of bungalows and mid-rises, provide exclusivity to the units.

THE SOURCE SPORTS CLUB COMPLEX Deriving it’s inspiration from local symbolism and the geology that characterizes this Garden City, our competition winning design for this unique sports centred mixed use precinct will distinguish “The Source” at Al Ain as a sporting destination that will be talked about throughout the world. The design’s main feature is a powerful cluster of four primary, world-class stadia organized under one main, mirage-like structure. Due to the increasing number of visitors and rising demand, an extension with Sauna Park, two additional pools and the a spa was added, phase I underwent an extensive refurbishment. After the re-opening end of 2003 the Mineraltherme offers its visitors 6 indoor and outdoor pools, 7 saunas and steam baths as well as beautifully landscaped outdoor areas and Spa facilities as well as various restaurants.

The Total Built-up Area of the Project is estimated 689,242 Sq. ft. A well treated podium and randomized juxtaposition of different types of glass and multi colored Aluminum composite panels contribute to the façade of the building. The structural framework and cladding system of the tower had to be carefully designed to withstand the extreme temperatures of the region and to accommodate the wind pressures and seismic loads.

The renovation scope of the rooms included a complete re-design and re-selection of furniture, finishes and art.

RIVER CITY NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT The development of this new residential neighborhood in the West Don Lands precinct of Toronto marks a significant initiative within the City. As the first new waterfront neighborhood, our design and development team intends to bring a unique and bold response to a brownfield, post industrial site that stretches along the Don River. Comprised of four city blocks, this new neighborhood will create 900 – 1000 residential units in what will be a green and sustainable community. In embracing a LEED Gold target of sustainability for this project, the design concept will create a contemporary metropolitan district that serves as a new model of green living.

RIVER CITY RESIDENCES PHASE 2 Unlike the dark exteriors of Phase 1 and 3, the sleek white design of Phase 2 stands out as a luminescent jewel against the industrial feel of the buildings surrounding it. Three glass mini-towers are connected on each floor with fully glazed passageways; units are constructed to look likes boxes jutting in and out and pivoting left and right. The use of translucent and white materials gives the structure an undeniable appeal that’s airy, modern and completely sophisticated. (In collaboration with Saucier + Perrotte Architectes)
