River City Phase 4
RIVER CITY PHASE 4 The fourth and final phase of the awardwinning River City development, Harris Square takes its name from the public square that it faces. Continuing River City's penchant for bold forms, the building is designed as a series of pentagonal plates circulating as they rise, reflecting the five sides of the site, and allowing for oversized balconies and terraces on many floors. Responding to its context, the building connects Lawren-Harris Square with Underpass Park by lifting itself up at the ground level, creating a relatively column free 6 metre high open space between the two public spaces and providing sunlight and views to the 155 units.

River City Phase 3
RIVER CITY PHASE 3 River City has raised the bar for largescale residential development in Toronto, encouraging a fresh design direction for architects and developers. Entering pre construction late this summer, phase three is slated to be the most impressive addition to the award winning complex. Situated at the mouth of the Don River the LEED Gold, mixeduse development has been turning heads since breaking ground four years ago. Designed in collaboration with Saucier + Perrotte Architectes, phase three brings over three hundred residential units to a 29-storey tower situated immediately south of the elevated roadway which cuts across the site and over the river.

RIVER CITY RESIDENCES PHASE 2 Unlike the dark exteriors of Phase 1 and 3, the sleek white design of Phase 2 stands out as a luminescent jewel against the industrial feel of the buildings surrounding it. Three glass mini-towers are connected on each floor with fully glazed passageways; units are constructed to look likes boxes jutting in and out and pivoting left and right. The use of translucent and white materials gives the structure an undeniable appeal that’s airy, modern and completely sophisticated. (In collaboration with Saucier + Perrotte Architectes)

River City Neighborhood Development
RIVER CITY NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT The development of this new residential neighborhood in the West Don Lands precinct of Toronto marks a significant initiative within the City. As the first new waterfront neighborhood, our design and development team intends to bring a unique and bold response to a brownfield, post industrial site that stretches along the Don River. Comprised of four city blocks, this new neighborhood will create 900 – 1000 residential units in what will be a green and sustainable community. In embracing a LEED Gold target of sustainability for this project, the design concept will create a contemporary metropolitan district that serves as a new model of green living.

THOMPSON RESIDENCES The Thompson Residences are a new premium style condominium offering its buyers access to all the hotel amenities and services from the chic luxury brand hotel across the street. This unique 12 Storey Residence will offer studio to 2-bedroom units, as well as penthouses and lofts from 350 to 2,600 square feet. The units will have 9 or 10- foot ceilings, and floor-toceiling windows with innovative features and meticulous details. BOUTIQUE HOTEL CONDOMINIUMS (PHASE 2) The Boutique Residences project is a 333 unit residential tower development located between Simcoe and Nelson Streets, south of Richmond Street at the nexus of the financial, theatre and entertainment districts of Toronto. As part of a larger midblock infill project, the design was developed to ensure that the scale and massing of the project is sympathetic to the mid-rise warehouse buildings that dominate the built fabric of this district. The 35 storey tower is an ultra-modern loft building with large expanses of glass, long terraces, and ample amenity space.

ISLAMIC DEVELOPMENT BANK RESIDENCES Adding to our already massive list of stunning, proposed architectural endeavors is the B+G+P+25 Floor Residential Tower designed as residences for Islamic Development Bank’s Corporate Staff in Jeddah, KSA. This luxurious residential high-rise covers approx. 106,740 sq.m of area and would feature open balconies, dramatic vistas, and a striking vortex-like public space located at the heart of the structure. The IDB Staff Residence aims to provide 25 floors of residential living space in the bustling city of Jeddah in addition to a lavish living environment and experience for residents.

LAKESIDE TOWERS Despite the project’s challenging size, all of the project documentation reflects the most efficient design, delivered on time, at the cheapest price. The two separate entrances – one for residents and one of the office workers – are architecturally expressed on the elevation by larger vertical elements forming gates. Located on the main spine connecting Dubai to Sharjah, the location is an advantage as it is close to both of the emirates. Although, each face is designed to specifically address the scale of the related street, and the faces are not symmetrical with each other, they are designed to read as a whole by using one primary material and consistent simple detailing. The two sides come together at the corner, forming a building-high gap, which marks the main entrance. MANKHOUL MID-RISE RESIDENTIAL The modern character of the materials, represents a contemporary building block in the city. Decorative elements such as offset window bands, horizontally running ledges and the colour tone are reflected in a translated form in the shimmering colour of the anodised coating, the profiles of the post-and-mullion construction and the shadows created by the sculptural elements of the opening casements. The balconies with raw fair-faced concrete projections and wooden shaders, ensure privacy even as far as the exterior space. The project was designed in a way to ensure the great individual freedom of design and lower costs combined with high architectural quality.

AL RAFFA RENTAL APARTMENTS This new eight storey rental apartment building promises to be a wonderful addition to the city fabric. It is located on a site stretching across a block between two streets. Above the ground floor parking is a mix of various apartments, designed to respect the traditional as well as modern way of life. The design team’s challenge involved revising the structural grid and offering alternative apartment layouts. This work includes alternatives for the unit counts and unit mix. As well, our firm proposed elevations that took into account the site context, the local cultural iconography, while respecting the client’s preferences and wishes.

Located in Ewan Residence, our brief for this infill project was to maximize the allowed built-uparea on two separate sites originally set aside for parkland. We proposed five 8-storey apartment buildings. As is common in Dubai, the aesthetic of the buildings is a blend between the historical style of the surrounding development, complementing the existing architecture, and a modern aesthetic in some details that we used to manage the required larger scale and volume. The ground floor contains some retail facilities, while the upper floors are purely residential.

The atmosphere of mystery, which starts from the hidden main entrance, merged with a touch of a modern aesthetic generated the form of the villa: a low building, with inclined walls forming a unique style. The villa consists of a basement for parking and services, a ground floor for most daily activities, and a first floor dedicated for a spacious family living with a roof garden extension. The requirement of Islamic privacy was satisfied by separating the day activities from the night activities in two different wings with separate entrances provided for the family and for the Majlis.
