Labyrinthe

Un antiguo cuento conocido y recordado en todo el mundo. A simple vista, un cuento inocente destinado a los mas pequeños. Pero si observado por la análisis creativa de Véronique Bour, vemos la repetición de la historia del abismo infinito del inconsciente humano, repetido, generación tras generación, como la misma vida. Partiendo de esta aparente sencillez y repetición, Véronique Bour propone una aproximación artística, psicológica y filosófica al mundo de la Caperucita Roja y del Lobo Feroz, al dialogo más intrínseco entre el ente femenino y el ente masculino. Un acercamiento que va en un cambio de densidad y coloración, de la claridad embriagante hasta, finalmente, tornarse oscuro, como el mismísimo inconsciente humano. A través de sus trazos sutiles y fuertes a la vez, Véronique nos invita a adentrarnos a la exposición “Labyrinthe”. Una interpretación en movimiento, un baile entre la dualidad y lo efímero de la vida con sus ciclos, la juventud y la viejez, lo masculino y lo femenino, lo consciente y lo inconsciente. Una dialéctica entre dos mundos, el del cuento, y el de nuestra imaginación. Nos hace caminar por un labirinto de encuentros. La luz, siempre presente en la obra de Véronique, nos alumbra respecto a la profundidad psicológica de la historia del eterno retorno. Nos hace ver el cuento de diferentes perspectivas y con abundantes tonalidades desde del punto de vista de nuestra psique. La ligereza de sus acuarelas evoluciona de forma inequívoca hasta la densidad de sus óleos. Pero tal densidad, no hace mas que iluminar el mundo fantástico que nos rodea. El personaje de la Caperucita Roja hace un guiño a interpretaciones mas contemporáneas del inconsciente humano, como bien ya analizaron en su visiones, Freud o Kafka, en la Interpretación de los sueños o en la Metamorfosis. Donde los personajes y sus creadores, se trasmutan, entre lo real y lo imaginario, entre lo pictórico y lo idealizado, creando sus propios mundos, interconectados por sus ansias mas profundas de vivir. An ancient tale known and remembered all over the world. At first glance, an innocent tale intended for the little ones. But if observed by the creative analysis of Véronique Bour, we see the repetition of the history of the infinite abyss of the human unconscious, repeated, generation after generation, as the same life. Based on this apparent simplicity and repetition, Bour proposes an artistic, psychological and philosophical approach to the world of the Little Red Riding Hood and the Ferocious Wolf, to the most intrinsic dialogue between the female entity and the male entity. An approach that goes in a change of density and coloration, from the intoxicating clarity until, finally, to become dark, like the very human unconscious. Through its subtle and strong strokes at the same time, Véronique invites us to enter the exhibition “Labyrinthe”. A moving performance, a dance between the duality and the ephemeral life with its cycles, youth and old age, male and female, conscious and unconscious. A dialectic between two worlds, the story, and our imagination. It makes us walk through a maze of encounters. The light, always present in Véronique’s work, illuminates us regarding the psychological depth of the history of the eternal return. It makes us see the story of different perspectives and abundant tonalities from the point of view of our psyche. The lightness of its watercolors evolves unequivocally to the dark density of its oils. But such obscurity does nothing than illuminate the fantastic world around us. The character of the Little Red Riding Hood, winks at more contemporary interpretations of the human unconscious, as Freud or Kafka have already analyzed in their visions, in the Interpretation of Dreams or in the Metamorphosis. Where the characters and their creators are transposed between the real and the imaginary, between the pictorial and thez idealized, creating their own worlds, interconnected by their deepest desires to live. Ella se enfermó cuando mi trabajo ya estaba terminado y murió antes de su presentación al público. Cuando ambas nos dimos cuenta de que habíamos escapado del juego. He creado este juego con una visión, casi me quedé ciega, y terminé sin saber si podía terminar esta obra. Es tan única y universal como el amor que nos rodea a todos en diferentes direcciones. Este juego es también acerca de un viaje, el mío y quizás el tuyo, acerca de la gente que conocimos o descubriremos. In Memoriam Françoise Jane Lamarque, my mother. She inspired me and gave me the energy to make the drawings that have been used to make this card game. She fell sick when my work was completed and died before the public release when we both realised that we had escaped the game. I created this game with a vision, nearly lost my eyesight and ended up not knowing if I could ever finsih this work. It is just as unique and universal as love that strikes us all in different ways. This game is also about a journey, mine and may be yours, about people that we all met or will soon discover. Véronique Bour 30
