Question 1: Explain the difference between Pictoral (in this case perspectival) space and Projection? (Maximum 100 words) The difference is the exisiting of vanishing point. Pictoral space have Vanishing point because it is about show the scenes object from a certain perspective. However, projection don’t have that, because the lines in projection is parallel.

Question 2: Where did Axonometric projection first arise, and why? (Maximum 100 words) It was used in military for trajectories measurment and dimensional drawing. Latter on in 19th century, it was been used and pratice in Engineering school. The reason people choose to use that is because it is easy to draw and understand in terms of measurement.

APPENDIX

Start Axonometric drawing, I was quite confused of the structure of the Mario world

Conversation with my tutor about how to compose three pieces of Mario world into my projection. My original plan was set the three pieces vertically and form a deep underground world. However, tutor suggested me to put the two pieces, which are underground, side by side with each other(Picture above) in order to save space and make the projection looks vivid.

After discussion with tutor, I finally figure out the sturcture and the shape of landscape and start to produce the projection.
