MOSCOW RACEWAY 14 & 15/07/2012

C’est l’événement de la saison ! Pour la première fois, les World Series by Renault prennent la direction de la Russie. La Formula Renault 3.5 Series, l’Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 et l’Eurocup Mégane Trophy seront les premières disciplines à évoluer sur le nouveau circuit du Moscow Raceway. La F1 sera également au cœur de l’événement grâce aux démonstrations Red Bull Racing et Caterham F1 Team.

The season is about to reach a high point as World Series by Renault heads to Russia for the very first time. The next races in the Formula Renault 3.5 Series, Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 and the Eurocup Megane Trophy will be the first events to be held at the all-new Moscow Raceway. Formula One will also be at the heart of the action thanks to the Red Bull Racing and Caterham F1 Team demonstration drives.

n Après un début de saison laborieux pour Mikhail Aleshin, Daniil Move et Anton Nebilitskiy, une victoire serait un événement et les relancerait en FR3.5 Series. Un beau résultat mettrait le débutant Nicolai Martsenko, déjà à trois reprises dans les points, sous les feux des projecteurs. n Mikhail Aleshin, Daniil Move and Anton Nebilitskiy have had problematic starts to the season and are all anxious for a win to get their campaigns back on track, while a high placing for rookie Nicolai Martsenko, who has already finished in the points three times, would put him in the spotlight in FR3.5 Series.

Après la partie technique, on enchaine avec du rapide et une succession de virages qui devraient se passer à fond ou presque. Il y a un peu de dénivelé.

After that technical section you head into a straight and a series of turns that you need to take flat out, or almost flat out. The track’s a bit uphill and downhill here.

C’est un circuit qui tourne dans le sens inverse des aiguilles d’une montre. Le premier virage est serré et donne la physionomie de tout le premier secteur, qui est très technique, avec des virages qui se passent en plusieurs fois. Il faut beaucoup d’appui et de motricité ici.

It’s a track that runs anti-clockwise. The first turn is tight and sets the tone for the rest of the first sector, which is very technical, with turns that go back on themselves. You need a lot of grip and traction here.

C’est une succession de virages assez rapides, qui, je pense, se passeront en quatrième. Il faudra vraiment soigner le gauche et le droite à la fin de cette partie car ils conditionneront la longue ligne droite.

You’ve got a series of pretty fast turns here, which I reckon you can take in fourth. You’ve really got to take care with the left and the right turn at the end of this section. Get those right and you’ll be in good shape for the long straight.

Il n’y a pas de difficulté particulière mais c’est une belle zone de dépassement. Si la tentative échoue mais que l’on ressort mieux que son adversaire, une deuxième chance est alors possible au virage n°1.

It’s not that difficult a section but it is a good place for overtaking. If you can’t make it here and you come out in better shape than your rival, you’ll get another chance at turn one.

C’est un mini Grand Prix de F1 qui sera proposé aux spectateurs du Moscow Raceway ce week-end. En effet, en plus de la RB6 pilotée par Daniel Ricciardo et Robin Frijns, une deuxième F1 évoluera en piste. Premier pilote Russe à avoir participé à un Grand Prix de F1, Vitaly Petrov ne pouvait pas manquer cet événement. Il sera au volant de sa Caterham à deux reprises, une fois samedi et une fois dimanche.

En plus du Renault Sport Show et de la parade Renault Classic, le Red Bull Kart Fight créera l’événement.

Race-goers can look forward to something of a mini grand prix at the Moscow Raceway this weekend. While Daniel Ricciardo and Robin Frijns will be showcasing their skills in the RB6, home favourite Vitaly Petrov, the first Russian to compete in a Formula One race, will be taking to the track on both racedays in his Caterham.

On top of all that there’s also the Renault Sport Show, the Renault Classic Parade and the Red Bull Kart Fight to look out for.

Though the 20-yearold Dutchman currently shares the lead with Sam Bird, the Briton is under contract with another F1 team, leaving Frijns free to take to the wheel of the RB6. “This is a dream come true for me,” said Frijns. “This

will be my first ever drive in an F1 car. I’ve been given an incredible opportunity and all I’m thinking about is making the most of it.

You don’t often get the chance to drive an F1 car with the pressure off and where all you have to think about is enjoying yourself and entertaining the fans.”

Nicolas Milan absent, c’est l’ancien pilote de F1 et de Champ Car Roberto Moreno qui le remplacera dans le baquet de la Mégane Trophy aux couleurs d’Ellip6.

Ex-F1 and ChampCar driver Roberto Moreno will be making his Eurocup Megane Trophy debut this weekend, replacing the absent Nicolas Milan in the Ellip6 Mégane Trophy.

Au Nürburgring, les pilotes ont pu découvrir le tracé du Moscow Raceway grâce au simulateur de pilotage Ellip6.

Thanks to the Ellip6 simulator on display at the Nürburgring, the drivers have already had a chance to familiarise themselves with the layout at the Moscow Raceway.

72 000 spectateurs se sont déplacés au Nürburgring début juillet, malgré une météo capricieuse. C’est pour l’instant la plus grosse affluence cette saison.

I was ten and we went gokarting with my dad on holiday. I made my competitive karting debut right after that and in 2009 I sat in a single-seater for the very first time, in Formula BMW at Varano. It’s still a magical memory for me. As soon as the wheels started to turn I felt like I was in another dimension.

Ma première course En karting, c’était la Christmas Cup à Sochi, et j’ai gagné. C’était le début de l’aventure.

En monoplace, c’était en 2010 à Sepang, en Formula BMW Pacific.

Mon circuit préféré J’aime les circuits rapides, donc Monza et Spa-Francorchamps… mais j’aime aussi beaucoup le Hungaroring, plus sinueux.

My favourite circuit I love fast tracks, so it’s Monza and Spa-Francorchamps for me. I really like the Hungaroring too, with its tight, twisty corners.

La première chose que je fais en arrivant chez moi après une course Je mange !!! Puis je me repose.

Mon pilote préféré J’en ai deux, Michael Schumacher et Robert Kubica Mon chanteur / groupe préféré Queen, Modern Talking et Metallica Ma nourriture préférée La cuisine italienne et espagnole, les deux pays où je suis le plus car je vis en Italie et mon équipe est basée en Espagne…

J’apprécie aussi la nourriture japonaise.

The first thing I do when I get home from a race I have something to eat and then I get some rest.

My favourite driver I’ve got two: Michael Schumacher and Robert Kubica.

My favourite singer or group Queen, Modern Talking and Metallica

My favourite food Italian and Spanish. I live in Italy and my team is based in Spain, so they’re the two countries where I spend most of my time. I like Japanese food too.
