Their last albums are full of energy and serious creativity, but I have one problem with the band: Not their regular performances when there are gigs, I wonder if something is fishy inside or outside the band? Sources close to the band say a member might be calling it a day and the reason is not yet known. But hey, we will keep you updated about the developments. If this is true make sure you work out your differences and keep making good music together!

hat’s the sound of the director during the music video shoot of Sir McKLeker feat Mpho “Jamress” Mphephu. The atmosphere was perfect and I got the chance to witness the power of creativity at its best.

Limpopo is the home of stars indeed, the location manager did his homework and this will have a serious positive impact as far as the quality of the final product is concerned. One would swear that this setting is not your local Louis Trichardt that you and

I know.

Jamress and Sir really did the shoot justice. You will hardly find someone who is an all rounder in the industry, from their acting skills to wardrobe was just -wow! For a minute I thought I was in the scene of a Hollywood video shoot. The music video presents Dj Brown Face, who is a popular radio presenter and Ambrose who is a well known club Dj and a producer (Stereo Lab). The theme is - not too obvious, but very relevant, which is what you get when you use the type of crew that shot this music video!

“We are the trying to come up with something not ordinary,

and it is hard to be relevant whilst trying to stay put. The challenge is on and we do not want to be left behind man, times have changed and we need to absorb change and live it” said the project manager Mas Da Brain! To all the things I said about Mpho on our last edition - hey you don’t need a man, you are better off without them. “Tip”- she will be graduating her Honors degree in Geology at the University of Venda!

The stereo Lab anchor Dj, Albert Oloo’s love life is said to be hitting a glitch, the dynamic Dj is taking it well and not broken and it seems as if this has even made him realize that music is better than love! He is on top of his game and is coming with some of the finest tunes ever and this tells me one thing “sometimes love is just not enough” go out there Wizzy and do what you do best. ELPHONIC Ready to set the stages and airwaves on Fire!

This is one artist who never shies away from letting his creativity stand out on every lyric he throws. Let’s find out a little bit more... * Who is Elphonic?

Elphonic is an 18 year old rapper from Sibasa, the name was derived from Lutendo (my name) and phonic, meaning the sound of words, it’s a combination of me as a person and my flow/the way I rap. * What inspires your music and makes it different and unique not only in Venda, but the world?

My style of writing is more based on inspiring people and emotional expression. * How would you describe yourself in one short sentence?

A strong mind and a creative love filled heart. * Is music your only hustle?

No, I am currently doing my second year of my Visual Communication degree at Open Window School of Visual Arts in Pretoria. * How far do you see yourself going in the industry?

My goal is to do all that is said to be impossible in our SA hip hop industry, in terms of international boundaries,

record sales and everything. * What South African artists would you like to collaborate with?

I’d say AKA, Bucie, Tumi from the volume, Khuli Chana and maybe even Percy Mukwevho. * Do you listen to any other types of music besides hip hop?

Yes, I’m actually very versatile and draw inspiration from a lot of classics like the likes of Stevie Wonder and Jimmi Hendrix. * Besides music and school, what do you do in your spare time?

A lot of designing, I play a lot of video games, occasionally go out, and just enjoy the company of the people close to me, and watching a lot of cartoons. * Are you currently signed to anyone or looking to be?

I’m building my own record label called the Elite and Prestige, which in future will promote home Venda based talent and it currently has 5 members. * What are you currently working on?

I just finished recording a mixtape and I have been pushing some of its singles as far as Botswana radio, and for now my main aim is to build a proper fan base before an album which is due out next year. * What’s your life motto?

By Risima Faith Mashila I hate the box. Yes the box, which labels us and restrain us from individuality. The box which boxes us up then puts us in a shelf with other boxes which are placed under similar captions. I am talking about a box called “society”. My problem with society is that it thinks it knows what is best for me. I am saying that as an understatement for society thinks it knows me and for that I don’t like society very much. “Society is a group of people related to each other through persistent relations, or a large social grouping sharing the same geographical or virtual territory, subject to the same political authority and dominant cultural expectations.” Well, at least that is what Wikipedia says. I hate society as soon as it starts telling me that I cannot wear socks in summer because it does not make fashion sense and then the very next summer it tells people that they can wear socks in summer because it looks great. I hate society when it puts ideas into my head that the girl on TV is greater than me because she is thinner and has a spot free face, therefore I should buy their product because I will look and feel just as happy, but what it doesn’t tell you is how you are supposed to feel when it doesn’t work. I hate society because it promises us better services and free stuff just to get into our good books, but as soon as it doesn’t need us anymore it dumps us like the trash it thinks we are.

I would sincerely like us to be friends, but I draw the line when you start to put me down instead of picking me up when I fall or lose sight of the important things in life. I would like us to live in harmony and share a piece of bread when one of us can’t afford any. I would like us to go back to basics when you were a companion and as long as we were together life would always be better. Let us go back to a time when what was mine was yours and a helping hand was always within reach. Can we please go back to a time when life didn’t revolve around money, fame and your selfish tendencies?....Dear society, if nothing at all just let me be an individual and on that note I shall take a bow.

Youth is always celebrated - Reboile Motswasele Reboile Motswasele was born in Tlhabane, Rustenburg, 17 January.

Being celebrated nationally, Reboile is a graphic designercum-layout designer who has so far designed books for some Limpopobased publishers as well. She claims that she lives by dwelling in the truth of who she is – as dynamic as that may sound. She holds an open mind, trying not to judge too much, letting things be what they are.

Youth is always celebrated , but I always come across situations where people find it hard to believe that I can provide the services they are requiring, and when you successfully do, the question is who is in the background!

Setting Personal Goals How exactly do we go about setting effective, achievable goals? Once we know what we want to achieve in the long term, then we’re able to determine what we need to do over short periods

of time to achieve the vision. Always ensure that you set SMART Goals: S – stands for specific; M – stands for measurable; A – stands for achievable; R – stands for realistic and T- stands for time-framed.

By mastering these areas, we’re able to set clear goals that we’ll achieve over the stipulated period.

The Value of Hardwork Every successful person has dedicated hours of hard work towards achieving their goals and dreams.

Believing in ourselves and having goals and plans is vital, but as important as these steps are, they’ll mean nothing unless we’re prepared to work hard and be disciplined.

Facing Setbacks In working to achieve your goals you’ll probably come across setbacks. But people who’ve become successful have had many setbacks. The one thing that differentiates them from less successful people is that they didn’t give up. They tried and tried until they achieved what they aimed for. Mac- J of Mac Fam is always on face book, which makes one to wonder whether he loves his fans or the spotlight. The dude is very creative and I admire that, but how does he balance his time between Face book, Music and School? Then it means that when he is not working he is on Face book or studying, and then we do not see traces of a girlfriend.

Maybe he is going by the saying that “the beautiful ones are not yet born” Get a life dude!

The musical gurus are back! It’s like all this time they have been waiting for the right moment to arrive.

Guess what, they are here to stay. When talking about a band of this caliber, we are talking history; passion and the list is endless!

Everyone, young or old, this is the convergence zone. The album really created the sharing spirit as parents and kids can now have something in common. I like the track “Nwana O Ngalangala” which is known across the board! It was produced by the hard hand world class producer Mulalo “mastermind” Mukwevho.

This is their twelfth studio album which has and already sold over three thousand copies in a very short space of time! When we are talking about quality, this is the album to go by!
